“Success might be relative but most things that matter in real life aren't. A degree is a degree, a job is a job and hard work is hard work – as simple and direct as it can be.” It's time again to bid farewell to the outgoing batch. The moment of separation is heart rending, it has always been and it always will be. With each batch passing out our legacy walks out the corridors of NIFT and becomes a part of the industry. It's time now for the seventh batch to walk out tall and proud. It's one of those happy sad moments that bring a certain heaviness in our hearts. Happy that the students shall enter the industry and carve a niche for themselves in the industry and contribute meaningfully to the society. Sad that they shall no longer remain around us after having grown on us. Our best wishes and prayers shall ensconce them and brace them from the unfamiliar and the unfriendly waters. As they bid farewell to NIFT, they are fully resolved within themselves to take on the most severe challenges of the industry. As fashion professionals they are fully geared to make significant changes to the ways of working in the coming times. They shall not buckle under pressure and they shall delegate in the most dignified manner, bringing about equity amongst colleagues around them. Enabled with the virtues like discipline, perseverance and good samaritanship they shall be able to take on the obstacles one at a time, making their own set of mistakes and learning in very different unique ways. Steve Jobs famously said, "We're here to put a dent in the universe. Otherwise why else even be here?” With the same spirit, we expect that the passing out batch shall initially travel the dead beat roads and when they have grown mature enough, they shall tread that path that shall take them to their intended destiny. To achieve the desired goals, it is imperative that they search within, time and again, activate their inner compass and ensure that they stay well aligned with the ultimate goal of life, which is, to give to the society while building oneself and reach the pinnacle of excellence.

Just like the honey bee the students shall carry the legacy of their alma mater and spread it in the fashion industry and bring laurels to the department in the true sense. They shall learn how to handle turbulence and in due course of time when they become masters of the game, they shall start creating turbulence for others to capitalise on. In other words, they shall create future for others to cherish. As our future ambassadors that must deliver real value to the society. We hope that in due course of time they will learn to be their true self, be human and be trustworthy. May the almighty shower upon them the success and glory that they yearn for but at the same time bless them with the peace and happiness that they need to sustain in the long run. May struggle during the tough times, build themselves in the process and bask in the limelight of success well deserved, only to get ready for the next battle for have miles to go before you sleep. With this i bid farewell to the passing out batch and wish them the best of turbulent times!
