[1] Second floor of a walk up Victorian.
[2] outdoor space / deck, large living space.
[3] The apartment is exclusively yours. There is a common entrance shared with three other apartments. patio included. Our downstairs neighbours are absolutely lovely and welcoming, the other two neighbours we have never yet met.
[5] The apartment is exclusively yours. There is a common entrance shared with three other apartments. patio included. Our downstairs neighbours are absolutely lovely and welcoming, the other two neighbours we have never yet met.
[6] this is a quaint old-fashioned Toronto home.
[7] The unit is located on the second floor, with 3 bedrooms, kitchen and a bathroom. I am looking for 1 person to take over my tenancy, and I want to find the most friendly people to move in
[8] separate unit upstairs
[9] I’ve lived in a lot of apartments in Toronto and this is one of the loveliest! The light is really lovely in all the rooms. I think its a really special spot and really like living here!
[10] Close to bus stop, shopping mall, grocery store, banks and restaurants.
[11] Laundry, full kitchen, one and a half bathroom, patio and large living room with open dining room, air conditioning system, on site mailbox.
[12] communal
[13] 3 story house
[14] Room has high ceilings, a closet, 3 windows that face a quiet alleyway. The walls are pretty thick so we don’t hear each other too much.
[15] The basement would your own space, with private living room, bedroom and private bathroom (off the shared laundry room). There is also a tiny kitchenette with a small fridge and freezer; kettle; and microwave. It's fully furnished
[16] It is a large townhouse near College and Clinton with lots of light and seven (yes, seven!) different levels
[17] The kitchen + dining area, living room, den, and bedrooms are all on different levels, making the space feel roomy. Other amenities include two bathrooms, a dishwasher, and a washer + dryer in our basement. We also have a nice backyard area with a BBQ and outdoor furniture and a lovely tree + a lil garden area. Both the bedrooms are large, with ample closet space and big south and North facing windows and high ceilings.
[18] old (built in the 70s) high-rise building, no stairs to access the lobby. The front entrance to the building has wide doors with sensor activation and hallways are moderately wide. The building has an elevator of moderate size.
[19] The apartment is quite spacious with a balcony, and your own washroom. It’s right next to Humber river trail so it’s absolutely stunning during summer and fall.
[20] The main floor is all shared space.
The room is a spacious room on the second floor with built-in closet space and attached full bathroom (with the dryer for shared use). The room comes unfurnished, and the rest of the house is furnished. The detached house features a bright living room with television, dining room, kitchen with dishwasher, 2.5 bathrooms, a large backyard with BBQ and deck and fire pit, and secure bike and storage space in the garage. Laundry and dryer onsite. (Outdoor photos from the summer)
[21] The apartment gets tons of natural light, has a little balcony (if you’ve got plants, you would love it!) a 30-second walk from the subway, and a few minutes from Christie Pitts, super close to downtown too which is convenient. Our space is beautiful. We are also in the process of redecorating so if you’re into that, that’s cool too!
[22] communal
[23] The neighbourhood is very inclusive and there have been many previous tenants along with myself who have been part of the LGBTQ+ community.
[24] - The house is a walkup. There are small stairs outside and a narrow staircase to get to the unit - The space is bright and the windows in the bedroom face towards another house’s wall without windows so it is private. The living room is bright and very sunny during the day. There are wall and overhead lights.
[25] The apartment is a large 3 bedroom apartment though I am looking to split the place with only one other. The extra room can be used as a home office, workout room, guest room, whatever you want! The apartment has on site coin laundry, parking, dishwasher. The bedroom has an ensuite bathroom and the main bathroom is the shared shower/bathroom.

[26] old (built in the 70s) high-rise building, no stairs to access the lobby. The front entrance to the building has wide doors with sensor activation and hallways are moderately wide. The building has an elevator of moderate size.
[27] : Because we are high up, all of the rooms get good sunlight! Especially the living room, which has large windows. We aren’t overshadowed by other apartment buildings here so the views are very nice and unobstructed.
[28] The building is very old (like 100+ years old).
[29] - third room being a shared studio space - The apartment is on the top floor above one other unit - The available room is the largest and the quietest as it is located in the middle of the apartment. Although located in the middle of the apartment this room does get light via a window connected to a skylight! An old school building code requirement . The room comes with a closet and there is plenty of room for a queen bed, dresser or 2, and a desk - with room to spare!
