The 6th Annual Walk for Kid’s Growth started as a warm, foggy day. As the day progressed, the temperature rose and the amount of people increased. We helped set up the carnival games, cotton candy and popcorn machines, donation centers and posters. Soon after, a guest speaker and founder of Kid’s Growth gave a speech, and we walked a three mile path around Flushing Meadows Park with spirit.

At the finish line, the walkers and guests were welcomed with pizza, drinks and chips. The area was filled with people and music that could be heard from afar. A clown gave out balloon animals and singers and dance groups performed at the event. Lastly, there were raffles for prizes for those who donated to the cause. The event ended on a bright and sunny 10 note. -Rachael Tien, member
