Society of St. Vincent de Paul

In the Gospel today we hear Jesus say to his disciples, “The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few; so ask the master of the harvest to send laborers for his harvest.” Have you considered answering the call to join the Society of St. Vincent de Paul?

Our St. Vincent de Paul Conference is able to help our neighbors in need through the generosity of our St. Mary’s parishioners. Each time you donate, either through the collection slots at the doors of the church, or in an envelope marked for St. Vincent de Paul, you are helping our neighbors within St. Mary’s Parish. If you or someone you know is in need of assistance, contact the St. Vincent de Paul Society at 516-627-0385, ext. 1125, or email SVDP@stmary.ws. To donate furniture, clothing or household items, please call the store in Garden City Park at 516-746-8250. Thank you for your continued support.

About Emily Hanlon:

Having converted late in life after watching the joy that faith brought to her husband and three sons, she, like her sleuths in the Martha and Marya mysteries, now goes to daily Mass, is a eucharistic minister, and is active in the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Through her books, Emily shares her love of the church and of a good “whodunit.”

As the Adult Choir season closes on Father’s Day, the Parish of St. Mary extends wholehearted gratitude and blessings for the excellent music by which we have blessed during the past season. The parish choir weekly dedicates many hours in rehearsal and in service for weekly liturgies, holydays, and solemn feasts. They lift and inspire our hearts and our liturgies to great joy as well as sooth us with melodies of comfort and inspiration. Many parishes no longer have choirs, but we rejoice in that St. Mary’s has had a choir for over 50 years. Today we acknowledge them by name and pray their rewards be many for their unswerving service to the Lord Jesus, his Blessed Mother Mary, and the Parish of St. Mary. Sincerely, Robert C. Levulis, Director of Music
