This trainer covers the subjects of power conversion from the fundamentals to the most advanced techniques, in a comprehensive manner. The modularity of the trainer allows it to be used in courses on Industrial Electronic at all levels. It is implemented in a sturdy metallic case with clear silk-screen printing on the front face, suitable for desktop or demonstration stand use.

Three-phase power supply with protectors. The unit delivers the low-voltages required to perform the experiments in full-safety. It also has 3ph-160V auxiliary outputs used to perform the experiments involving tests on standardvoltage AC and DC machines Experimenting sections, with diodes, bridges, thyristors, triacs, R-L-C loads, etc., that may be interconnected with the other modules to expand the flexibility of the unit SCR/TRIAC universal firing module, 6pulse per cycle Three-phase sine generator and sine-toPWM converter, implementing the basic building block of a 3ph PWM drive, in which both the frequency and output voltage are controllable.

Semi controlled three-phase AC power control Fully controlled three-phase AC control with antiparallel Thyristor and Triacs.
DC-DC CONVERSION: The trainer includes a DC-DC converter (self-commutation chopper) as a study example of DC adjustable power control, as used for instance for DC motor control. The input DC voltage to this module is provided by wiring-up by plug-in cords the elements of the module. The output voltage is adjustable in the range of approx 20% to 100%

DC-AC CONVERSION: The trainer includes a sample model of a 3phase MOSFET transistor stage and a Control Unit providing the drive pulses. The Control Unit consists of a frequency and voltage-adjustable sinewave generator in which the 6 transistor drive pulses are synthesized by the cyclical readout of EPROM memories.
AC mains connection: 3ph, 220-380V, 50Hz (Operation for different voltages and frequency is arranged on request) Power drain: 400VA max. Provide a power supply connection of at least 2kVA peak AC and DC motors best suitable for use with the trainer should be rated approx 250W For DC machines, both the low-voltage (24-48V DC) and high voltage (180V) armature types can be used since all experiments can be carried out starting from the rectification of the on-board 3ph-24V AC or 3ph-160V AC supplies. The low-voltage source is preferable whenever possible for increased safety. The same principles are applicable to AC machines.
