Dedication
I would like to dedicate this concert to the young men and women currently serving in the Armed Forces of the United States of America around the world. Those serving in Iraq and Afghanistan are placing their lives in jeopardy to carry out our country’s foreign policy. And those who are not in harms immediate way are serving in critically needed jobs to support the overall military goals of our nation. The late President, Teddy Roosevelt said, “Any man [or woman] good enough to shed their blood for their country is good enough to get a square deal afterwards.” Believe me, it does not always happen. Congress can sometimes be very uncaring and unfeeling towards our service men and women. It is our job to keep the pressure on our elected officials to ensure that yesterdays veterans, today’s veterans and tomorrows veterans, get fair, equitable and necessary benefits due to their service. Today, tomorrow, and in the future, remember these gallant warriors—who are carrying on the 229-year tradition of American military service—with your thoughts and prayers.
God Bless them All! FRANK M. SMART Vietnam Veteran Combat Reporter/Photographer with the First Cavalry Division

Welcome to the 7th Edition of Frank M. Smart’s
All-American Gospel Music Concert Series First let me say what a pleasure it is to be associated with the Garrotte Lions Club of Groveland. The work performed by Lions Clubs throughout the world has had a favorable impact upon millions of people over their many years of service. And the Garrotte Lions has upheld that tradition of service to others for many years and are to be applauded for their past efforts and their continuing drive to make their wonderful community a better place to work, live and raise a family. Secondly, let me say what a pleasure it is to be associated with the people of Groveland, Pine Mountain Lake and Big Oak Flat. I have always admired this community and the great spirit that prevails in this area. This afternoon you will be involved with an uplifting experience that, hopefully, will stay with you in the weeks, months and years to come. Southern Gospel music has a unique sound and like all Christian music, it can heal, nurture and uplift your spirit, but it can also be very entertaining. What you will be witnessing here today in this beautiful pastoral setting is some of the finest Gospel music available in the state of California. In additional to having a great time with your family, you will be assisting the Lions Club in their good works. I am grateful to Don Lustenberger and all the great people of the Garrotte Lions Club who have allowed me to bring you this concert. My purpose is manifold. 4 LionsClubProgram

O One purpose is to expose more people to this uniquely American form of music known as Southern Gospel in hopes of building a greater audience in this area. Secondly, I know this music ministers to me and my family, so therefore, I know it will minister to you and yours. And thirdly, I get great pleasure out of helping others, and so all of my concerts—and this is the 7th one in less than five years— are solely to help non profits raise money so they can continue the great work they do. We are all truly blessed by where we live. So sit back, relax with your family, and enjoy an afternoon of great music. Thanks for your support. FRANK M. SMART, Sonora
0 Please support our musical ministers by purchasing their CDs and other Christian memorabilia. For the most part, these wonderful Christians do this for the love of the message. They need our support to continue their ministries. Visit their booths and introduce yourself to them, tell how much you have enjoyed them, and invite them back. They will appreciate it.

The Herb Henry Family They say that the best harmony is familial harmony, or in other words, family harmony. And there is no family that better personifies that saying than The Herb Henry Family. Consisting of the father, Reverend Herb Henry; mother, Nancy; and adult siblings, Chris, Angela and Amanda Joy; this dynamic musical ministry is making their fifth appearance at the All-American Gospel Music Concert. They have previously appeared at four consecutive All-American Gospel Concert’s fall event and are scheduled to appear at the Fall ‘05 concert in Sonora. They perform variously as a trio, a quartet or a quintet and can sing old hymns, Southern Gospel classics or music that has come from their hearts and minds. Reverend Herb ministers the Assembly of God church on Richland Avenue in Ceres, and Nancy works in the ministry with him as do the children. Active in the Western States Gospel Music Association (WSGMA), and The National Quartet Convention, the Henry’s are well-known and highly-regarded throughout the Southern Gospel music community. And locally, the Henry Family is also well-known having appeared in this area numerous times over the years. In fact, Reverend Herb can recall appearing on the stage at the Sonora High School auditorium 35 years ago with a gospel group called The Premiers. This group is always warmly received by Tuolumne County audiences and will be by this one also. And rightly so. Let’s show them our appreciation for what they do.

The Johnson Family Quartet The Johnson Family Quartet is making their first appearance in Tuolumne County and I guarantee you will be very pleasantly surprised by their performance here in Groveland. Father, Don; mother, Beth; Bonnie, 13 and Ben, 11; bring a wonderful spirit of giving and love every time they take the stage. Ben says, “When we sing, we don’t just perform for churches or hospitals. Our work is for the Lord….” Bonnie says, “The Lord is worthy of special thanks for giving us the ability [to sing] and the joy of music in our family….” It all began a few years ago with the family singing in the car. Soon the kids were picking up the melodies and the harmony and then the family won a gospel talent contest. The die was cast for this Southern California family. They have a CD out entitled Let the Sunshine In which is available for purchase today and they hope to have a new project Journey of Faith out next Spring. Sit back and relax and be prepared to be ministered to and greatly entertained by this wonderful family. Welcome them to our community and make them feel at home.

Faithful
“Go into all the world and preach (sing-shout-share!) the good news to all creation” —MARK 16;15
If you have heard and seen the Tuolumne County based gospel group Faithful, then what you are seeing here today in Groveland will look and sound a little different. The group was dissolved recently so two of the members could pursue other interests and spend more time with their families. Faithful has been reformed as a duo. Bobbi Frye, founder and leader, has taken on a new partner and we welcome her with open arms. Lisa Price—who resides in Franklin, North Carolina—is a veteran gospel and country music singer, songwriter, instrumentalist and entertainer. Bobbi and Lisa are multi-award-winning musicians. They combine for impeccable harmony blends and with their sense of humor, love of the message and of each other, they provide a concert experience that is meaningful and thought-provoking. Through music and witness, they share their compelling testimony of how the Lord has used this ministry to effect healing, salvation and renewal, and how He continues to bless them as they share God’s word. With true hearts of worship, Faithful stands up to bear witness that “whoever is faithful in little is faithful in much…” (Luke 16:10 NKJ). Whether your event or service is for two or two thousand, Faithful would love to be part of calling God’s people to celebrate and praise him.
