From airline pilots to zookeepers, the Chicago Federation of Labor's 320 affiliated local unions and their half a million members represent a diverse group of working men and women throughout the area. A message from the Chicago Federation of Labor Working people are hurting right now in America. The middle class is the smallest it's been since the Great Depression. Every community in the Chicago area is hurting from an economic crisis they didn't cause. That's why we need to work harder than ever to stand up for working people. This isn't just a union issue. This is about a strong middle class that our country needs to survive. Grassroots community and faith-based organizations, elected leaders, and allies in the private sector all have a stake in this fight and play an important role. If we stand in solidarity, we can restore the American Dream. To learn more and get involved, follow the CFL on Facebook and Twitter.
