Sikkerhetsinformasjon Strømkilde •
Bruk kun strømforsyningen som fulgte med produktet. Hvis du bruker en uautorisert strømforsyning vil dette ugyldiggjøre garantien og det kan ugjenkallelig skade produktet.

Koble radioen fra strømnettet under tordenvær.
•
Sjekk alltid at du har slått helt av radioen, før du endrer eller kobler fra strømforsyningen.
•
Der hvor strømuttaket eller apparatets koblingsledning brukes som frakoblingsenhet, må frakoblingsenheten hele tiden være klar til bruk.
•
Dersom radioen ikke skal brukes på en stund, sørg for at alle batteriene fjernes fra batterirommet og at strømmen er koblet fra.
•
Bruk bare anbefalte batterier eller batterier av samme eller tilsvarende type.
•
Ikke bland gamle og nye batterier eller batterier av forskjellig type.
•
Batteriene skal settes inn med riktig polaritet.
•
Forsyningsterminalene må ikke bli kortsluttet.
•
Fjern batteriene fra radioen dersom de ikke skal brukes i en lengre periode.
•
Kast aldri batteriene på åpen ild eller forsøke og åpne produktet.
•
Batterier er farlige ved svelging, så hold de langt unna små barn.

Generelt sett bør batteriladere og strømforsyninger i minst mulig grad være tilkoblet strømnettet om natten eller når du ikke er hjemme. Alle POP-produkter er CEgodkjente og sertifiserte.

Fuktighet og vann •
Ikke la radioen stå i lave temperaturer der fuktighet kan dannes inne i produktet, noe som kan skade kretskortet.

Bli kjent med din DAB+/FM-Radio Strømtilkobling 1. Koble strømledningen i kontakten på baksiden av radioen og forleng teleskopantennen fullt ut i vertikal stilling for å oppnå maksimal signalstyrke. 2. Koble strømadapteren inn i stikkontakten og slå på radioen. 3. Skyv bryteren på baksiden av radioen til On. Radioen slås på og begynner et automatisk søk etter DAB-stasjoner. En fremdriftslinje viser fremdriften for skanningen og antall stasjoner funnet under skanningen. 4. Når søket er ferdig, vil radioen din velge den første tilgjengelige stasjonen å begynne og spille. Stasjonene er listet i numerisk og deretter alfabetisk rekkefølge som standard. Merk: DAB-radiokanallisten lagres i minnet, derfor vil den ikke gjøre et nytt kanalsøk neste gang du slår på radioen. Det er mulig å søke manuelt etter stasjoner. 5. Vri på Tune/Select-hjulet for å bla gjennom de tilgjengelige stasjonene i stasjonslisten. 6. Når stasjonen du ønsker å lytte til vises på skjermen, trykker du på Tune/Selectknappen for å velge. Det vil bli en kort pause mens radioen bytter til din valgte stasjon
Innsetting av batterier (valgfritt) 1. Før du setter inn batterier (ikke inkludert) må du sørge for at radioen er slått av, ved å skyve strømbryteren på baksiden til Av, og koble fra strømforsyningen. Husk å fjerne støpselet fra baksiden av radioen. 2. På baksiden av radioen, trykk ned de to tappene for å frigjøre og fjerne batteridekselet. 3. Sett inn 4 x 1.5V C-batterier (også kjent som LR-14), og pass på å være oppmerksom på merkingen av ‘+’ og ‘-’ og plasser batteriene riktig vei. 4. Sett på plass batteridekselet og pass på at den “klikker” på plass, slik at den blir ordentlig stengt. Merk: Hvis radioen brukes kontinuerlig på batteri, har den en omtrentlig batterilevetid på 5 timer ved bruk av alkaliske batterier av god kvalitet. Når batterinivået er lavt, vil “Lavt Batteri” vises på skjermen. Vennligst slå av radioen og skifte batterier.

Bli kjent med din DAB+/FM-Radio Justere volumet Vri Volume-hjulet med klokken for å øke volumet og mot klokken for å redusere volumet. Skjermen vil bekrefte voluminnstillingen.
Klokkeslett og dato Første gang du lytter til DAB-radio vil klokkeslett og dato bli automatisk synkronisert til 24-timers modus, så det er ikke nødvendig å stille inn klokkeslett og dato manuelt. Hvis du ønsker å angi klokkeslett og dato manuelt, slår du på radioen og følger trinnene nedenfor: 1. Trykk på Menu-knappen for å komme inn i radioens Menyvalg. 2. Vri på Tune/Select-hjulet for å bla deg ned til <System>. Trykk på Tune/Selectknappen for å velge. 3. Bruk Tune/Select-hjulet for å bla deg ned til <Klokkeslett>. Trykk på Tune/Selectknappen for å velge. <Still inn Klokkeslett/Dato> vises på skjermen. Trykk på Tune/ Select-knappen for å velge. 4. Innstilt tid vises på skjermen og timetallene vil blinke. Bruk Tune/Select-hjulet for å bla til riktig time. Trykk på Tune/Select-knappen for å velge. 5. Minuttene vil nå blinke. Bruk Tune/Select-hjulet for å bla til riktige minutter. Trykk på Tune/Select-knappen for å velge. 6. Innstilt dato vises på skjermen og dagen vil blinke. Bruk Tune/Select-hjulet til å bla deg til korrekt dag/måned/år og trykk for å velge på samme måte som du brukte for å stille klokken. Når du bekrefter den korrekte datoen, vil ‘Tid Lagret’ vises og skjermen vil returnere til <Still inn klokkeslett/dato>. Du kan nå bruke Tune/Select-hjulet for å bla igjennom og trykke for å velge, samme metode som du gjorde for å angi klokkeslett og dato, for å endre innstillingene for: 12/24 timers format på skjermen. Datoformat, DD-MM-ÅÅÅÅ eller MM-DD-ÅÅÅÅ og til å automatisk oppdatere klokkeslettet etter DAB-signal, FM-signal, DAB- eller FM-signal eller Ingen oppdatering.

