OUTDOORS

The Tuolumne County Economic Development Authority promotes the County of Tuolumne, including the City of Sonora, as a dynamic business location and provides your business with essential information that is needed when locating or expanding your business in the Sierra.

We are pleased that we have an economic development authority that is actively engaged in assisting businesses to succeed. When Sierra Pacific Industries (SPI) decided to replace our sawmill in Standard, Economic Development Director Larry Cope worked with our team every step of the way. He fully understood the importance of the working forest and that SPI’s sawmill infrastructure creates jobs, healthy forests and recreational opportunities, which have substantial economic benefits to the region. Building a sawmill is a monumental undertaking and through the efforts of Larry and Tuolumne County, we were able to stay on schedule and cut costs. —MARK LUSTER, COMMUNITY RELATIONS MANAGER, SIERRA PACIFIC INDUSTRIES

The TCEDA helped our company by organizing an initial high-level meeting of the relevant stakeholders when our company was beginning a permitting process. Larry Cope knew which individuals would be necessary to have in the meeting, and how to get them there. His office hosted the conference, and it was a success. Larry always knows what’s going on in the County. He always has many irons in the fire, and many great ideas in the works. He’s just a bundle of energy directed towards economic growth and development! —CAREY HAUGHEY BLUE MOUNTAIN MINERALS

ECONOMY

The TCEDA has been able to focus on specific economic development opportunities within the county. In particular, under Larry Cope’s leadership, this focus has been targeted and followed through step by step from start to finish with each business coming in to the County. The TCEDA has also been available to work with each arm of the County and/or City to make the pathways easier for these new businesses. This success has been even more remarkable as this has been achieved in a rural area and during the worst years of the recession. For any local business wishing to expand, or for any new business to be attracted to the county, the TCEDA has created an efficient ‘one-stop shop’. —RON E. PATEL, BLACK OAK CASINO

HISTORY TCEDA under the guidance of its director Larry Cope, plays a crucial role in the survival and future growth of Tuolumne County. No other organization has come close in promoting Tuolumne County and attracting business. My business has absolutely benefited from the ongoing promotion campaign showcasing all Tuolumne County has to offer. —KIMBERLY DARR BROKER/CENTURY 21 WILDWOOD

CULTURE

We are currently in the process of making some major upgrades to our MRP system. This requires a very considerable investment in new computer hardware, software, consulting, and months of training. Larry Cope and his staff have been working with us to help us obtain California ETP and local funds that will help offset this major expense. —DAVE CARLBERG, CO-FOUNDER, KINEMATIC AUTOMATION, INC.

TCEDA is a valuable source of support and information for the local business community. They also offer reasonably priced training programs for entrepreneurs. As a member of a non-profit board, I have asked for and received help from Larry Cope. —LARRY JONES
