the Clips Description Initial analysis starts with a found object, a sprinkler, and based on the hand drawing of the object to create a pattern that is then transformed into 3-D spaces via the relationship between surfaces and structure.

Site Analysis The project site is adjacent to the heart of San Francisco. It sits between pier 53 and pier 70, from evidence where the old pier used to be. My particular site is facing a building with an opening suggesting wind that blows through the site along the horizon line with nothing but the ships in the distance. Working with my initial analysis, the “wind” becomes the best element to describe the wall curves and bends, just as the wind hits it in different directions. SHARON S. KO

infinite Description Created for building system and code class in order to fully understand basic building system and code, we designed a full scale movable block on wheels with wall, floor, ceiling and windows. In teams of three we incorporated our designs with our neighbors make connections with the other teams. We worked in the woodshop to assemble the pieces together to create an infinite linear line that included total of 9 projects.

the Box Description
1
To fulfill the requirement for construction class we build a wood block with interlocking pieces. The overall dimensions are 3”x6”x9” and has three equal pieces that interlock with each other without falling part. My idea for this box was to stain the outside with a dark walnut color which gives it a rough look in comparison with the bright cherry colored stain on the inside. To complement the physical box, we drew the diagram to show the key piece that separates the three.

Aggregation Each enclosed box is folded by connecting four boxes inside out. The folding technique allows the boxes to hold each others by the connection to the wall. As a secondary layer lighting are contained with in the each complete box. The deformation in surface creates gaps which allows lighting to cast shadow. The wiring system is occasionally viewed through the gaps.

Our client, Getty Images, wants to set up a retail store to provide in person cervices. The programs includes: office, retail, printing service, viewing area, and archives. The concept derived from the word ‘photograph’ to the idea of creating a NETWORK. We use squares with curved corners and flowing geometries as medium to convey the concept. The goal for this class was to complete a set of construction document for Getty Images.
