Upon signing the contract, an Authorization Code will be issued, which will be used to place all off-campus calls. The activation of the telephone account is not complete until sufficient funds are applied to the account. Payments can be made at the Cashier’s Office which is located in Holloway Hall, Room 219. (See Payment section). ALL STUDENTS ARE ADVISED TO BRING A PHONE TO CAMPUS. We strongly recommend that you bring a standard landline (corded) phone and not a cordless phone. A minimum payment of $25 is required, in the form of cash, check or money order (made payable to Salisbury University). The check/money order should include the word “telephone” and the student’s ID Number and can also be mailed to the Cashier’s Office (Salisbury University, P.O. Box 2195, Salisbury, MD 21802). Simply dial x64022 from on-campus or (410) 546-4022 from off-campus and then enter your AUTH CODE. SU Cable Television Services
Cable television is available in all of the residence halls on campus. SU offers over 70 channels for your viewing pleasure. There is one cable outlet per room. We provide the connection; you provide the cable that connects your television to the cable connector. You can purchase a CATV cable from the University Bookstore for $3.65. The cost of CATV services is included as part of your housing fee, so there is no monthly service fee to have cable in your room. Please note that we do not offer premium movie channels (i.e. HBO, Showtime).
Programming/Troubleshooting Once your TV is connected, it will need to be programmed to receive all the channels offered. Not all TVs are the same, so the instructions below may vary. 1. Select the MENU option on your remote. 2. Select the CATV/ANTENNA option. Change to CATV or Cable. 3. Select AUTO PROGRAM/CHANNEL SELECTION. Your TV should scan through the system and select all the channels available. 4. Select the EXIT option to complete programming. 5. Run through all the channels to make sure the signal is clear and that all the channels listed below are present. If after following the above steps, you are still experiencing a problem with your TV, contact the CATV Repair Line @ x36000. Your trouble will be logged and a technician will be dispatched to assist you.

Salisbury University Network Access Salisbury University provides a “Port for Every Pillow” for students living in on-campus housing and in University Park. We also provide Wireless Network Access in all Academic buildings. To get connected to the campus network, you are required to meet the following guidelines:
General Network Information and Guidelines 1. To connect to our network, you must have a computer running Windows XP (Service Pack 2), Windows Vista, Macintosh OS (Operating System), or Unix/Linux OS. 2. You must have an Ethernet-type network card with the proper Ethernet RJ45 Cable for wired access in select locations (residence halls and some academic buildings) *NOTE: Do not confuse a phone cable with an Ethernet cable; the Ethernet cable will have a large plastic connector with 8 gold pins. 3. To access our wireless network, you need to have an 802.11 b/g wireless network card (most new computers with wireless have this). Currently wireless is available in most academic and administrative buildings. Wireless in the Residence Halls is being planned. 4. Your computer must have Antivirus and Antispyware protection installed. For a complete list of supported vendors and information on the software we provide, please visit our website at http://resnet.salisbury.edu. 5. For students living in University Park, instructions can be found at the University Park Clubhouse. If instructions cannot be found, check with the IT Helpdesk for updated documentation. 6. Regardless if you use our Wireless or Wired network, you will be prompted for a network login and password when you first open your web browser after connecting to our network. You may also be prompted to undergo a security scan to make sure your system is secure before you connect to our network. 7. The network login you will be using to login to our network is the same as the one you would use to login to a lab computer or to check your Groupwise email. If for some reason you have forgotten what your login and/or password is, you can visit http://mypassword.salisbury.edu for assistance or visit the IT Helpdesk. 8. We provide a legitimate music downloading service via Ruckus Networks for students that would like to download music and other digital media. You can visit www.ruckusnetworks.com for more information. 9. If you have not accessed your Network or GroupWise account or if you are unable to login into either account, please go to http://mypassword.salisbury.edu and use the “Forgot my Password” option. As long as you are taking at least one class at Salisbury University you already have an account. *If you are having problems accessing your GullNet/PeopleSoft account you will need to have access to your GroupWise. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Students who have both a Faculty/Staff Account and Student Account will ONLY have access to GullNet via their STUDENT account.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Your GroupWise, Network and MyClasses @ SU passwords will not be properly synchronized until you change your password to something unique at the password site above using the “Change Password” option. This must be a minimum of 8 case sensitive characters. If you are a Mac user your password must be exactly 8 characters. Your Network & GullNet Accounts: If You: - Have Never Accessed Your Network or GroupWise Account or Forgot Your Password: 1. Your GroupWise Account: How Do I Check My E-mail In The Computer Labs? To Login to your e-mail double-click on the GroupWise icon on the desktop. A login screen similar to the Network Login Screen will appear. Your GroupWise e-mail username is the same as the Network Username. Your password is NOW the same as whatever you changed your Network password to. Also, since your Network, GroupWise & MyClasses @ SU passwords are synchronized, anytime you change your GroupWise Password, this will NOW change your Network and MyClasses @ SU passwords (they are the same).
Your e-mail address is: yourusername@students.salisbury.edu (ex. ab12345@students.salisbury.edu) How Do I Check My E-mail Off Campus Or In My Dorm Room? Before you can check your e-mail from GroupWise WebAccess (which is web-based), you must first follow the instructions at the top of this sheet under “Your Network Account & GullNet Accounts.” Once you have followed the instructions you can use any web browser to go to http://groupwise.salisbury.edu to check your email. The login screen will be the only display, so simply enter your login ID and password for the network/ GroupWise/MyClasses @ SU.

GroupWise 7 Forwarding E-mail To A Non-SU E-mail Account GENERAL INFORMATION This sheet is designed to help you in forwarding your e-mail to a non-SU e-mail account. If you have any additional questions or require further information, it is available in the IT Help Desk (TE-113A), (410) 677-5454. FORWARDING YOUR E-MAIL To forward your e-mail from a SU GroupWise account to a non-SU e-mail account, first login to GroupWise. 1. Click on Tools → Rules 2. A window will appear. This window is where you can view all of your currently created rules (You probably will see nothing listed in this window. 3. In the Rule Name field, type in what you want to name the rule. 4. In the When event is field, new item should be selected. 5. Make sure that items are received is the only box checked in this section. 6. Put a check next to all of the Item Types (mail, appointment, task, reminder note, and phone message). 7. In the Then actions are field, click on Add Action, then select Forward. 8. In the To: box type in the address that you want all of your email to forward to. 9. Type something in the subject that will let you know that the message you have received was forwarded from your GroupWise Account (see picture below for example), and then click on OK. 10. Now you need to setup another action. Click on Add Action, then select Delete/Decline, a window will pop up, click on OK. The Delete/Decline action deletes each message as it is forwarded so that messages don’t pile up in your GroupWise account and waste space. Make sure that your message rule looks like the picture below, and then click on Save. Now you will see the Rule window again. Rules that are currently running will have a check in them. If you ever decide that you want to delete the message rule, you just highlight the rule you don’t want and then click on Delete. *** It is very important that the actions are listed in the order shown below. This is because Actions are performed in the order that they are listed. If you mistakenly put Delete/Decline first all of your messages will be deleted and nothing will be left to forward! ****
