The Schools of Saint Mary Elementary School Blood Drive a Success!

Congratulations to Mrs. Schnatz and her 4th-grade students who served as “Little Doctors” for the day and did a fantastic job running the Blood Drive on March 22, 2023, in collaboration with New York Blood Center. Thank you to all the parishioners, friends, families, teachers, and staff who donated to help work towards closing the gap on the critical blood shortage in our area. Thanks to their generosity, there were 61 donations, which will save 183 lives! In addition, we are grateful to all the St. Mary’s Elementary School students who donated $5 to “Dress in Red.” They raised $1,373.00 to give to the *Clever Cricket Cure Team, who, in turn, will present the money to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Great job, St. Mary’s!

*The Clever Cricket Cure Team was founded by St. Mary’s Elementary students (now alums), who began their campaign in memory of their fourth-grade teacher, Mrs. Annie Salzman, after she courageously lost her battle with leukemia. Katie Miller, Farrell Duffy, and Ryann Duffy are Student Visionaries of the Year with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
