KGF: Chapter 2

The blood-soaked land of Kolar Gold Fields (KGF) has a new overlord now, Rocky, whose name strikes fear in the heart of his foes. KGF Chapter 2 is directed by Prashanth Neel and stars Yash, Sanjay Dutt, Srinidhi Shetty, Raveena Tandon, and Prakash Raj. Look for it in cinemas on July 16.

Summer of Soul

Summer Of Soul (...Or, When the Revolution Could Not Be Televised) is a feature documentary about the legendary 1969 Harlem Cultural Festival which celebrated African American music and culture, and promoted Black pride and unity. Rapper and musician Questlove directs the film which features Chris Rock, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Stevie Wonder, and Nina Simone. The film releases on July 2.

Jungle Cruise

Based on Disneyland’s theme park ride where a small riverboat takes a group of travelers through a jungle filled with dangerous animals and reptiles but with a supernatural element. The action, comedy and fantasy movie, directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, stars Dwayne Johnson, Emily Blunt, Edgar Ramírez, and Jesse Plemons. It hits the theaters beginning July 30.

Joe Bell

Mark Wahlberg stars in this true story of a small town, working class father who embarks on a solo walk across the U.S. to crusade against bullying after his son is tormented in high school for being gay. Director Reinaldo Marcus Green guides the cast that also includes Connie Britton, Morgan Lily, and Gary Sinise. The film releases on July 23. entangled with an enigmatic killer (Michael Keaton) whose attraction to her goes way beyond cat and mouse, their confrontation turns deadly and the loose ends of a life spent killing will weave themselves even tighter. Director Martin Campbell’s film releases on August 20.

The Green Knight

A fantasy re-telling of the medieval story of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight. The movie, directed by David Lowery, stars Dev Patel, Alicia Vikander, Joel Edgerton, Sarita Choudhury, Kate Dickie, Barry Keoghan, Ralph Ineson, and Sean Harris. Look for it to release on July 30.

Gangubai Kathiawadi

Veteran director Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s new film Gangubai Kathiawadi is based on the book “Mafia Queens of Mumbai” written by S. Hussain Zaidi. The movie showcases the rise of a simple girl from Kathiawad in Gujarat who had no choice but to embrace the ways of destiny and swing it in her favor through her defiant, independent nature. The movie stars Alia Bhatt as Gangubai along with Shantanu Maheshwari, Vijay Raaz, and Seema Pahwa. The movie will be released worldwide on July 30.

Action Scenes of upcoming Heropanti 2 to be Filmed in Russia

The sequel to Sajid Nadiadwala’s Heropanti is directed by Ahmed Khan. According to reports, the team will head to Russia to film key action sequences. Starring Tiger Shroff, Tara Sutaria and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, the crew will begin shooting in Moscow followed by work in St. Petersburg. According to reports, filmmakers have approached several stunt designers, including Martin Ivano who is known for his work in Skyfall (2012), The Bourne Ultimatum (2007), and The Bourne Supremacy (2004).” Heropanti was Tiger Shroff’s debut film and made him a superstar. No release date has been announced for the sequel.

book for years. The book, “Raj Kapoor-The Immortal Master at Work,” covers the life of Kapoor as an exceptional filmmaker. Raj Kapoor was among the filmmakers that helped evolve Indian cinema. Rawail told an interviewer that the late Rishi Kapoor encouraged him to write the book. Rawail says he also discussed the idea with other Kapoor family members including Randhir Kapoor and Krishna Kapoor. Rawail hinted that the book will cover his observations of working at RK Studios (the studio founded by Raj Kapoor) and tap into Raj Kapoor’s outlook on cinematic life and his sense of humor.

Yami Gautam Joins Cast of Oh My God 2

According to trade reports, actor Akshay Kumar and producer Ashwin Varde are reuniting to make a sequel of the hit film Oh My God. It was also reported that Pankaj Tripathi will be replacing Paresh Rawal in the sequel, while Kumar will continue to appear in his God avatar. According to Bollywood Hungama, “Yami Gautam will play the female lead in Oh My God 2, and she has a very crucial role in the story. While the last part was all about the fight of a man with God, this time around, the makers have come up with a unique story line that has three key roles to be played by Pankaj Tripathi, Yami Gautam and Akshay Kumar, respectively.” The first film was directed by Umesh Shukla, the sequel will be reportedly helmed by Amit Rai. No information yet on when the filming begins or the release date.

Toofaan

The highly anticipated inspiring sports drama featuring Farhan Akhtar, Toofaan, is slated to premiere on July 16. The film, directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, also stars Mrunal Thakur. Vijay Raaz and Paresh Rawal. Toofaan brings alive boxing as a sport, while narrating a riveting tale that follows the journey of a common man as he navigates through the ups and downs of life to achieve his dreams. The story revolves around the life of Ajju an orphan boy born in Mumbai’s Dongri who grows up to be a local goon. His life changes when he meets a bright and a compassionate young woman Ananya, whose belief in him motivates him to find his passion as he embarks on his journey to becoming Aziz Ali, a boxing champion. It will stream on Amazon Prime.
