I’m a 24-year-old architect and urban designer with a 5-year bachelor degree in architecture and master’s degree in Urban Design. I am a fully qualified Part II equivalent architect. After a 5-year bachelors and a 6-month full time internship at an architecture firm in Delhi, India, I decided to pursue a masters in Urban Design in the UK and continue my career abroad to amplify my personal and professional experiences. I actively take part in different tasks, within a team and individually. I would categorise myself as an active, responsible, creative and detail oriented. I love reading, travelling and socialising.

CONCEPT
Land Use
Public spaces
The brief was to conduct an experiment on urban intensification and design a masterplan to incorporate a density of 800 pph/ha. This brief was to be delivered in conjunction with providing high environmental qualities to test weather they could be sustained sideby-side. This project is to design a masterplan for the abandoned railway station site in Vienna. The site for this experiment is the area of Nordwestbahnhof, one of the last ‘patches’ in the morphology of the city. The main aim was to deliver housing (including subsidized housing), amenities, green spaces, public spaces, commercial and business areas. A good mix of uses was to be provided within the site to support the dense population.

CONCEPT The concept of liveability is a wide topic which was slightly touched upon in our masterplan. At the present time, Vienna is named the most liveable city at almost half the density that we trying to deliver. Thus, the question arises, “How can Vienna maintain its liveability standards in the face of intensification”

Oxford city Council require the production of an urban design masterplan that integrates two sites to the west of Oxford City Centre. Both sites form part of the Oxford City Council Local Plan 2036. The masterplan for each site will deliver current planning policy presented in the local plan. Whilst innovation and creativity in design is encouraged the masterplan must return a minimum residual value of £4.5 million per ha.

In terms of the Garden City approach to the design of the masterplan, we identified some of the key characteristics and principles that create a ‘good place’ and deliver what could be called a garden city. These principles were identified using both Ebenizer Howards, Parker and Unwins original design framework and more contemporary views and exemplars. •
Mixed-tenure homes and housing types that are genuinely affordable.
•
A wide range of local jobs in the Garden City within easy commuting distance of homes.
•
Beautifully and imaginatively designed homes with gardens, combining the best of town and country to create healthy communities, and including opportunities to grow food.
•
Development that enhances the natural environment, providing a comprehensive green infrastructure network and net biodiversity gains, and that uses zerocarbon and energy-positive technology to ensure climate resilience.
•
Strong cultural, recreational and shopping facilities in walkable, vibrant, sociable neighbourhoods.
•
Integrated and accessible transport systems, with walking, cycling and public transport designed to be the most attractive forms of local transport.
Green connections
These seem ever more important to a post-covid development, that must be informed by our changing requirements.

High-density Urban Living
Situated close to the centre of Oxford, the development aimed at providing a high-density residential core at the centre of Oxpens which provides mixed tenure homes which are genuinely of local jobs to ease commute and encourage a more active lifestyle. The development aimed at providing each household with sufficient open/green spaces in the form of gardens, terrace and balconies to facilitate post pandemic design. Using the concept of 15 minute cities, the concept of Oxpens Courtyard focuses on providing all basic amenities within a walkable/ cyclable distance. Incorporating Live-Work units within the housing typologies will enable people to live in the same building as their place of work. Mixed use ground floor in flats can accommodate various functions.

CONCEPT The sacred city of Varanasi is one of the most important tourist spots in India. The importance of this city to pilgrims and tourists has led to the proposal of the Kashi -Vishwanath Corridor, which is linear strip of land connecting one of the most sacred ghats of the city Manikarnika Ghat to the famous Vishwanath temple. My vision for this project is derived from the combination of its alure to pilgrims and tourist. While maintaining the integrity of the city, I would aim at creating a space which will display the vibrant culture of the city and promote the big and small aspects which make up the citys fabric.

FORM DEVELOPMENT Shallow exterior slab increase light penetration by reflection from ceiling. Horizontal louvers can be used to cut down summer sun and optimise winter sun.
CONCEPT To create an institutional building that caters to the schools of design and architecture. The design should respond appropriately to the surrounding context, views, wind and sun. the design should be cater to both vehicular and pedestrian movement and keep in mind the aged group of people using each space. In this case parts of a clock wheel are taken up as elements which when brought together form the loop which gives a feeling of an endless corridor, much like how time is endless.

ELEVATIONS Memory plays a very important role in shaping the architecture of a certain area. This semester, we looked into the Tibetan community settled in the city of Darjeeling in West Bengal, India. The aim was to create a space which reflected the organic pattern in which the settlement in Darjeeling came into being . Patterns taken from various pictures of the settlement were overlayed to achieve the final massing for the knowledge centre.

The research questions our methods of interpreting the traditional built environment and processes of inheriting from our legacies, with a wider intent to prevent further dilution of the architectural style they refer to. Design values, principles and elements in colonial architecture by Lutyens have been identified, and compiled for reference of modern Indian architects, so as to avoid notable gaps in the process of translation.
