UP STICKS Innovators of the Up Sticks trend, are a result of the United Kingdom’s shock decision to leave the European Union on 23rd June, 2016. 72% of millennials were in favour to remain a member of our once cherished united Europe. The acceleration of the trend stems from the backlash of the Brexit vote, and the UK’s unstable economy. The 18-34 year-old generation are determined to create monumental innovations, in the way society flourishes in future decades to come. Avant-garde millennials are throwing out the monotonous rule book of societies conformist culture, and are responsible for the implementation of this new direction of fluid living. Individuals are no longer tied to one location, Up Sticks is based upon the rise of the unsettled society. No longer do individuals aspire to own a home by the age of thirty. Up Sticks innovators are rational thinkers, they know better than to indulge in the pipe dream of owning their very own home. Individuals have a growing appetite to invest heavily in the travel and experience economy. For the first time, society is opting out of investing in materialistic commodities. Communal living, backpacking and sofa surfing trends will become more prevailing in coming years, as the sharing society shifts into mainstream culture. As a result of the trend, the UK economy may experience a collapse in the sales of new cars and homes. Humanity is investing in life outside of the restrictive four walls we’ve built around ourselves. Society is striving towards living a more fulfilling and simplistic lifestyle. The phrase ‘home is where the heart is’ drives the Up Sticks living trend. Pioneers no longer need a place to call home, home is wherever their location may be. Society is revolutionising its once conserved way of consuming, and is finally expanding its perspective, by embracing this exhilarating lifestyle trend.

NATURAL NOSTALGIA Introducing Natural Nostalgia, the new lifestyle trend stemming from the environmentally disruptive world we now inhabit. Society strives towards living a fully sustainable lifestyle. Cities are more eco-conscious than ever before, individuals are now realising how their actions are impacting on the world around us. The relationship between nature and humanity is insecure. With biodiversity declining rapidly, and senior world leaders denying climate change is an issue, society has reclaimed responsibility for their world in every way they can. Our technologically obsessed civilisation is withdrawing from the digital world, and reentering the real one. As climate change continues to dominate media headlines, and global governments abdicating all responsibility, stimuli for the trend has no sign of slowing down. Aspiring eco warriors are revolutionising the Natural Nostalgia trend, and are leading the way by simply utilising humanities natural senses. Touch, taste, sight, smell and sound. By fusing together the two core senses of touch and taste, will transport advocates of the trend, back to a time when society were not as technologically reliant, or burdened with the issues it faces today. The trend is forecast to reconnect society with nature, and unite the world through its shared distressing environmental dilemmas. In future years, the natural nostalgia trend will be detected in communities and industry worldwide. The movement will attract and inspire a multi gendered, age varied demographic, to touch and taste differently. Followers of the trend can expect to be energised, empowered, and invigorated as the trend develops and diversifies into new emerging industries. Simple innovations, such as plant based dietary changes and an increase in community cultivation, will result in remarkable health benefits to those involved, as well as ecological advantages to surrounding environments.
