Labor in the Pulpit 2017 On Labor Day weekend (Sept. 2 - 4), the Chicago Federation of Labor and ARISE Chicago will once again team up for Labor in the Pulpit/on the Bimah/in the Minbar. Over the past eight years, they've placed speakers in over 100 services throughout the city and suburbs each Labor Day weekend. This is a unique opportunity to highlight the shared values of the labor and faith communities. With all the attacks on labor, it is important that the labor movement demonstrates our shared values. CFL and ARISE Chicago are currently recruiting volunteers to speak to congregations throughout the area. You can register to speak to your own congregation or speak at another place of worship. To volunteer, contact Mike Hartge at mhartge@chicagolabor.org. You can also feel free to call Mike at (312) 906-2432 with any questions or to sign up over the phone.
