WELCOME
SCOTT MATLICK, CFRE
In January 2023, Scott (he/him) will celebrate working ten years as a fundraiser, and is proud to have spent each of those years with Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern Arizona. There is nothing more important to him than family, and it’s a privilege to be able to keep them together during times of crisis at RMHC.
Having found this rewarding career almost by accident (by way of a previous calling in music education), he is working to serve the nonprofit and AFP communities by promoting an understanding and appreciation for professional fundraising. He is thankful for the opportunity to support his fellow fund raising executives’ work as they find outlets for compassion and generosity, creating change in Southern Arizona. Scott has two creative children who he is very proud of and is madly in love with his wife, Annie.
KELLY HUBER
Kelly Huber has almost 20 years of experience in the nonprofit sector working in all aspects from executive leadership, fundraising/development, and programmatic capacities. She has served the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona for the past 9 years as both the former head of the Community Investment Department and most recently the philanthropy department as the Vice President for Philanthropy. Some of her favorite work since starting at CFSA in 2013 surrounds building funder collaboratives, supporting donors, and creating community partnerships. Every day, she feels lucky to learn about the passions and interests of donors in our community and then build a plan to support their philanthropy now and forever. She earned a BA in Spanish, BS in Environmental Science, and MS in Nonprofit Organizational Management. Personally, as a native Tucson and the mother of two boys, her favorite Eegee’s flavor-of-the-month is Lucky Lime.

OUTSTANDING YOUTH IN PHILANTHROPY
LILY MESSING
Lily Messing is a junior at The Gregory School in Tucson, Arizona. She founded 100+ Teens Who Care, a philanthropic giving circle of over 180 teens from high schools throughout Southern Arizona.
Passionate about making a difference in her community, Lily believes that high school students are not too young to create meaningful change. This conviction led her to start 100+ Teens Who Care and is the driving force behind her push to grow the organization. As a result of the nonprofit’s success in Tucson, Lily is working on expanding the organization by developing satellite chapters across the United States and abroad.
Lily’s hard work has not gone unnoticed: Grapevine and Philanthropy Together have recruited Lily to be a philanthropic coach and help youth across the world start teen giving circles. All of her endeavors further her core goal to ignite the next generation of philanthropists to give back to their communities.
Outside of the nonprofit she founded, Lily has taken leadership positions in several areas at The Gregory School. She is the president of multiple clubs – Junior State of America, Junior Classical League, and French Club – as well as the Managing Editor of her school newspaper, The Gregorian Chant. Lily is also an accomplished tennis player and captains the girls’ varsity tennis team.

The fund addresses the chronic underfunding of LGBTQ programs through philanthropy and endowment building.
To date, the LGBTQ+ Alliance Fund has awarded 219 grants to 75 nonprofits, totaling $1,131,957. In 2022, the Fund awarded $103,000 to 12 grantees – the largest annual investment in its 23-year history – and also announced a multi-year funding commitment to current and future grantees. Grants have supported diverse programs, including Habitat for Humanity’s Rainbow Build, Planned Parenthood’s Teen Advisory Group, Bisbee Pride Celebration, Tucson International Jewish Film Festival, KXCI Out Loud!, LGBT Behavioral Health Coalition’s Let’s Get Better Together Conference, Project Visibility, Amig@s de Mariposa, and an Annual Sex and Scholarship Symposium organized by the University of Arizona’s Committee on Lesbian/Gay/Bisexual Studies.
