Ohio Street, Chicago, IL Transportation: Instituto Cervantes is near the Red Line's Grand Avenue stop. Go north on State Street and west on Ohio Street. Program: Who's Watching Out for You? Panel includes fellow union members: LaRoyce Hawkins, SAG-AFTRA actor and series regular on Chicago PD Tom Lowell, SAG-AFTRA stunt coordinator Lauren Fulton, Directors Guild of America assistant director Ted Lichtenheld, Cinematographer's Guild Local 600 Moderator: Ilyssa Fradin, SAG-AFTRA national vice president of mid-sized Locals Learn the rules and what to do as a professional performer when something just doesn't feel right on set. Who should you tell? Who can you call? Planning to attend and wondering what you should bring? Bring a friend! Please reach out to fellow SAG-AFTRA members and encourage everyone to attend. And, make it your goal to bring at least one member with you. This meeting is only open to paid-up SAG-AFTRA members in good standing. Unfortunately, no guests allowed. Everything You Wanted to Know about Working on Low-Budget Films, but Were Afraid to Ask 5:30 - 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 17 KMRC, 1 E. Erie, Suite 660 Chicago, IL 60611 Are you and a bunch of your friends getting together and making short films? Webisodes? Spec TV pilots? Didn't think you needed to worry about being under contract? Well ... This is your chance to ask all of your questions about working in low-budget films. And, you'll probably get the answers to some questions you haven't even thought of yet. Remember, as a SAG-AFTRA member, you need to be under contract for all work that you do. This includes student films, your best friend's pet project, and your self-produced short film and "no-budget" features. Find out what to expect on set and how these films differ from the studio features and episodic television shows that you are used to. Learn where to find out about these auditions and how to flip a non-union film to a SAG-AFTRA covered project. Ever wonder how to properly fill out a time sheet; how, where and when to sign your employment contract; or how to negotiate on your behalf? This is the workshop for you! Space is limited. Join the Theater Club SAG-AFTRA Chicago is excited to announce a new benefit of membership for Chicago members in good standing. We have been working with local live theaters to set up a SAG-AFTRA Theater Club. This will be run similar to our SAG-AFTRA Movie Club. From time to time, local theaters will offer members free or discounted tickets. Club members have already attended The Sound of Music at the Civic Opera House, I Love Lucy at the Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place, Now and Later at Marriott Theatre in Lincolnshire and Disconnect at Victory Gardens Theater. Check out Chicago's great shows and support local theater. Come learn how he did it. Mickie Paskal and Jennifer Rudnicke of PR Casting will offer advice on how to prepare for an audition, what to do once you are in the room or if you feel like you've "blown it" and more helpful tips.
