Bale Alit
Subscribed for Dulux Universal Design Competition 2019 Team: M. Ihsan Hernanta Junian Achmad Mahendra Fadhil M. Ramadhan Nurlita V. P. Nugrahanti Salsabila G. B. Tambunan Bale Alit is a disability-friendly universal home that can be inhabited by 2 people. This house applies the concept of an indoor garden where the g arden is inserted into the house to make residents feel happy that is different from densely populated settlements in general. Residents will be more calm and comfortable in this house because the house is equipped with an indoor garden and cross ventilation on the grid on the roof as an air conditioner. In this project my role is mainly on creating architectural layout, visual enhancements, and some captioning.

Museum Friedrich Silaban Subscribed for Sayembara Kawasan Tugu Friedrich Silaban Team: M. Ihsan Hernanta Junian Achmad Mahendra Fadhil M. Ramadhan Nurlita V. P. Nugrahanti Salsabila G. B. Tambunan The design of the Friedrich Silaban monument and museum area using architecture itself is the source of the ‘interest point’. To achieve this, the use of Friedrich Silaban’s distinctive style was applied to the design of the building so that it could bring visitors to the memory of his masterpiece. In addition to being a forum to commemorate his work, the design of this area also supports tourism and local cultural imagery by applying the ulos fabric motif from North S umatra to the masses of the buildings. In this project my role is planning the 3D design for commercial zone and mainly on creating architectural layout, visual enhancements, and some captioning.

Masjid Al-Jihad Nyutran Client: Pengurus Masjid Al-Jihad Nyutran Team: Junian Achmad Mahendra Fadhil M. Ramadhan Salsabila G. B. Tambunan The Al-Jihad Mosque in Nyutran, Tamansiswa is a social project done collaboratively with a lecturer from UII. This design is one of the alternatives presented to the mosque caretaker. The users demand a mosque that is accessible and has better circulation for the elderly. They also demand a distinct zone between men and women in the wudhu and prayer room. Our design was an alternative of Modern Javanese style mosque, contrary to the second alternative from the other team that uses Contemporary style. It has three stories from the ground with no basement. This design came with an idea of using ramp for easy transportation for the elderly to the upper floors. The ground floor are designed for parking, utilities, and women wudhu & prayer room. The second and the third floor are used for the male pilgrims to pray. Unfortunately, this design is not chosen to be built.

Terminal Bandara J.B. Soedirman Purbalingga Architectural Design Studio 5 2017/2018
Terminal Bandara J.B. Soedirman is a proposed design for the new planned domestic airport in Purbalingga. The demand is to design a p assenger terminal with a touch of regionalism. The approach for the design of this terminal is the value of Banyumasan culture. The terminal also applies the wide span structure using glue laminated timber to bring vernacular atmosphere in the place where people come and go.

Design Transformation The design transformation begins from a single, linear mass which can easily be extended in the  future. The next step is to add divider which is a public garden in between departure and arrival curb. This garden also adds visual aesthetic for the users. The use of limasan roof is a way to add vernacular scheme to the building, and by modificating it into rhytmic roof makes it look contemporary and unique.

Passenger Experience Passenger experience shows in the form of space experience that takes passengers from ‘home’ to their respective destinations, while for the arrival passengers they will feel the sensation of arriving at home. To achieve such a spatial experience, the height of the ceiling between the arranged spaces. Departure passengers will be taken through the traditional atmosphere of the room, with a low altitude, then transitioning on the ‘say goodbye’ bridge where they can wave goodbye to their introduction before entering the departure lounge. This departure lounge has a monumental, modern scale, but still homey. In contrast to the experience of departing passengers, passengers who arrive will pass through the monumental space first, then are greeted by a park that can be seen from the void on the 2nd floor, then only ‘arrives at home’ in the baggage claim area which has a low ceiling height.
Passengers are also presented with the tectonic expression of the wide-span glulam structure in the interior of the Departure Lounge as a manifestation of the spirit of the use of advanced technology in the concept of human-time relations. The existence of natural elements in the building can provide psychological effects to users to remain relaxed and add value to the interior aesthetic. The natural element is applied to the concept of human-natural relations into the interior of the building by incorporating the inner park and vertical garden. In addition, to appreciate the landscape, passengers’ departure lounges are given unlimited views towards the mountains to the south of the site. The application of the concept of human-work relations is manifested in secondary skin and ceiling space. The elements in the form of a wooden structure that are lined and dense represent the hair, because Purbalingga is quite well known for its fake hair industry. Secondary skins were installed to limit the view from the public to sterile areas while still entering the wind into the building.

Building Structure The main airport structure is a 30 m wide span structure with laminated wood (glulam) material. Glulam material has many advantages including being able to create unique, flexible shapes, and giving the impression of being homey, warm, and classic, yet modern in terms of its construction. The drawback is that glulam is less effective for outdoor use in tropical climates. Check-in Area

Building Envelope Building envelopes respond to tropical climates by providing cross ventilation with skylights on the roof to enter indirect sunlight. On the roof is given a layer of insulation from heat and waterproof. The wall facing east and west is given insulation in the form of natural stone layers on the outside and vertical garden on the indoor part. This serves to reduce heat passing through the wall.

Gajah Wong Enhanced Green Neighborhood Architectural Design Studio 7 2019/2020
Meeting the need for clean water, the absence of river water pollution, providing universal access in cities are some of the goals written in the 2030 S ustainable Development Goals (SDGs). However, this has not been achieved in Yogyakarta especially in areas crossed by large rivers in the city of Yogyakarta. The planning location is in the Gajah Wong watershed which is bounded by the North Ringroad and Jalan Adisutjipto in the south. This flow passes through 2 villages namely Condongcatur Village and Caturtunggal Village. The approach taken to create a cleaner and more organized Gajah Wong area is to use the Transit Oriented Development and Green Neighborhood approach. Both of these approaches are applied in designing the Design Guideline.
Design Concept
