SAG-AFTRA Chicago Conservatory Presents KMRC Tech Night 6 - 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 12 Introducing KMRC Tech Night on Monday, Jan. 12. This workshop includes an overview of basic computer knowledge (both Mac and PC), email and Internet tips. You'll also learn how to personalize your Actors Access and Casting Networks accounts and create social media accounts like LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Tumblr. Learn computer shortcuts, tips and tricks on using the Web and the many options for creating an online presence. This workshop is great for beginners and anyone wanting more proficiency with computers. It is also good for those wanting more knowledge about using the Internet and social media. There will be time for Q&A, too. Please bring your personal computer (either Mac or PC) or paper and pen to take notes and follow along. If you would like to get up to speed with social media, learn basic and general computer skills, or just need a refresher course, this workshop is for you. Please RSVP to Kathy Byrne at kathy.byrne@sagaftra.org. Park for $13 at 10 East Ontario. Enter on the north side of Ontario between Wabash and State, and then take a ticket. When you sign in, you may purchase a four-hour ticket for $13. You will need both tickets to exit the parking structure. Cash only. Debbie Reynolds to be Honored with 2014 SAG Life Achievement Award Debbie Reynolds - actor, singer, dancer, author, champion for the preservation of the artifacts of film history and for the understanding and treatment of mental illness - has been named the 51st recipient of SAG-AFTRA's highest honor: the SAG Life Achievement Award for career achievement and humanitarian accomplishment. Given annually to an actor who fosters the "finest ideals of the acting profession," the union's highest accolade will be presented to the Oscar-, Emmy- and Tony-nominated Reynolds at the 21st Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards速 by her daughter, actor and author Carrie Fisher.
