Message from Mike Dear Innisbrook Members, Happy November and happy holiday season! We have been busy planning many fun events for the upcoming holiday season which I’m sure we will all enjoy together. In less than 60 days we will be especially excited to know the resort is starting a bright and shiny New Year with a beautiful, modernized room product. Our staff and sales team are especially eager to show off our new look to future guests and groups that have been expressing interest in returning to Innisbrook in 2020. This is just the first step in what I’m sure will be a more profitable and prosperous year ahead. As always, my door is open and I look forward to sharing the holiday season with each of you. Our members are one of our biggest blessings and for that we are always thankful. Warmest regards,

J. Michael Williams Managing Director

From the Desk of the Director of Golf Valued Members, It’s hard to believe the holiday season is already upon us. Please note that with Thanksgiving being a week later this year, our Copperhead Overseeding Schedule also begins a week later. This has the Copperhead closing on Monday, November 18 and reopening on Thursday, November 28. Another date that is worth mentioning is Monday, January 20; this is the day the Copperhead goes Cart Paths Only in preparation for the Valspar Championship. As you may have already seen, we are very excited to get the number one player in the world, Brooks Koepka, as an early commitment to play in this year’s Valspar Championship. Dates for the Championship are Thursday, March 19 through Sunday, March 22. This early commitment gives us every reason to believe we will have one of our strongest fields ever here at Innisbrook. I hope to see you there and look forward to seeing you around the Club,

Bobby Barnes

P.S. I hope to see everyone at our Pro Shootout played on the Copperhead at 3:00 pm on Monday, November 11. (There is one free cocktail for those at registration before 2:30 pm!)

"From Within the Tee Box" By Director of Golf Instruction, Dawn Mercer

Define your Putting… REFLECTIVE

REACTIVE

Relating to or characterized by deep thought.

Acting in response to a situation rather than creating or controlling it.

Many long putts are missed more by poor distance control versus direction. Once you’ve determined the line, let it flow with instinctive energy to roll the correct distance.

REACTIVE DRILLS: · Look at the hole and putt · Putt with your eyes closed · Drop a ball and go to random targets without a practice stroke or analyzing the green · Putt with one hand

For shorter putts, once you have determined the line, let it flow with complete trust and commitment. Try to make your putting more successful by being reactive and not frozen in thought. Stay in the present moment without predicting the “future” of missing it which leads to eye shift, tension and too much body movement.

Tennis at Innisbrook A Word from the Pro Dear Valued Member, It’s hard to believe that the holiday season is just around the corner. Please keep an eye out for our busy holiday schedule. We are offering several annual socials and mini camps. Additionally, I want to update everyone on the Professional Tournaments coming in April of 2020. Innisbrook is revitalizing the U.S. Pro Women’s Clay Court Championship played April 12 – 19, 2020. This Championship tournament dates back to 1912 with Steffi Graf being the last champion in 1986. Once again, we are hosting the Invesco Pro Series on April 18, 2020. We are looking for volunteers and sponsors for both events. Please call the Tennis Center at 727.942.5241. Gigi Fernández had three very successful Tennis Camps in October at Innisbrook. Gigi won 17 grand slams doubles titles and two Olympic gold medals representing the United States, and reached the world number one ranking in women's doubles. Gigi is also offering several destination trips to various tournaments around the world. If you are interested in attending one of Gigi Fernández's Camps or going on a destination trip, click on the following link: gigifernandeztennis.com.

Tip of the Month Two Ways to Help Your Mental State During Competition

If it doesn’t help you succeed, get rid of it! If a shot or play is not working, let it go (by making an adjustment, or trying something else). If your reaction to a situation makes you play worse (negative self-talk for example), don’t do it!

Visualize what you want to have happen. That way, you have a target/ plan and you won’t have to react as much. This makes you feel more in control.

Holiday Events ANNUAL CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 22 | INVERNESS HALL It’s the time of year when we deck the halls of Innisbrook with pretty lights and ornaments. The official Innisbrook tree lighting ceremony, which kicks off the holiday season, occurs on Friday, November 22 at 5:30 pm with the Tree Lighting at 6:00 pm. Bring the family and enjoy the festivities planned for our Members. In addition, we are adding the Innisbrook children’s tree which remains undecorated until the lighting ceremony. We welcome all our Innisbrook families to bring their own hand made or special ornaments to place on Innisbrook’s special children’s tree that evening.

HOLIDAY GIF T SHOW Immediately following the Tree Lighting is the Member-exclusive preview and shopping event for the Holiday Gift Show. The show continues through Saturday, November 23 and is open to the public. It is a festive start to the holiday season.

Caramel Apple Mule Who doesn’t want to get on the mule wagon! Jump on for a November Innisbrook treat. This is so simple to make and really impresses guests for your holiday get together or just sipping on a crisp afternoon.

Ingredients Vodka, 1.5 oz: Use a vodka that is traditional and make sure to use a good brand. You could really go outside the box and use a nice spiced rum. Caramel Syrup, 0.5 oz: You can obtain this at the market or even purchase a caramel vodka which Smirnoff makes. Apple Cider, 1 oz: This can be hard for extra kick!
