Have you ever heard of the Overworld before? It’s the world a video game called Minecraft is set in.
The Overworld is a place where you can build anything that you can dream of, dig deep into the earth to discover rare diamonds and go on loads of wild adventures. But it’s not actually a real place … is it?
In A Minecraft Movie, four ordinary humans called Dawn, Garrett, Henry and Natalie have the shock of their lives when a mysterious portal takes them from our world to the Overworld! The Overworld is an unbelievable place – everything looks like it’s made out of blocks, even the animals that live there.
To return home, Dawn, Garrett, Henry and Natalie will have to team up with Steve – a crafter who lives in the Overworld and has become an expert at using his imagination to make incredible inventions. Steve will help the team to push their creativity to its limits, teaching them to become crafters like he is!
However, they won’t just be having a fun time in the Overworld. Steve has discovered a dangerous world called the Nether, and the creatures that live there have very evil plans. So Steve’s team won’t just need to become expert crafters – they’ll also need to become heroes!
You can watch ‘A Minecraft Movie’ in cinemas now
This might make me seem really old to lots of you, but I’ve never played Minecraft. However, I love the idea of using your imagination to create whatever you want, one block at a time. Cities, castles, farms, gardens – there are so many different possibilities. Thinking about Minecraft reminds me of the fact that God used his incredible imagination to create our world. He planned and designed exactly how he wanted everything to be – and when I look around I know that he did a really wonderful job!
God didn’t create our world just for a bit of fun, though. God’s creation shows us how magnifcent he is, because everything is part of his artistic masterpiece. When we look around us at the people, the mountains, the seas, the animals and everything else, it helps us to know God, love him and remember how truly incredible he is.

WStay Close to God!
hich of Patch’s pals do you imagine was the cutest baby? My vote is for Percy the Penguin! I don’t know what species of penguin Percy is, but I think emperor penguins are probably the cutest – they’re fantastically fluffy!
Emperor penguins actually need a lot of looking after as they’re growing up. They live in a superdangerous environment, so emperor penguin dads will keep their babies tucked in close to their bodies in something called a brooding pouch. This means that baby penguins can grow safely!
When we follow Jesus, we’re like a baby emperor penguin tucked in close to its dad. That’s because God cares for us and helps us to grow into who we’re meant to be. Not literally – being a Christian doesn’t make you any taller! But Jesus
Read the comment below about how God helps us to grow
helps us to grow into better people, who want to do what’s right and love others.
This week’s Bible cartoon shows us how important it is to stay close to God. When we don’t, we’re like a branch that’s been cut off from a vine. A cut-off branch can’t grow and we can’t grow as Christians without God. Plus, when we don’t follow God, we’re running away from someone who loves us more than anyone else in the entire universe!
So stay close to God, just like a baby penguin stays close to their dad. Spend time praying to him, reading the Bible and talking to your friends about him. And remember that he loves you so much that he’s helping you to grow into exactly who you’re meant to be!
Penguin Panic
A baby penguin has gone on an Antarctic adventure, but now it needs to get back home to its dad. Help the baby penguin find its way home – and make sure that it doesn’t stop to eat any more fish!

Bumper Bible Breakdown
Did you know the Bible isn’t one big book? It’s actually 66 books put together to tell one big story of God’s great love. Join us as we look at each Bible book and discover why God made the world, what went wrong and how in the end God saved the world through his son, Jesus.
The Shepherd Prophet
Before the kingdom of Israel was destroyed, it was an absolute mess! The people living there treated one another terribly and they’d stopped following God. God wanted to tell the people of Israel that he was going to punish them, so he sent a prophet to a city in Israel called Bethel.
This prophet wasn’t a strong warrior. He hadn’t spent years at a top school being taught how to use very complicated words. This prophet was a shepherd, a man called Amos who had spent his life watching sheep!
The people of Bethel didn’t like the messages that Amos shared with them. In fact, one priest called Amaziah even wanted to have Amos killed! However, everything that Amos told them was true. God was going to send the people of Israel into captivity. Then, one day, the people would return to Israel again, and God would look after them.

