FASHION AWARDS 2021 Guests arrived on the steps of the Royal Albert Hall, and braced the cold (it was a shivery two degrees) in truly spectacular style. The VIPs were then seated for a ceremony full of speeches, performances and some unexpected surprises all hosted by Billy Porter who turned up on the red carpet flanked by a troupe of performative dancers all wearing Richard Quinn. This year the likes of Daniel Lee for Bottega Veneta, Demna Gvasalia for Balenciaga, Jonathan

Anderson for JW Anderson and Loewe, Kim Jones for Dior Men and Fendi, Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons for Prada battled it out for the coveted Designer of the Year award. Meanwhile the BFC Foundation Award saw Bethany Williams, Bianca Saunders, Nensi Dojaka, Priya Ahluwalia and Richard Quinn go head to head. With The Fashion Awards being what it is, the celebs were dressed up to the nines for the evening, with everything from bright face paint to neon outfits spotted


on the red carpet. Dozens of major fashion industry names were in attendance, including design icon Tommy Hilfiger. Elsewhere the Outstanding Achievement Award, which in the past has gone to Miuccia Prada and Giorgio Armani, was given to Tommy Hilfiger for his contribution to the global fashion industry and his continued commitment to creating an inclusive brand that champions people from all backgrounds and experiences. Additionally, the event recognised 50 of the most innovative and inspiring young creative talent from around the world as part of New Wave: Creatives. Below are all the winners from the evening…

MOBO AWARDS 2021 This year’s MOBO awards was held on Sunday, 5 December, at Coventry building society arena, England in a night which celebrated black artists from across the UK, Africa and Caribbean among others. MOBO stands for Music of

Black Origin, the awards have been running for 25 years and celebrate genres such as Hip Hop, Grime, RnB, Soul, Reggae, Jazz, Gospel, and African music talent. The ceremony, was hosted by multi-platinum-selling artist


and actress Leigh-Anne Pinnock and comedian and broadcaster Munya Chawawa, with special guest host Eddie Kadi, who presents BBC Radio 1Xtra’s Official UK Afrobeats Chart Show. The ceremony, which showcases the best black music in the UK, Africa, the Caribbean, and beyond, also hailed London rapper Central Cee as the best drill act. Rapper Dave won album of the year after picking up the most MOBO nominations for

his critically-acclaimed second album, We're All Alone in This Together. What a night! Little Simz and Ghetts were among the many winners at this year’s Mobo awards after claiming their first trophies for best male and female act at the glamourous 24th annual ceremony on Sunday. Nigerian pop star Wizkid also won two awards, for best African act and best international act.

performances by Ghetts, Pa Salieu, Stefflon Don and Ms Banks, Bree Runway, Potter Payper, Tems, NSG and Enny.

Legendary world heavyweight champion boxer Frank Bruno MBE was honored with the MOBO Inspiration Award, in recognition of his indelible impact on British sport, having battled racism and mental health stigma in and outside the ring during his storied rise to the top.
