The SAMCAR Board of Directors approved a motion to adopt the 2023-2025 Strategic Plan on December 15, 2022.
SAMCAR is a credible voice for San Mateo County real estate professionals and effective champion for property owners.
1.1 - Cultivate stakeholder (member, homeowner, housing provider) involvement
1.2 - Articulate policy positions
1.3 - Foster collaborative relationships with local elected officials
1.4 - Increase REALTOR® Action Fund contributions

The Voice for Real Estate Professionals and Property Owners in San Mateo County.
SAMCAR is a trade association organized to ensure professionalism, protect property rights, promote the ownership of real property, and help members achieve success.
The Strategic Plan is among the guiding documents for the association. It is informed by the aspirational vision and mission statements, governed by the bylaws, policies & procedures and National Association of REALTORS® Core Standards, and directs the annual budget and operations to align with strategic priorities.
SAMCAR and its members are perceived as respected leaders in our community.
Continued efficacy with regard to local policy, which requires a collaborative relationship with local policymakers and motivated stakeholders (members, homeowners, housing providers).

This committee interviews Federal, State and Local candidates for elected office in San Mateo County and makes recommendations to the SAMCAR Board for endorsement. It also recommends funds and support for the campaigns of said officials. The committee also reviews and decides on positions relative to ballot measures in San Mateo County.

Local area Government Affairs Committees review issues and provide feedback to the Government Affairs Director on current legislative issues. Provides an audience for council members and staff. Holds forums for local elections. Members meet monthly at the local level and as neeeded at the regional level.

On Wednesday, January 26, 2022, the SAMCAR Board of Directors approved the motion to create a Diversity Equity
Inclusion / Fair Housing Committee.

Qualifies the candidates for each place to be filled on the Board of Directors to ascertain that they are eligible to hold elective office based on the qualifications stated in the Bylaws and in the Policy and Procedures Manual. Also selects annual award winners.

Reviews the monthly financial reports of SAMCAR’s operation, assists in preparation of annual budget. Monitors financial health and investment direction of the Association.

Conducts a preliminary review of disciplinary complaints to determine whether the complaint should be forwarded to a Hearing Panel of the Professional Standards Committee (training required to serve on this committee).

YPN groups are nationwide and are supported by NAR and C.A.R. This group is geared primarily to REALTORS, however we do encourage affiliate participation. Young at Mind, Young at Heart no I.D. required.
