Leela Dance Collective Speak: Raleigh, NC (April 14, 2022)
Four choreographers (acclaimed kathak dancers Rina Mehta and Rachna Nivas with tap impresarios Dormeshia and NC native Michelle Dorrance) have created a triumph of tradition and possibility. Ram Navami Celebration: Apex, NC (April 10, 2022)

North Carolina Azalea Festival: Wilmington, NC (April 6-10, 2022)
The festival takes place April 6 & 10, 2022 and features garden tours, entertainment, a waterfront street fair, family events and parade. It showcases Wilmington’s artwork, gardens, rich history, and culture. Watch fireworks over the Cape Fear River. Details: Ncazaleafestival.org.
Charlotte StrEATs Festival: (April 15-16, 2022)
Celebrate the chefs and neighborhoods that make Charlotte’s culinary scene what it is. The festival will kick off Friday, April 15 (58:30pm) with a family-friendly event featuring cooking demonstrations from local culinary students, dessert and food trucks, vendors, and kid activities. On Saturday, April 16 (12-6pm) there will be a full day for foodies, with appearances by celebrity chefs, chef demos, and live music while noshing on food truck fare. Charlotte SHOUT! is an aspirational multiweek festival designed to showcase the community by celebrating Charlotte’s creativity and innovation through art, music, food, and ideas. Boom Charlotte Festival: (April 22-23, 2022)
The 5th BOOM Charlotte will be held April 22 – 23 with the return of the annual in-person fringe art festival. The fest will feature: BOOM Fringe, experimental original art performed in intimate settings, BOOM Intersection, a broad range of art performed on a central stage for all to enjoy, and BOOM Street, various types of art experiences that people happen upon as they walk around the festival. Greer Goes Global International Festival: (April 23, 2022)
Get ready to go around the world in a day, enjoying the sights, sounds and tastes of multiple cultures at Greer City Park and Greer City Hall. Charlotte Kids Fest: (April 23, 2022)
Charlotte Kids Fest returns in-person at UNC Charlotte on April 23, 2022. Presented by University City Partners, the free day-long event will offer over 50 unique experiences that serve to expand the interests and minds of children and parents. Attendees will engage in creative, informative and kid-captivating activities and live performances that include robotics, magic, yoga, martial arts, music, dance, emergency and construction vehicle tours, storybook readings and live cultural and musical performances. MerleFest: Wilkesboro, NC (April 28-May 1, 2022)
MerleFest is a celebration of “traditional plus” music, a unique mix of traditional, roots-oriented sounds of the Appalachian region, including old-time, classic country, bluegrass, folk and gospel, and blues, and expanded to include Americana, classic rock, and many other styles. The festival hosts a diverse mix of artists on its 13 stages during the multi-day event. MerleFest is the primary fundraiser for the WCC Foundation, funding scholarships, capital projects, and other local educational needs. The India Association of Charlotte in active partnership with the Town of Matthews will present a regional Festival of India on Saturday, April 30, 2022, noon to 6pm at Stumptown Park. Performances at the event will present a snapshot of the broad variety of dance forms and include classical and folk dance styles of from various regions of India as well as a popular Bollywood dance style that is an evolving fusion of old and new. Come and see the Visual Art Gallery with artwork by over 40 local artists. Also be sure to try unique cuisine in a new eclectic open setting with a variety of savory Indian dishes.
