In the Gospel today, Jesus gives us the blessings of serving the poor, hungry and weeping people, for you will then rejoice and leap for joy. But Jesus also teaches us the decisiveness of choice: blessing or woe. Choosing to help those who are sufering will fll your heart with the blessing of Jesus and indeed your reward will be great in heaven.

Our St. Vincent de Paul Conference is able to help our neighbors in need through the generosity of our St. Mary’s parishioners. Each time you donate, either through the collection slots at the doors of the church, or in an envelope marked for St. Vincent de Paul, you are helping our neighbors within St. Mary’s Parish. NJHS Spearheads Community-wide Coat Drive

Earlier this month, the National Junior Honor Society of Saint Mary’s Middle School, in partnership with the Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SVdP) St. Mary’s Parish Conference, took the initiative to host a Winter Coat Drive. Under the careful guidance of their moderator, Mrs. Jennifer Schnatz, the students meticulously planned and executed their service project. The weeklong Drive, well-publicized in advance, resulted in an overwhelming number of new and gently used warm coats. Mrs. Rosa Stein, president of the St. Mary’s Parish Conference, shared, “These donations will directly benefit many less fortunate individuals and families with children that the Long Island Chapter of SVdP serves. We are immensely proud of these NJHS students for their initiative and consideration for those struggling to provide for their families. Their collective effort has significantly impacted our local community, helping our neighbors in need combat the continuing frigid temperatures this Winter. This Drive truly reflects the Gospel values they have learned and the virtues of the NJHS model they uphold.”

“Thank you to everyone who helped make this Winter Coat Drive a tremendous success! In addition to helping those in need, the experience created real-life, teachable moments for the students from start to finish – especially as they witnessed the power of the St. Mary’s community when they were called upon for help. Learning

arish SVdP Conference was for the children of God’s work in action. We look forward to ries on future service stated Mrs. Schnatz.

about the work of the Parish SVdP Conference was inspiring for the children and me as an example of God’s work in action. We look forward to working with more Parish Ministries on future service projects,” stated Mrs. Schnatz.

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul Long Island Chapter dispatched a box truck on Friday, February 7, 2025, to pick up the many generous donations of coats made by the community. The students were able to see the culmination of the Drive and celebrate the fruits of their labor upon loading hundreds of coats into the truck. Great job, NJHS – great job!

Prayer to the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus

Heart of Jesus in the Eucharist, I adore You.

Sweet Companion of our exile, I seek You.

Holy God become man, I beat with Your Heart.

Eucharistic Heart of Jesus, solitary, abandoned, humiliated, cursed, despised, outraged, ignored by men, have mercy on us.

Lover of our hearts, pleading for Your beloved, patiently waiting for us, eager to hear our confdences, desirous of our devotion, have mercy on us.

Jesus, Victim, I want to comfort You. I unite myself with You. I ofer myself in union with You. I count myself as nothing before You. I desire to forget myself and think only of You, to be forgotten and rejected for love of You, not to be understood, not to be loved, except by You. I will hold my peace that I may listen to You.

I will forsake myself in order to be lost in You.

Grant that I may quench Your thirst for my salvation, Your burning thirst for my sanctifcation, and that, being purged, I may give You a true and pure love. I no longer want to deny Your expectations. Take me. I give myself to You.

Heart of grace, silent and wishing to speak, Refuge of the hidden life, Sharer of the secrets of union with God, Eucharistic Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us.

Let the little children come to me... (Matt 19:14) All Children Are Invited to Participate in Children’s Liturgy of the Word Every Sunday at the 9:00 AM Mass

Interested in becoming a CLOW Prayer Leader? Please contact Jane Cliford at bulletin@stmary. ws or sit in with us on a Sunday. Materials and training are provided; scheduling is fexible.

I entrust to You all my actions and thoughts –my mind, that You may enlighten it, my heart, that You may fll it, my will, that You may establish it, my soul and body, that You may feed and sustain them. Eucharistic Heart of Jesus, Whose Blood is the life of my soul, may it no longer be I who live, but You alone Who lives in me.
