Some Things There Are Some things there are one never does outgrow, A bit of childhood lives within us all, There is a treasure chest within the mind, Of all the lovely things we can recall. Nobody ever grows too old to dream, Some things there are time cannot steal away, Within each heart there is a little door, Through which we may return to yesterday. Some things there are one never does outgrow, How sad this world would be without the light Of love to lead the way across the years, Back to “The First Noel” and “Silent Night.” As long as there is someone left who cares, There is no parting and there is no pain, “Oh little town of Bethlehem” I know The star still shines, the angels sing again! For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through Him. John 3:17

Reach for the Star At Christmastime our earthbound minds Reach upward to that star; Escaping restless daily cares, The journey seems so far To obscure shepherds on a hill, Who caught that wondrous spell Of hush and quiet, while our hearts Beat joy no tongue can tell. Somehow we feel so drawn to Him Of Whom the angels sang. We each are free to make a choice, To answer the pang Of tugging at our inner cords: Find peace. His call is clear, To worship not the Bethlehem scene, But serve Him now, and here. His life makes all the difference; When earthbound minds, released, Find victory in Jesus, God’s Son the Prince of Peace! Anna Lee Edwards McAlpin

My Christmas Message Shepherds were led by the angels’ bright light To a lowly stable that Christmas night. Asleep in the manger they found Him there. They knelt by His crib and offered a prayer To God above for His wonderful birth – The message of love sent down to earth. Mary, His mother, tired and worn, Thanked His Father that He was born.

Wise Men came with gifts from afar Guided by the light of Bethlehem’s Star. Oh, that we today could grasp and hold The miraculous event of His birth foretold, This crazy, mixed-up world would be A far better place for you and me. My Christmas wish – reach out for the love So freely sent from Heaven above! Jean Soule