Bli kjent med din DAB+/FM-Radio Endre modus Trykk på DAB/FM-knappen for å bytte mellom DAB-modus og FM-modus. Vennligst se på skjermen for å bekrefte modusen.
Bruke hodetelefoner Du kan koble hodetelefoner med 3,5 mm plugg (ikke inkludert) til radioen. Stereo hodetelefonutgangen finner du på bunnen på baksiden av radioen. Når du har hodetelefoner koblet til radioen, blir radioens høyttalere slått av, og all lyd kommer via hodetelefonene. Merk: Volumet skal alltid være innenfor rimelighetens grenser.

Bruk av din DAB+/FM-Radio DAB-modus Kontroller at radioen er i DAB-modus. Hvis du ikke allerede er i DAB-modus, trykk på DAB/ FM-knappen for å gå til DAB-modus (sjekk skjermen). Første gang du bruker radioen eller hvis stasjonslisten er tom, vil radioen automatisk begynne og søke etter DAB-stasjoner. En fremdriftslinje viser fremdriften for skanningen og antall stasjoner funnet under skanningen. Hvis du lyttet til en DAB-stasjon da du slo av radioen, vil denne stasjonen velges automatisk når du slår på radioen igjen.
Teleskopantenne Sørg for at teleskopantennen er trukket helt ut før du prøver å stille inn på en DAB-stasjon (vertikal stilling anbefales). Dette vil sikre at maksimal signalstyrke er tilgjengelig når radioen begynner å skanne. Å trekke ut antennen helt sikrer også best mulig lydkvalitet.
Bytte DAB-stasjon I DAB-modus 1. Hvis du ikke allerede er i DAB-modus, trykk på DAB/FM-knappen. 2. Vri på Tune/Select-hjulet for å bla gjennom de tilgjengelige stasjonene i stasjonslisten. Når stasjonen du ønsker å lytte til vises på skjermen, trykker du på Tune/Selectknappen. Det vil bli en kort pause mens radioen finner frem til den valgte stasjonen.
Skanne etter DAB-stasjoner Med en DAB-radio blir stadig flere stasjoner og tjenester tilgjengelige, så det er en god idé å gjennomføre en manuell skanning nå og da for å være sikker på at du har den mest oppdaterte stasjonslisten lagret i minnet på radioen. Hvis du har flyttet radioen til et annet sted, for eksempel hvis du drar på ferie, så er det også en god idé å gjennomføre en manuell skanning. Hvis du ikke allerede er i DAB-modus, trykk på DAB/FM-knappen. 1. Trykk på Scan-knappen for å starte et søk etter stasjoner. Skjermen vil endres til ’Scanner...’ En fremdriftslinje viser fremdriften for skanningen og antall stasjoner funnet under skanningen.

Bruk av din DAB+/FM-Radio Renske DAB-stasjoner Du kan fjerne DAB-stasjonene i stasjonslisten som ikke kan mottas i ditt område. Disse er oppført med forstavelsen ’?’ 1. Trykk på Menu-knappen. ‘DAB <Full Scanning>’ vises. Bruk den roterbare Tune/Selectkontrollen for å bla deg til ‘Renske’. Trykk på Tune/Select for å velge. 2. ‘Renske ? Ja <Nei>’ vises på skjermen. Bruk Tune/Select-hjulet til å bla deg til ’Ja’. Trykk på Tune/Select-knappen for å velge og renske stasjonslisten. Stasjoner med forstavelsen ’?’ vil nå ikke lenger vises. Trykk på Menu-knappen for å returnere til hjemskjermen.
Lagre en forvalgt DAB-stasjon Radioen kan lagre opptil 10 DAB-stasjoner i sitt forhåndsinnstilte minne for umiddelbar tilgang til dine favorittstasjoner. Merk: Når du lagrer forhåndsinnstilte DAB-radiostasjoner, vil de ikke overskrive dine forhåndsinnstilte FM-stasjoner. 1. Still inn radioen til stasjonen du ønsker å forhåndsinnstille. 2. Trykk og hold på Preset-knappen. ’Lagre Forvalg <1: (Tom) >’ vises på skjermen hvis ingen tidligere stasjon har blitt lagret der. 3. Bruk Tune/Select-hjulet for å bla deg frem til den plasseringen du vil at din favorittstasjon skal lagres på (1-10). 4. Trykk på Tune/Select-knappen for å velge. Skjermen vil bekrefte ’Forvalg X lagret’, der ’X’ er nummeret på forvalget (1-10). Merk: Hvis det allerede finnes en eksisterende DAB-stasjon lagret under en forhåndsinnstilling, vil den bli overskrevet når du lagrer den nye stasjonen.
Bytt til en forhåndsinnstilt DAB-stasjon I DAB-modus 1. Trykk på Preset-knappen. ’Hent Forvalg <1: >’ vises på skjermen og navnet eller frekvensen på stasjonen som er lagret der vil vises. Hvis ingen stasjonen er lagret der, vil ’(Tom)’ vises på skjermen.

