The Historic Iron Door Saloon in Downtown Groveland was built sometime before 1852. It was first called the “Granite Store” because the front and back walls are made of solid granite blocks. The roof consists of three feet of sod, covered by tin. The Iron Door is the oldest, continually operating saloon in the State of California and is owned by local resident Peter Barsotti.
