Sean Hennessy, manager of commercial and corporate/educational contracts, visited the Twin Cities Local on Nov. 14 to provide an update on the Twin Cities Corporate/Educational Waiver. This year, the waiver has created 51 jobs for 25 individual members. Advertisers such as Best Buy, Mayo Clinic, 3M, Science Museum of Minnesota, Bristol Meyers Squibb and many others have produced under the wavier. Hennessy also spoke about the importance of SAG-AFTRA's Commercial Organizing and Recapture Campaign in the Midwest. Both the waiver and recapture campaign are instrumental in outreach, education, enforcement and engagement of the Twin Cities acting and production community. Hennessy looks forward to partnering with the SAG-AFTRA Twin Cities Board and Colleen Aho, director of locals administration, to solidify our member's future in this region. Keep Your Agent in the Know If you book a project through your agent, please let them know when production contacts you directly. For example: If you book one of the nighttime dramas shooting here, your agent calls to say you got the part. Then production calls you to arrange a fitting, change your shooting date, ask you to do something that may resemble a stunt or other training. If production contacts you directly, chances are your agent is not aware of the changes and therefore cannot negotiate further provisions or pay in some circumstances, and he or she can't make sure you are being paid properly when your check comes in.