Bruk av din DAB+/FM-Radio 2. Bruk Tune/Select-hjulet til å bla til den forvalgte stasjonen du ønsker å høre på (110). Trykk på Tune/Select-knappen for å velge. Radioen vil umiddelbart velge denne stasjonen og begynne og spille. Merk: Hvis ingen DAB-stasjon er lagret under den forhåndsinnstilte knappen, vil “Tomt forvalg” vises og radioen vil gå tilbake til den tidligere valgte radiostasjonen.
DAB skjerminformasjon Når du lytter til en DAB-stasjon kan du endre informasjonen som vises på den andre linjen på skjermen. Det finnes flere forskjellige typer informasjon som sendes av kringkasteren. •
Dynamic Label Segment (DLS) Dette er rullende tekstinformasjon fra kringkasteren. Informasjonen kan være navnet på artister eller musikktittel, DJ-navn, kontaktinformasjon for radiostasjonen etc.
•
Signalstyrke En tom vil vises på den andre linjen på skjermen for å indikere minimum signalstyrken for akseptabel lytting. Raden av faste rektangler indikerer den faktiske signalstyrken du mottar. Jo sterkere signal, jo lenger til høyre vil rekken av solide rektangler være.
•
Programtype (PTY) – for eksempel ’Rock’, ’Pop’, ’Tale’ eller ’Nyheter’
•
Multiplex Navn - viser kringkastingsområdet og en samling av radiostasjoner på denne frekvensen. For eksempel BBC National DAB, Digital 1 Network
•
Kanal og frekvens for eksempel 12B 225.648 MHz
•
Signalfeil Dette vises som et tall mellom 0-99. Det vil ikke være mulig å lytte til en radiostasjon med en signalfeilrate på 30 eller høyere. Prøv å justere antennen eller flytte radioen for å forbedre mottaket.
•
Signalinformasjon Datahastigheten som signalet blir overført gjennom.
•
Klokkeslett og dato Leveres av kringkasteren.

Bruk av din DAB+/FM-Radio 1. Trykk på Info-knappen gjentatte ganger for å bla gjennom de forskjellige informasjonsalternativene.
Dynamic range control (DRC) I DAB-modus Det dynamiske området for hvert radioprogram er satt av kringkasteren for hver enkelt radiostasjon og kan være forskjellig for hvert program, for eksempel pop, klassisk musikk eller tale. DRC-signalet sendes parallelt med lydsignalet for hvert program, og med radioen kan du bruke dette styresignalet til å utvide eller komprimere dynamikken (forskjellen mellom de høyeste og de mest stillegående lydene) av det reproduserte lydsignalet. Å endre det dynamiske området kan påvirke ’lydstyrken’ og/eller ’kvaliteten på lyden’ på programmet du hører, slik at det vil være mer egnet til dine lytteforhold og dine egne personlige lyttekrav. For eksempel i støyende omgivelser, hvor rolige lyder kan bli overbelastet, kan du sette komprimeringen til maksimalt. Dette vil gi en ’økning’ til de rolige lydene, mens du holder de sterkeste lydene på sitt opprinnelige nivå. Det finnes 3 kompresjonsnivåer: •
DRC Av:
ingen kompresjon. Dette er standardinnstillingen.
•
DRC Lav:
medium kompresjon.
•
DRC Høy:
maksimal kompresjon
1. Trykk på Menu-knappen. ‘DAB <Full Scanning>’ vises. 2. Bruk Tune/Select-hjulet til å bla deg ned til ’DRC’ og trykk på Tune/Select-knappen for å velge. Den nåværende DRC-innstillingen har en ’*’ øverst til høyre på skjermen. 3. Bruk Tune/Select-hjulet til å bla deg gjennom de 3 kompresjonsalternativene, og trykk på Tune/Select-knappen for å velge. Trykk på Menu-knappen for å gå tilbake til hjemskjermen.
FM-modus Hvis du ikke allerede er i FM-modus, trykker du på DAB/FM-knappen for å gå inn i FMmodus (se skjerm). Hvis du lyttet til en FM-stasjon da du slo av radioen vil denne stasjonen velges automatisk når du slår på radioen igjen.

