Saturday,

June 17th - The Immaculate Heart of Mary

This feast is celebrated on the Saturday following the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. “The Immaculate Heart of Mary is a special form of devotion to the physical heart of Mary. It is Mary’s love for God, her love for her Son, and her love for all people that draws us to want to study and to imitate her. In his Gospel, St. Luke mentioned this devotion twice, saying that Mary kept what Jesus was saying and doing in her heart. Mary’s Immaculate Heart is typically pictured with flames representing her burning or undying love. Her Heart is encircled by roses or lilies symbolizing her joys and her purity, and oftentimes, a sword pierces the heart reflecting the prophecy of Simeon in the Gospel of St. Luke. Mary’s Heart is a symbol of her compassion and her sinlessness.” - The Illustrated Book of Mary

The Rosary Society’s Statue of Our Lady of Fatima

In 2017, the centennial anniversary of the apparition of our Lady at Fatima, St. Mary’s Rosary Society received the gift of a beautiful statue of Our Lady of Fatima. This statue is a traveling statue, and came to us with the requirement that its presence be shared throughout our parish. The statue of Our Lady has been “visiting” with Rosarians and St. Mary’s friends and families in their homes since that time. For those whom Mary has visited, she has brought peace, hope, comfort, strength and renewed faith.

As the Rosary Society continues this ministry, please let us know if you would like a special visit with the statue of Our Lady of Fatima in your home. For more information please contact Rosarian Mary Lou de Venoge by Email at: doggonelab@msn.com
