Initial analysis starts with a found object, the sprinkler, and based on the hand drawing of the object to create a pattern that than transformed into 3-D spaces via the relationship between surfaces and structure.

Site Analysis Project site is just adjacent to the heart of San Francisco. It sits between pier 53 and pier 70, some evidence of where the old pier used to be. My particular site is facing a building with an opening suggesting a wind tunnel that blows through the site and the opposite with the horizon line what has nothing but the ships come and go. Working with my initial analysis, the “wind” becomes the best tool to describe the wall curves and bends, just as the wind hits it in different directions. SHARON S. KO

infinite Description Building systems and code class, to fully understand the basic building systems and code we designed a full scale moveable block on wheels with wall, floor, ceiling and window system. In teams of three we corporate our design with our neighbors to make connection with others. We worked in the woodshop to assumble the pieces together to create the infinite linear line that includes total of 9 projects.

Boxes Aggregate - Packaging Boxes The box always act as a container of goods, this time lighting is being contained with in and cast shadow from inside out. The folding technique is being used repeatedly to create rhythm and repetition

Aggregation Each enclosed box is folded by connecting four boxes inside out. The folding technique allows the boxes to hold each others by the connection to the wall. As a secondary layer lighting are contained with in the each complete box. The deformation in surface creates gaps which allows lighting to cast shadow. The wiring system is occasionally viewed through the gaps.

Our client, Getty Images, wants to set up a retail store to provide in person cervices. The programs includes: office, retail, printing service, viewing area, and archives. The concept derived from the word ‘photograph’ to the idea of creating a NETWORK. We use squares with curved corners and flowing geometries as medium to convey the concept. The goal for this class was to complete a set of construction document for Getty Images.