There are 195 countries in the world. We’re going to explore 26 of them, using the alphabet to decide where to go to next!
N for New Zealand
New Zealand is a country made up of two large islands (and 598 smaller ones) in the Paci!c Ocean. It was the last country in the world to have people start living there! Nowadays, New Zealand is well known for being the home of a bird called the kiwi, and also for being the country where a famous !lm trilogy called The Lord of the Rings was !lmed.
When someone goes on holiday to another country, they have to remember to bring their passport. That is, of course, unless that person is King Charles III! Not only is King Charles allowed to travel without a passport, but he’s also allowed to drive without a driving licence. He doesn’t even have to follow any speed limits!

You might know the date that Valentine’s Day is on or the name of the current king of the United Kingdom. However, there are also plenty of strange facts we reckon you haven’t got stored in your noggin! So here are a couple of random facts that you de!nitely (and by de!nitely, we mean don’t really) need to know.
Big Ben, the giant clock tower in London, isn’t actually called Big Ben! Its real name is Elizabeth Tower. The bell inside Elizabeth Tower is called Big Ben, but no one can agree where that name came from. Some people believe that the name might have been inspired by a man in the 19th century called Sir Benjamin Hall, since his nickname was Big Ben!

National Pet Day
If you love animals, then we’ve got some s-pet-acular news for you – it’s National Pet Day on Friday (11 April)! There are meow … we mean, now around 38 million pets in the United Kingdom. In fact, more than half of families in the UK have at least one pet! We think that these pets deserve celebrating, and that’s what National Pet Day is all about.
So Many Pets!
Bark-cause … sorry, because there are so many different species of animals, people can own lots of different types of pet. Someone might own…
Dogs! These lively and affectionate animals are by far the most popular pets in the UK. Some of the most popular breeds of dog to own include Labrador retrievers, Border collies and English cocker spaniels.
Cats! These are also incredibly popular pets. Cats are quite independent animals, which is why lots of cat owners let their cats explore outside. But plenty of cats still love a good snuggle now and again. This is Zola, a cat that belongs to one of the Kids Alive! team!
Fish! People can own freshwater !sh or saltwater !sh, which are then kept in aquariums. If you’d like to have a pet !sh, you might consider getting a Mbuna cichlid, fancy gold!sh or betta!
Birds! If you own a pet bird, then you’ll know that you’ve probably got a friend who’s going to be with you for a long time. Some birds, such as cockatiel parrots, can live for up to 25 years.
Reptiles! These pets are cold-blooded, which means that they need to live in warm places to be happy. Reptiles can come in lots of shapes and sizes, from teeny-tiny geckos to massive royal pythons.
Rabbits! Around 900,000 rabbits are kept as pets in the UK. Rabbits are very intelligent animals and they’re very social, which means that they like to live in groups.
Pet Perks
There are so many reasons why having a pet can be a really brilliant idea…
If you’re feeling lonely, stressed or anxious, spending time with a pet can help you to feel better. Plus, they can really make you giggle when they do something bunny … we mean, funny!
Some pets, such as dogs, can help to keep you active! One study showed that more than 60 per cent of dog owners had the recommended amount of exercise, just because they were taking their pet out for a walk.
Looking after pets teaches us how to be responsible! When you have a pet, you should want to look after it properly – even if that means cleaning up after it’s made a massive mess.
Think About It!
If you’re thinking about getting a pet, make sure that you take the time to really think through whether you can care for it properly. When you get a pet, you’re making a big commitment. You’re agreeing to make sure that your pet gets all of the attention that it needs, and that you’ll do everything that you can to give it a happy life.
If you’d like to own a pet but you’re not sure how to look after it, search for how to look after that pet on the internet!
Time To Celebrate
If you’ve got a pet, do something special to celebrate them this Friday. You could give them a special treat. If you’ve got a dog, you could take it for an extra-long walk after school. Why not look at photos from when your pet was younger, or draw a new picture of your pet to put up somewhere in your home? Perhaps, if you’ve spent lots of time thinking about it and you’ve talked to your parents or carers, you could even get your !rst pet!
Make sure you celebrate your pet on National Pet Day!