Bruk av din DAB+/FM-Radio Teleskopantenne Kontroller at antennen er trukket helt ut før du prøver å stille inn en FM-stasjon. Dette vil sikre at maksimal signalstyrke er tilgjengelig når radioen begynner å skanne. Å trekke antennen helt ut sørger også for best mulig lydkvalitet.
Bytte til en FM-stasjon 1. Trykk på Scan-knappen for å scanne frekvensbåndet oppover. 2. Trykk og hold på Scan-knappen for å scanne frekvensbåndet nedover. 3. Bruk Tune/Select-hjulet for å finjustere hver frekvens i 0.05MHz-trinn. Merk: Hvis mottaket fremdeles er dårlig, juster plasseringen av antennen eller prøv å flytte radioen til et annet sted.
Endre scaninnstilling I FM-modus: 1. Trykk på Menu-knappen. ‘FM <Scaninnstilling>’ vises. Trykk på Tune/Select for å velge. Den nåværende Scanneinnstillingen har en ‘*’ øverst til høyre på skjermen. Det finnes to ulike alternativer å velge mellom: •
Sterke stasjoner Skanningen vil bare stoppe når en sterk signalstyrke, som også bør resultere i en bedre lydkvalitet, er mottatt. Det er mulig at du går glipp av stasjonen du leter når du bruker dette alternativet.
•
Alle stasjoner Skanningen vil stoppe for hver eneste stasjon den mottar, selv om signalstyrken er dårlig.
2. Bruk Tune/Select-hjulet for å velge mellom de to alternativene og trykk på Tune/ Select-knappen for å velge. Trykk på Menu-knappen for å returnere til hjemskjermen.

Bruk av din DAB+/FM-Radio Lydmodus Radioen vil automatisk bytte mellom Stereo og Mono, avhengig av kvaliteten på det mottatte signalet. Merk: Når du lagrer forhåndsinnstilte FM-radiokanaler overskriver de ikke de forhåndsinnstilte DAB-kanalene dine. 1. Bytt til den kanalen du vil forhåndsinnstille. 2. Trykk og hold på Preset-knappen. ’Lagre Forvalg <1: (Tom) >’ vises på skjermen hvis ingen tidligere stasjon har blitt lagret der. 3. Bruk Tune/Select-hjulet for å bla deg frem til den plasseringen du vil at din favorittstasjon skal lagres (1-10). 4. Trykk på Tune/Select-knappen for å velge. Skjermen vil bekrefte ’Forvalg X lagret’, der ’X’ er nummeret på forvalget (1-10). Bruk av din DAB+/FM-Radio Bytt til en forhåndsinnstilt FM-stasjon I FM-modus: 1. Trykk på Preset-knappen. ’Hent Forvalg <1: >’ vises på skjermen og navnet eller frekvensen på stasjonen som er lagret der vil vises. Hvis ingen stasjonen er lagret der, vil ’(Tom)’ vises på skjermen. 2. Bruk Tune/Select-hjulet til å bla til den forvalgte stasjonen du ønsker å høre på (110). Trykk på Tune/Select-knappen for å velge. Radioen vil umiddelbart velge denne stasjonen og begynne å spille. Merk: Hvis det ikke er lagret noen FM-stasjon på forhåndsinnstillingen vil det stå “Tomt forvalg” på skjermen og radioen vil gå tilbake til den radiokanalen du valgte tidligere.
FM skjerminformasjon Når du lytter til en FM-stasjon kan du endre informasjonen som vises på den andre linjen på skjermen. •
Radiotekst Dette er rullerende tekstinformasjon fra kringkasteren. Informasjonen kan være navnet på artister eller musikktittel, DJ-navn, kontaktinformasjon for radiostasjonen etc.

Bruk av din DAB+/FM-Radio Stille en alarm Merk: Kontroller at radioen har riktig klokkeslett og dato før du stiller en alarm. I DAB eller FM-modus: 1. Trykk på Alarm-knappen. 2. ‘Alarm 1 Oppsett’ vises på skjermen. Bruk Tune/Select-hjulet til å bytte til ’Alarm 2 Setup’. Trykk på Tune/Select-knappen for å velge. 3. ‘Alarm 1 (eller 2) Veiviser i tide’ vises på skjermen og timetallene for alarmen blinker. 4. Bruk Tune/Select-hjulet for å bla deg ned til den ønskede timen for alarmen og trykk på Tune/Select-knappen for å bekrefte. 5. Minutt-tallene for alarmen vil nå blinke. Den stasjonen du sist lyttet til i DAB eller FM, vil bli brukt til alarmen. 8. Bruk Tune/Select-hjulet for å bla til alarmens hyppighet. Du kan velge mellom Daglig, En gang, Helger eller Ukedager. Trykk på Tune/Select-knappen for å velge. Merk: Hvis du velger ’En gang’, vil du bli bedt om å angi datoen for alarmen. 9. Bruk Tune/Select-hjulet for å sette volumet på alarmen. Trykk på Tune/Select-knappen for å bekrefte. Merk: Det går ikke å stille alarmvolumet på et lavere volumnivå enn 4. Husk å stille inn alarmens volum til et nivå som vil vekke deg. Alarmvolumet vil øke gradvis til den når alarmvolumet du har angitt.

