Guerrieri Center - Concourse Students receive Preview information packets and New Student Reader materials. A continental breakfast is offered in the Guerrieri Center’s Fireside Lounge. Students may also get their Gull Card student identification card. Look for additional information tables at check-in, including:

• State Employees Credit Union (SECU)
(8 a.m.-4 p.m.) The State Employees Credit Union is the banking institution that supplies the ATM on campus. Stop by and talk to their representative to get information on student checking accounts, savings accounts and debit cards.

Foreign Language Placement Testing
Guerrieri Center - Computer Lab Room 133 (inside Career Services) Take a computerized foreign language placement test in 30 minutes or less in
French, Spanish or German to help you decide if you want to take a foreign language at SU and to see if you are eligible to buy college credits based on work completed in high school.

Guerrieri Center - Nanticoke Room 236 Housing and Residence Life staff provide information on goals, policies and regulations, roommate issues, and programs offered to the resident student population. Students who will be living on campus are required to attend this session.

Guerrieri Center - Pocomoke Room 234 Representatives from the campus provide information about access to services, Dining Services, Health Services and parking services for commuting students, as well as search tools offered at the Guerrieri Center Information Desk for students looking for off-campus housing. Students who will be living off campus are required to attend this session.

What do you like to do in your spare time? I like to play intramural Frisbee and soccer as well as read and watch movies. What advice would you give students who are just starting their college career at SU? Take advantage of every opportunity to try something new no matter what others may say about it.

Students MUST be in the Dorchester Room at 1 p.m. to meet their academic advising group. Guerrieri Center - Fireside Lounge It is anticipated that the individually paced student course registration finishes during this time. Students reunite with their parents after they have completed registration.

Guerrieri Center - Nanticoke Room 236 Participants explore ways in which the transition to college impacts parents and students. They also examine strategies parents and students can utilize to enhance this developmental transition so that the college experience becomes academically rewarding and emotionally strengthening. Topics include separation anxiety, emotional adjustment, campus resources and academic strategies.

What advice would you give students who are just starting their college career at SU? First … go to class! Second … prepare for exams more than just the night before! Last and most importantly … make the most of your time here, because the harder you work now, the more fulfilling your future will be.
