JULIE GOODNIGHT

HOLLY ARMSTRONG

Julie Goodnight is an internationally respected trainer and clinician with experience in many types of training. She grew up riding ponies and horses on an Orlando farm and competed in hunter jumpers throughout her youth. Julie counts horses among her earliest friends; she spent many summers hanging out in the horse pasture and studying how the horses moved and interacted. During college in New Mexico, Julie earned extra money by warming up Thoroughbreds on the race track. The cowgirl felt at home in the west, soon hit the trails and studied Western disciplines. As a natural teacher, Julie decided to make horses her life's work and to teach people how to work with horses safely and with kindness. Showing her dedication to teaching and safety, Julie earned her Master Instructor and Clinician ranking with the Certified Horsemanship Association (the association she continues to represent as International Spokesperson). In 2008 she was named Equine Affaire's Exceptional Equestrian Educator - one of only three awards ever given. Now, Julie teaches riders how to be their horses leader and to excel in whichever equestrian sport they choose. Her varied background and training in dressage, jumping, racing, reining, colt-starting, cutting, and wilderness riding make her a well rounded instructor. She teaches horse owners around the world how to establish great relationships with their horses through her Clinic Tour, Horse Master with Julie Goodnight television show, expo appearances and her many how-to DVDs.

Holly Armstrong, her husband, Neal and daughter Ashley own and operate Meadow Reflections Farm in Howell, MI, an award winning farm where horses are trained, bred, raised, boarded and loved. KIMBERLY A. CARDECCIA MA, LPC

JAMIE CLARK-SAMPLES Yellow Barn Media is truly a company that was built on a passion. From a young age, I knew riding horses was important—so important, that I made it a priority to learn anything and everything to be successful at it. The young businesswoman in me took to showing my pony and selling tack in between classes to make money for more horse supplies, and it took off from there! I became healthily obsessed with the equine industry, and I have the track record to prove it. From starting my own business at age 13 to winning the Sportsmanship Award at the World's Largest All Breed Youth Show at 14, my passion for making a name for myself grew with each achievement. Throughout the years, I've learned that the buying, selling, and marketing process is all about one thing—telling and selling your story to the right audience. Visit Jamie online at www.yellowbarnmedia.com

Kimberly Cardeccia is a Licensed Professional Counselor who has been involved with horses for over 30 years. She has operated her counseling practice since 2001, following 10 years as an elementary physical education teacher. She combines her professional skills with her passion for horses in order to help individuals surpass the mental and emotional blocks that continue to limit their experience of life. Kim’s unique style of compassionate guidance emphasizes communication and safety (both physical and emotional) in her work with people and horses. She combines her training and expertise into holistic methods to help clients heal their mind and body connection. This affords individuals the ability to tap into their inner strength, enabling them to better direct their lives and reach their goals. ©2014 C & C PUBLISHING, INC. (15)

Nathan went on to attend University of Findlay, in Ohio, where he majored in Equine Studies. Shortly thereafter he applied to and was accepted into John Lyons Certification Program. Nathan graduated from John’s program in 1997. For the past 16+ years Nathan has been dedicated to teaching, applying, and further developing his skills and techniques of “training without trauma” as first learned from John Lyons. Nathan offers a variety of services from private training and trailer loading to clinics and symposiums. More information about Nathan can be seen on his website: http://www.nathancoffman.com.

TIM SCARBERRY

KIM VEENSTRA

Tim Scarberry, owner of WindWalker Training, has been around horses his whole life. Growing up on a farm in Fenton, MI, with long family ties in Kentucky, Scarberry always had an interest in horses and horsemanship. After years of operating a successful construction company, Scarberry returned to his first love. “My horse training business started off as just helping a person here and there. Simply put, I could help friends and neighbors get their horses to stand quiet and easily load them into a trailer.” Now Scarberry has expanded his clients’ ability to interact with their horses in unparalleled ways. “I believe that it is my calling to show people who love horses how to have the relationship that they want with their horse. I can offer them that opportunity.” Visit the WindWalker Training website at http://windwalkertraining.com for additional information.

I have had a passion and love for horses my whole life. My mom actually bought me my first horse when I was 11 years old. Later in life I purchased a horse that had extreme trust and fear issues. I started studying horse behavior and found if I used obstacles the correct way, our trust was improving. He was trusting me as a leader because I was not pushing him when he was scared, I was actually doing the opposite…retreating. When he was calm and confident that’s when I would ask for more. I was helping some friends with their horses and their relationship improved. That’s when I started the business Mobile Confidence Course. The idea behind it is I come to you with the scary obstacles. MCC Clinics create partnerships based on trust and respect. I teach not to push when the horse is scared, how to read your horse, having patience, know when to ask for more and when to step back and retreat! Visit me online at http://www.confidenthorse.com.

Suzy is a Certified Horse Trainer through The National Walking Horse Association and was the Walking Horse Assoc-iation of Michigan's Trainer of the Year in 2008. Suzy has been training the Mystic Meadows horses for many years. In 2007, Suzy decided to open a training program for other horses. She specializes in gaited horses, especially Tennessee Walkers and has a strong background in the trotting breeds. Starting many years ago showing class A Morgan shows, Suzy was instructed by one of the top Morgan Trainers of that time. She had the opportunity to ride fine horses in Saddleseat Equitation and Pleasure. Working next to many TWH and Morgan trainers, Suzy started to develop her own way of teaching horses. Being a well rounded rider, Suzy has worked with many seats, including basic dressage, western pleasure, saddle seat, hunt, barrel racing and pole bending. Using calm natural training techniques, Suzy can help you with your horse. “Every training program has to be developed for that specific horse. No two horses learn exactly the same, just as no two humans learn the same. This is the best part of my job, learning how to work with different horses and figure out how to make them want to work for us and learn. I love to help people, but mostly I love to help horses!” Suzy Wyckoff