Bruk av din DAB+/FM-Radio 10. ‘Alarm 1 (eller 2) Oppsett’ vises igjen på skjermen, sammen med ’Alarm Av (eller På)’. Bruk Tune/Select-hjulet for å velge mellom ’Alarm På’ eller ’Av’ og trykk på Tune/ Select-knappen for å bekrefte. ’Alarm Lagret’ vises på skjermen. 11. I Ventemodus vil et bjelle/klokke-symbol øverst til høyre på skjermen bekrefte når en alarm har blitt stilt. Merk: Hvis klokken ikke har blitt stilt eller at klokkeslettet ikke har klart å oppdatere seg fra radiosignalet, vil ’Tid ikke stilt’ stå på skjermen når du prøver å sette en alarm. Radioen vil da be deg om å stille klokken. En alarm kan kun bli satt etter at klokken har blitt stilt.
Stoppe alarmen Når alarmen går, kan du trykke på Power-knappen. ‘Alarm Av’ vises på skjermen. Alternativt kan du trykke på Snooze-knappen (Se Slumrefunksjon nedenfor) Merk: Hvis du trykker på Power-knappen for å stoppe alarmen, vil alarmsymbolet forbli på skjermen og alarmen vil gå igjen til samme tid neste dag, unntatt om du satte alarmen til å kun gå ’En gang’.
Slumre Når alarmen går, kan du trykke på Snooze-knappen for å aktivere den 9 minutter lange slumrefunksjonen. ’Snooze’ vil vises på skjermen, fulgt av en slumrenedtellingstimer, helt til alarmen går på nytt.
Slå av alarmen Følg stegene for ’Stille en alarm’ og velg ’Av’ i steg 10.
Innsovningstimer Du kan stille inn radioen til å slå seg av automatisk når du bruker innsovningstimeren. Du kan velge mellom Sleep av, 15, 30, 45, 60 og 90 minutter. I DAB eller FM-modus: 1. Trykk på Snooze-knappen, ‘Still inn sleep’ vises.

Bruk av din DAB+/FM-Radio 2. Bruk Tune/Select-hjulet for å bla deg gjennom alternativene; Sleep Av, 15, 30, 45, 60 og 90 minutter. Produktstøtte Feilsøking Hvis du opplever problemer med radioen din, finnes det noen raske og enkle ting du kan gjøre som kan løse problemet.
Ingen lyd / strøm: Juster volumet ved å rotere volumhjulet på radioen. Kontroller at stikkontakten er koblet i veggen, at radioens On/Off-bryter på baksiden er på ’On’ og at radioen ikke er i ventemodus. Du kan ha hodetelefoner tilkoblet. Bruk enten hodetelefonene til å lytte til radioen din eller koble fra hodetelefonene. Hvis du bruker radioen på batterier, kan de være oppbrukte og trenger og byttes. Vennligst bruk kun C-batterier av god kvalitet.
Radiomottaket er dårlig: Trekk antennen helt ut for å få best mulig mottak og lydkvalitet. Omsøke etter radiostasjoner. Flytt radioen til et annet sted for å se om mottaket forbedres. Kontroller at du ikke har annet elektronisk utstyr for nære radioen, da det kan forårsake forstyrrelser. Besøk: www.radio.no for å få informasjon om DAB-mottaket i ditt område.

Safety information Power source •
Only use the power supply that came with the product. Using an unauthorised power supply will invalidate your guarantee and may irrecoverably damage the product.

Disconnect your Radio from the mains power supply during thunderstorms.
•
Always check that you have completely switched off your Radio, before you change or disconnect the power supply.
•
Where the mains power plug or an appliance coupler is used as the disconnect device, the disconnect device shall remain readily operable.
•
If the Radio will not be used for a long period of time, make sure that all of the batteries are removed from the battery compartment and the mains power is unplugged.
•
Only use recommended batteries or those of the same or equivalent type.
•
Do not mix old and new batteries or batteries of different types.
•
Batteries are to be inserted with the correct polarity.
•
The supply terminals are not to be short-circuited.
•
Remove the batteries from the Radio if they will not be used for an extended period of time.
•
Never throw batteries in a fire or attempt to open the outer casing.
•
Batteries are harmful if swallowed, so keep away from young children.
•
In general, battery chargers and power supplies should not be plugged in at night or when you are not home. All POP products are CE approved and certified.
Caution: Danger of explosion if batteries are incorrectly replaced. Replace only with the same or equivalent type.
Moisture and water •
Do not leave it in low temperatures as moisture can form inside the product, which may damage the circuit board.

Positioning the DAB+/FM Radio It is important that you consider carefully in advance where your Radio will be situated and make sure that it is: •
on a flat and stable surface.

within 1.4 metres of a power socket (if using mains power). Please ensure that the mains power lead is not a trip hazard.

at least 1 metre away from other electrical appliances to avoid interference.
•
where there is enough height for the telescopic radio aerial.
Never place your Radio directly onto antique or polished surfaces.
Caution To avoid possible hearing damage, do not listen to this radio at high volume levels for long periods of time. Always keep the volume within reasonable limits.

