2023 President’s Message

It is my privilege and pleasure to thank you for attending the 2023 installation of our Board of Directors for this coming year. When I was asked to become the president, I will be honest, I was reluctant. I was concerned after watching my colleagues that I would not be able to fill their shoes. We have some very impressive people before me, including someone I must thank who saw me in this roll long before I ever had a clue that I would be here today—Marianne Zanone Rush—my very wise friend and board member. All our impressive leaders have the confidence and leadership I wasn’t sure I possessed. I am happy and excited for the new challenges of this year because I believe in our mission.

It is our purpose to safeguard and promote the public interest in real estate matters through licensure, regulation, education, and enforcement. We have a commitment to the highest ethical standards in the real estate profession in our Code of Ethics, which is our charge to act honestly and to protect the individual right of real estate ownership and to widen the opportunity to enjoy it. We are advocates for our clients and work hard to protect their rights, helping them achieve the American dream of homeownership. We have a commitment to lifelong learning and a high level of knowledge and expertise in the ever-changing profession of real estate.

And all of this work is supported by our much loved and valued staff at SAMCAR. While making sure that your dues are paid, your Tour Sheet is completed, your lockboxes work, and you are given the opportunity for education and direction to help with your real estate needs, they mobilize volunteers, set up mixers and social events, and are here to answer all your questions and always there to help no matter what our agents and brokers need. They are something that we as an organization could not do without.

I could not be prouder to be a part of this organization and look forward to the new year. I feel fortunate to be in this position. I still am a little nervous about the new role, but I have a wonderful supportive group around me all with the same goal in mind. 2023 is going to be a great one.
