B3660 – ANALOG SERVO SYSTEMS TRAINER
General: This trainer is an advanced and up to date means for the experimentation and study of DC servo control techniques. Investigation of position, speed and speed + position is allowed. This trainer is similar in structure and organization to the B3665 – DIGITAL SERVO SYSTEMS TRAINER, but is especially dedicated to the ANALOG SERVO SYSTEMS techniques. The two trainers efficiently cover the full field of servo control systems. The trainer includes the following parts: MECHANICAL BASE (B3660-MB), with: – – – – – –
DC motor, permanent-magnet type, low-voltage Step-down gear Tacho-generator Optical encoder Servo potentiometer Motor loads, both inertial and/or resistive
DRIVE ELECTRONICS, consisting of a generously-sized power stage capable of operation in the PWM mode.
CONTROL ELECTRONICS, with reference generator, loop amplifier, PID controller and signal conditioners for the analog transducers. The system includes monitoring outputs to analyze the performance of the system under test and produce signals for recording through a data acquisition system.

B3665 – DIGITAL SERVO SYSTEMS TRAINER
General: This trainer is an advanced and up to date means for the experimentation and study of DC digital servo control techniques. Investigation of position, speed and speed + position is allowed. The trainer can be regarded either as an extension of the B3660 (Analog Servo Systems Trainer) to cover the domain of digital controls, or as a stand-alone unit. The B3665 makes use of the mechanical base B3660-MB of the B3660, so that, when the B3665 is purchased alone, a mechanical base B3660-MB must also be purchased. The MECHANICAL includes: – – – – – –
BASE
DIGITAL SIGNAL CONDITIONERS for the transducers. These include both the Incremental and Absolute position encoders, A/D and D/A converters, visual numeric displays of reference and the actual position. PC INTERFACE, to link a Personal Computer (provided optionally) thus extending the range of the experiments to advanced Automation Techniques.

The B3665 trainer includes: DRIVE ELECTRONICS, consisting of a generously-sized power stage capable of operation in the PWM mode. DIGITAL CONTROLLER, microprocessorbased, capable of working in three modes: Under local manual control, under control of a Host PC and in test mode. This mode produces a continuous positioning cycle for in-depth examination of the system operational features.
The trainer comes complete with connection and test cable accessories kit, extensive Instructions manual, PC software diskette and power supply.