Getting to know your DAB+/FM Radio Power connection 1. Connect the mains power lead into the socket on the back of the Radio and fully extend the telescopic aerial in a vertical position to obtain the maximum signal strength. 2. Plug the power adaptor into the mains power wall socket and switch on. 3. Slide the switch on the back of the radio to On. Your radio will switch on and begin an automatic scan for DAB radio stations. A progress bar will show the progress of the scan and the number of stations found during the scan will also be displayed. 4. When the scan is complete your radio will select the first available station and begin to play. Stations are listed in numerical and then alphabetical order by default. Note: The DAB radio station list is stored in the memory and so the next time you switch your radio on, the station search does not take place. It is possible to scan manually for stations. 5. Turn the rotary Tune control to scroll through the available stations in the station list. 6. When the station that you would like to listen is displayed, press to Select. There will be a short delay whilst your radio tunes to your selected station.
Inserting batteries (optional) 1. Before installing the batteries (not included) please ensure that the Radio is switched off, slide the power switch on the back to Off, and unplug from the mains power supply. Remember to remove the mains power plug from the back of the radio. 2. On the back of the Radio, push down the two tabs to release and remove the battery compartment cover. 3. Insert 4 x 1.5V C-size (also known as LR-14) batteries, making sure to note the ‘+’ and ‘-‘ markings and position the batteries the correct way around. 4. Replace the battery cover, making sure it ‘clicks’ shut. Note: If used continuously on battery power, your radio has an approximate battery life of 5 hours, when using good quality alkaline batteries. When the battery power is low, ‘Battery Low’ will be displayed. Please switch off the radio and replace the batteries.

Getting to know your DAB+/FM Radio Adjusting the volume Turn the rotary volume control clockwise to increase the volume and anti-clockwise to decrease the volume. Check the display, which will confirm the volume setting.
Time and date The first time you listen to DAB radio, the time and date of your product will be synchronised automatically to that broadcast by the DAB service in 24 hour mode; which is in line with daylight saving, so there is no need to set the time and date manually. If you do wish to set the time and date manually, turn on the radio and follow the steps below: 1. Press and release the Menu button to enter the Menu options. 2. Use the Tune control to scroll to <System>. Press and release the Tune/Select control to select. 3. Use the Tune control to scroll to <Time>. Press and release the Tune/Select control to select. <Set Time/Date> is displayed. Press and release the Tune/Select control to select. 4. Set time is displayed and the hour digits will flash. Use the Tune control to scroll to the correct hour. Press and release the Tune/Select control to select. 5. The minutes will now flash. Use the Tune control to scroll to the correct minutes. Press and release the Tune/Select control to select. 6. Set date is displayed and the day will flash. Use the Tune control to scroll and press to select the day, month and year, using the same method as you used to set the time. When you confirm the correct date. â&#x20AC;&#x2DC;Time Savedâ&#x20AC;&#x2122; is displayed and the display returns to <Set Time/Date>. You can now use the Tune control to scroll and press to select, the same method as you did to set the time and date, to change the settings for: 12/24 hour clock display. The date format, DD-MM-YYYY or MM-DD-YYYY and to auto update the time from the DAB signal, FM signal, DAB or FM signal or no update.

Getting to know your DAB+/FM Radio Change the mode Press and release the DAB/FM button to change between DAB and FM modes. Please check the display, which will confirm the mode.
Using headphones You can connect headphones with a 3.5mm plug (not included) to your radio. The stereo headphone socket can be found on the back of the radio at the bottom. When you have headphones connected the radio speakers are switched off and all sound is via the headphones. Note: Always keep the volume within reasonable limits.

The first time you use the radio or if the station list is empty, your radio will automatically begin to scan for DAB radio stations. A progress bar will show the progress of the scan and the number of stations found during the scan will also be displayed. If you were listening to a DAB station when you switched the radio off then this station will be automatically selected when you switch the radio back on.
Telescopic aerial Please make sure that the aerial is fully extended before you attempt to tune to a DAB station (a vertical position is recommended). This will ensure that the maximum signal strength is available when the radio begins to scan. Extending the aerial also ensures the best possible sound quality.
Changing DAB stations In DAB mode: 1. If you are not already in DAB mode, press and release the DAB/FM button to go to DAB mode. 2. Turn the left hand Tune/Select rotary control to scroll through the available stations in the station list. When the station that you would like to listen to is displayed press the left hand rotary control to Select. There will be a short delay whilst your DAB radio tunes to your selected station.
Scanning for DAB stations With DAB radio, additional stations and services regularly become available so itâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s a good idea to carry out a manual scan every now and then to make sure that you have the most up to date station listing stored within the memory of your radio. If you have moved your radio to another location e.g.: if you go on holiday, then itâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s also a good idea to carry out a manual scan. If you are not already in DAB mode, press and release the DAB/FM button to go to DAB mode.

