According to Billboard.com

Who Woulda Thought…by: Chris W. Riverview, a place that students claim to hate but in fact benefit from it more than they know. Speaking from experience I could be considered a poster child for angst against the school. When I first came to Riverview I loathed the school because I felt like it meant I couldn’t be with the people that I grew up with and went to school with for ten and a half (10 ½) years. This however isn’t true, I was still able to see my friends and go to school functions, I still felt secluded from the happenings at “their” school. All I wanted was to be able to go to school with them again. With the support of my clinician and my own determination, I was able to accomplish what I set out to do.

PBIS is a positive behavior management framework that will help to create a safer and more effective River View. It has school-wide expectations with incentives and consequences for problem behavior. Here at River View our expectations are neatly packaged in the letters S.O.A.R.

numerous obstacles and challenges. At first, I still felt secluded because I wasn’t there with my peers for the full day. Since my first day of transition, I have been included more in what occurs at the high school. I guess what I’m trying to say is that if you put your mind to it and try you can do what most kids want to do here-go back to district. For help obtaining this goal you may contact me at: Facebook, Schragenheim’s homeroom in the morning, or random times during the week in Ms. Hayes’ office. George F. Baker Tuxedo High School

Poetry Corner Just because we are BOCES students, doesn’t mean we are not smart enough to learn or be like every other kid.

Just because we may need help with certain things or extra support sometimes, doesn’t mean we can’t do anything by ourselves.

Just because we attend River View, doesn’t mean our reasons are all the same.

Just because River View is our high school, doesn’t mean we are not as good as everyone else or that we are bad kids.

We all have flaws, no one is perfect.
