A showcase of student work

What’s next is right now

What does it look like to make work that is informed by curiosity and research and breaks free from the boundaries of working in a single medium? What if you were able to combine text, painting, and sculpture? Or make interactive fashion pieces or sound installations within an interior space you designed?

Take a look at the work of some of our students to see how our interdisciplinary curriculum helped them follow their passion and bring their visions to fruition.

At SAIC, we want you to experiment, make choices, and follow a path that is uniquely your own.

“Skateboarding and graffiti culture have always gone hand in hand, whether it’s creativity, self expression, flow style, or rebellious nature. Intentionally blank, this chair allows the public to decorate (graffiti) with complete self expression.” Ollie James White

“The furniture poses as characters taking part in unceremonious exchanges. In pursuing an amalgamation of craft techniques and industrial materials, credit is given to the beauty of the ready-made and vestigial craft techniques endure within a new context.”

“These hand-embroidered banners feature notes exchanged between two teenage friends. Each hour spent sewing is an act of meditation and preservation of these words while reflecting on the covert forces that have guided choices and shaped perceptions of the world.”