Yes <No>’ is displayed. Use Tune/Select rotary control to scroll to ‘Yes’. Press the rotary control to select and prune the station list. Stations with a ‘?’ prefix will now no longer be displayed. Press and release the Menu button to return to the station display.
Storing a DAB station preset Your radio can store up to 10 DAB stations in its preset memories for instant access to your favourite stations. Note: When you store DAB radio station presets, these do not overwrite your FM station presets. 1. Tune your radio to the station that you wish to preset. 2. Press and hold the Preset button. ‘Preset Store <1: (Empty) >’ is displayed if no previous station has been stored. 3. Use the Tune/Select rotary control to scroll to the Preset location that you would like to store the radio station to (1-10). 4. Press the Tune/Select rotary control to select, the display will confirm ‘Preset X stored’, where ‘X’ is the number of the preset (1-10). Note: If there is already an existing DAB station stored under a preset, it will be overwritten when you store the new station.

The radio will instantly tune to that station and begin to play. Note: If no DAB station has been stored under the preset button, ‘Preset Empty’ will be displayed and the radio will revert to the previously selected radio station.
DAB display information When listening to a DAB station you can change the information that will appear on the second line of the display. There are several different types of information that are sent by the broadcaster. •
Dynamic Label Segment (DLS) This is scrolling text information supplied by the broadcaster. Information could be the name of an artist or music title, DJ’s name, contact details for the radio station etc.
•
Signal Strength An empty will appear on the second line of the display to indicate the minimum signal strength for acceptable listening. The row of solid rectangles indicate the actual signal strength that you are receiving. The stronger the signal, the further to the right the row of solid rectangles will be.
•
Program Type (PTY) - such as ‘Rock’, ‘Pop‘, Talk’ or ‘News’
•
Multiplex Name - displays the broadcasting area and collection of radio stations on this frequency e.g.: BBC National DAB, Digital 1 Network.
•
Channel and Frequency e.g.: 12B 225.648 MHz

Signal error This is displayed as a number between 0-99. It would not be possible to satisfactorily listen to a ratio station with a signal error rate of 30 or above. Try adjusting the aerial or relocating your radio to improve reception.

Signal information The data rate at which the signal is being transmitted.
•
Time and date Supplied by the broadcaster.
1. Repeatedly press and release the Info button to cycle through the different information options.
Dynamic range control (DRC) In DAB mode: The dynamic range for each radio programme is set by the broadcaster for each radio station and may be different for the types of programme broadcast, such as pop or classical music or a chat show. The dynamic range control signal is transmitted in parallel with the audio signal for each programme and with your radio you can use this control signal to expand or compress the dynamic range (the difference between the loudest and quietest sounds) of the reproduced audio signal. Changing the dynamic range can affect the ‘loudness’ and/or ‘quality of sound’ of the programme that you hear so that it will be more suited to your listening conditions and your own personal listening requirements. e.g. in a noisy environment, where quiet sounds might be swamped, setting the compression to maximum will ‘boost’ the quiet sounds, whilst keeping the loudest sounds at their original level. There are 3 levels of compression: •
DRC Off:
no compression. This is the default setting.
•
DRC Low:
medium compression.
•
DRC High:
maximum compression.
1. Press and release the Menu button. ‘DAB <Full scan>’. is displayed. 2. Use the Tune/Select rotary control to scroll to ‘DRC’ and press to select. The current DRC setting will have an ‘*’ in the top right of the display.

FM Radio mode If you are not already in FM mode, briefly press and release the DAB/FM button to go to FM mode (check the display). If you were listening to an FM station when you switched the Radio off then this station will be automatically selected when you switch the Radio back on.

Use the left hand rotary control to fine tune each frequency in 0.05MHz steps, if necessary. Note: If reception is still poor adjust the position of the aerial or try moving the radio to another location.
Changing the Scan setting In FM mode: 1. Press and release the Menu button. ‘FM <Scan setting>’ is displayed. Press the Tune/ Select rotary control to select. The current Scan setting will have an ‘*’ in the top right of the display.

Strong stations The scan will only stop when a strong signal strength is received which should also result in a better audio quality. It is possible that the station you are scanning for may be missed using this option.

All stations The scan will stop for every station it receives, even if the signal strength is poor.
2. Use the Tune/Select rotary control to choose from the two options available and press to select. Press and release the Menu button to return to the station display.
Audio mode The radio will automatically switch between Stereo and Mono, depending on the quality of the signal being received but you can override this function and manually switch between ‘Stereo’ and ‘Mono’. Note: You may wish to select ‘Stereo’ if you are listening to your radio using headphones. 3. Press and release the Menu button. ‘FM <Scan setting>’ is displayed. 4. Use the Tune/Select rotary control to scroll to <Audio setting>. Press the Tune/Select rotary control to select. There are now two different options of ‘Forced mono’ and ‘Stereo allowed’ and the current setting will have an ‘*’ next to it. 5. Use the Tune/Select rotary control to scroll to choose from the two options available. Press the Tune/Select rotary control on the radio to select. 6. Press and release the Menu button to return to the station display.

