PURSUE A PASSION, FULFILL A DREAM, TRY SOMETHING NEW The School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) invites you to be a part of our diverse community of artists, designers, and scholars by enrolling in an Adult Continuing Education (ACE) noncredit course (or two), or one of our exciting certificate programs. Engage in material exploration and learn new skills or refresh existing ones in our state-of-the-art facilities and studios. Investigate new modes of creative production, including laser cutting and 3D printing, or find inspiration with access to the Art Institute of Chicago museum, the Fashion Resource Center, Joan Flasch Artists’ Book Collection, the Roger Brown Study Collection, and Video Data Bank. As a member of our community, one defined by practice and inquiry, you will cultivate creative confidence, learning with and from your instructors and peers as you produce work based on your personal research and interests.

Investigate New Ideas, Exceed Boundaries Develop your creative and critical abilities while immersing yourself in the School of the Art Institute of Chicago’s creative thinking and making community this summer. Adult Continuing Education one-week intensives provide artists and designers opportunities to advance their practice in one of the most exciting and diverse cities in the world: Chicago. Emerging and established artists will enjoy the kinship and camaraderie that is quickly established when working with peers Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Coursework is supplemented by evening access to studios and facilities.

CERTIFICATE PROGRAMS Adult Continuing Education noncredit certificates at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago offer unique learning opportunities for adults interested in pursuing an education in contemporary art and design. Achieve your personal and professional goals: Explore a field of interest, expand your knowledge, or prepare for further study with a degree program or other credit-based credential. Your coursework and benefits available to all ACE students, including the option to participate in campus events, will provide you with opportunities to network with instructors and peers, many of whom are working professionals.

TUITION Tuition is $585 for one-week, five-week, 10-week, and online courses. Discounts are available to Art Institute of Chicago members ($527) and SAIC alumni ($439). Unless otherwise indicated, students are responsible for purchasing their own supplies. A list of required items will be provided at the first class session along with a course syllabus. Payment Options: We accept credit cards (American Express, Discover, MasterCard, and VISA), as well as checks and money orders made out to SAIC.
REFUND POLICY • 100 percent tuition refund prior to the second class • No refunds will be issued after the second class begins. All withdrawal requests must be submitted in writing to cs@saic.edu and include the student’s name, ID number, and course information. Refunds take four to six weeks to process, depending on payment type.
