In the Early Morning
In the early morning, With the sun’s first rays, All God’s little children
Thank and pray and praise.
I would offer, thanks, too, Jesus, Shepherd dear, For Thy tender pasture, For Thy guiding care.
And I would implore Thee, Be with me this day, Lest I from Thee wander, Into danger stray.
God’s Perfect Peace
On days when I feel shackled, Let me not forget I’m free… That You took my sins and nailed them To the cross at Calvary. My old ways and bad habits Were washed clean the day You died. Forgive me when I cling to them, For that’s the sin of pride.
And when I try to run my life
Instead of trusting You, Again, forgive me, Jesus, For that’s not the thing to do. You said Your yoke is easy And that Your burden’s light, So, there’s no valid reason Why I should get uptight.
So, help me, Lord, to rest in You; May others always see Your abiding, perfect peace Pouring out of me.
Frances Gregory PaschUnending Hope
When the darkness is the deepest And the heart is crushed with pain, Light soon floods the far horizon, Birds employ their songs again. Hope awakens from its slumber, Gently spreading fragile wings; And the expectations rise Of unfolding, better things… Filling our hearts with wonder, Lifting our spirits high –Before long, our tongue is singing, Lofty dreams invade the sky. Soon we find a prayer answered, Unexpected favors grow; It’s the season for God’s blessings, Without measure He’ll bestow.
Regina WiencekOnly God
Kneel down beside your bed and pray, For God awaits your call. He knows your every want and need, For He made us, one and all. Sometimes, to us, our burdens Seem much too heavy to bear. They may be “our thorn in the flesh”
To keep us close to Him in prayer. When trials hit like a ton of bricks
To make our days seem dark as night; It’s times like these that we will find… “Only God” can restore to us the light. Whatever it takes to draw us near, The Lord will give us the strength to bear. Let us never doubt His love for us And the assurance of His care.