Press the Tune/Select rotary control to select. 3. ‘Alarm 1 (or 2) Wizard On time’ is displayed and the hour digits for the alarm will flash. 4. Use the Tune/Select rotary control to scroll to the hour for the alarm and press the Tune/Select rotary control to select. 5. The minutes will now flash. Use the Tune/Select rotary control to scroll to the minutes for the alarm and press the Tune/Select rotary control to select. The duration time will now flash. 6. Use the Tune/Select rotary control to scroll to the duration for the alarm. You can choose from 15, 30, 45, 60, 90 and 120 minutes. Press the Tune/Select rotary control to select. The source for the alarm will now flash. 7. Use the Tune/Select rotary control to scroll to the sound source for the alarm. You can choose from Buzzer, DAB or FM. Press the Tune/Select rotary control to select. Note: If you select DAB or FM radio for the alarm source, ‘Last listened’ will flash in the display. Press the Tune/Select rotary control to select and the last listened to radio station in DAB or FM, as appropriate, will be used for your alarm. 8. Use the Tune/Select rotary control to scroll to the frequency for the alarm. You can choose from Daily, Once, Weekends or Weekdays. Press the Tune/Select rotary control to select.

Using your DAB+/FM Radio Note: If you select ‘Once’, you will then be prompted to set the date for your alarm. 9. Use the Tune/Select rotary control to set the volume for your alarm. Press the rotary Tune/Select control to select. Note: You will not be able to set the alarm for less than 4 volume bars. Remember to set the alarm radio volume to one that will wake you. The alarm volume will increase progressively until it reaches the alarm volume you have set. 10. ‘Alarm 1 (or 2) Wizard’ is displayed again, together with ‘Alarm Off (or On)’. Use the Tune/Select rotary control to choose ‘Alarm On’ or ‘Off’ as appropriate and press the Tune/Select rotary control to select. ‘Alarm Saved’ is displayed. 11. In Standby mode a bell symbol in the top right of the display will confirm when an alarm has been set. Note: If the time is not set or has failed to update from the radio signal, ‘Time is not set’ will be displayed when you try to set the alarm. The radio will then prompt you to set the time. An alarm can only be set after the time has been set.
Stop the Alarm When the alarm sounds, press and release the Power button, ‘Alarm off’ is displayed. Alternatively, you can press and release the Snooze button (see Snooze function below). Note: If you press the Power button to stop the alarm, the alarm symbol will remain in the display and the alarm will sound again at the same time the next day, unless it was set for ‘Once’ only.
Snooze When the alarm sounds you can press and release the Snooze button to activate the 9 minute snooze function. ‘Snooze’ will be displayed, followed by the snooze time countdown, until the alarm sounds again.
Turn off the Alarm Follow the steps for ‘Setting an Alarm’ and select ‘Off’ in step 10.

Using your DAB+/FM Radio Sleep timer You can set your radio to turn off automatically using the sleep timer You can choose from Sleep off, 15, 30, 45, 60 and 90 minutes In DAB or FM mode: 1. Press and release the Snooze button, ‘Set sleep time’ is displayed. 2. Use the Tune/Select rotary control to scroll through the available options of Sleep off, 15, 30, 45, 60 and 90 minutes. Stop when the sleep time you would like is displayed and press the Tune/Select rotary control to select 3. The sleep time minutes that you have selected will be displayed on the top right of the station display, e g S15 for 15 minutes, and will countdown until the radio switches off Note: To cancel the sleep time, follow the steps to set the sleep time but stop when ‘Sleep off’ is displayed and press the Tune/Select rotary to select.
Display backlight timeout You can adjust the display backlight timeout. Options of permanently On, 10, 20, 30, 45, 60, 90, 120, and 180 seconds are available. Note: An ‘*’ will be displayed next to the current setting. In DAB or FM mode: 1. Press and release the Menu button to enter the menu options. 2. Use the Tune/Select rotary control to scroll to ‘<System>’. Press the Tune/Select rotary control to select. 3. Use the Tune/Select rotary control to scroll to ‘<Backlight>’. Press the Tune/Select rotary control to select. 4. ‘<Timeout>’ is displayed. Press the Tune/Select rotary control to select. Use the Tune/ Select rotary control to scroll through the available backlight timeout options of On, 10, 20, 30, 45, 60, 90, 120 or 180 seconds. Product support Troubleshooting If you are experiencing problems with your radio, there are some quick and easy checks that you can do, which may help to solve the problem.
No sound / power: Adjust the volume using the rotary control on your radio. Check that the mains power wall socket is switched on, the power switch on the back of the radio is On and that your radio is not in Standby mode. You may have headphones connected. Either use the headphones to listen to your radio or unplug the headphones. If you have batteries fitted, they may be exhausted and need to be replaced. Please use only good quality C size batteries.
Radio reception is poor: Fully extend the aerial to get the best reception and sound quality. Retune for radio stations.. Try moving your radio to another location to see if reception improves. Check that you do not have other electrical equipment too close to your Radio, causing interference. Visit www.radio.no for information about DAB reception in your area.
The function buttons do not respond: Check that the mains power wall socket is switched on, the power switch on the back of the radio is On and that your radio is not in Standby mode. If you are using batteries, they may be exhausted and need to be replaced. Try a reset to factory defaults. Note: All of your settings, including the radio station list and any presets will be deleted when you reset the Radio.
