Photography is an art form used to capture a literal viewpoint at a specific time in a specific place, it documents a real life. When photographing, the artist has the ability to provide and explore certain details that the naked eye may ignore. When we see an image that is photorealistic we imagine the textured surface and most will experience an urge to physically touch the image in order to attai n a
sense of release to clarify that it is just an image and not textured. The IKEA Art Photography collection 2017 consists of 5 posters exploring 5 different textures of rugs available to purchase in ikea. The collection reflects the detail that can be found in a simple everyday comforting object that many will have in their home. The micro lens photographs explore the beauty of colour and texture.