[30] However, there are lots of great parks and green spaces nearby (Evergreen Brickworks is a 10-minute walk away). There is also a grocery store right next to the apartment. The local neighbourhood is VERY safe, friendly, and quiet (minus the train).
[31] apartment is right next to a train track, so anyone who is bothered by loud noises might want to look elsewhere.
[32] Spacious bright home with east and west facing windows, large deck and small-medium kitchen, separate large living room, and access to shared backyard (we’re gardening with our neighbors this spring/summer - Cement landing strip about 8 feet long with 1 stair to access the wooden staircase (5 stairs) with a right side railing to access the deck. There are two doors, ours is the one with a rainbow mat. Once you enter there is a narrow hallway (27 inches) with a staircase (16 stairs) and right side railing to access the main floor. There then leads you to another narrow hallway (26.5 inches) towards the living room with another staircase (14 stairs) that leads up to the top floor to the deck (1 stair to access) and another narrow hallway (26.5 inches) to your room.
[33] old (built in the 70s) high-rise building, no stairs to access the lobby. The front entrance to the building has wide doors with sensor activation and hallways are moderately wide. The building has an elevator of moderate size.
[34] The large windows and patio offer a beautiful view of the Rosedale Valley
[35] Our home comes with a full backyard and garden space where we grow herbs and food, a movement room, music/living room, spacious kitchen, sunroom and beautiful bathroom (that is mainly shared with 2 others on the second floor and once in awhile with other housemates that would like to take a bath).
[36] communal
[37] two-story house with a full flight of stairs; onsite washer/dryer
The house is a two-story duplex on Dufferin Street, two blocks north of St. Clair West. It has three bedrooms. The room we are renting will be unfurnished. There is a large living room and kitchen/dining room on the first floor, with the bathroom and bedrooms upstairs. There is also a central AC, a small backyard, a dishwasher, a washer and dryer, and a small black cat, so potential roommate must be good with cats.
The house has a study space in the front of the living room
[38] he rent is pretty reasonable, as the lease has been held by a circle of friends for about 7.5 years.
[39] Loft is on the third floor of the apartment, which is the two upper levels of a house.
[40] There's a small garden and stoop (with bike parking) on the main level of the house. The common areas are pretty well furnished and decorated, but could always use some more decor and flare (especially plants!). Loft is unfurnished. The apartment is freshly painted, has original hardwood floors and the main floor bathroom was recently updated with a new shower and bathtub. - : unfurnished sunny loft room
[41] old (built in the 70s) high-rise building, no stairs to access the lobby. The front entrance to the building has wide doors with sensor activation and hallways are moderately wide. The building has an elevator of moderate size.
[42] 14th floor
Some more details about the space: Dishwasher, bathtub, open concept kitchen with dining/living spaces. Laundry in the basement of the building. Heat is controlled by the building. Parking space available at an additional cost. Street parking is also available.
[43] Home has lots of natural light, high ceilings, beautiful hardwood floors, a giant kitchen, a deck as well as a patio. I'm in love with the space and I know you will be too!
[44] two-floor apartment.
[45] 9 floor building
[46] The living room, kitchen, and bathroom are all shared and furnished
[47] - Super quiet residential street. - small three-story walkup building, accessible by a small flight of stairs. The front entrance to the building has a small step and hallways are relatively wide.
[48] - shared rooms fully furnished - Small gated shared backyard w/ fire pit and garden - In-unit laundry, dishwasher, heat and air conditioning, bathtub, separate dining/kitchen/living spaces.
[49] gym in the building
[50] Unfurnished den (8'x8') available in a 1+den condo. Unit has a balcony, 1 bathroom, tall ceilings, ensuite laundry
[51] detached house with 1.5 bathrooms, patio + large garden, shared parking
[52] Private bedroom Apartment on main floor Lots of natural light. Combined bathtub/shower. 2 cats.
2 skylights and 2 sunrooms. Lawn maintenance and snow removal shared with basement tenants. Common areas include living room/dining room, kitchen (with walkout to backyard), heated sunroom, huge backyard with lots of garden space, fruit trees, herbs, vegetables, patio, gazebo, and BBQ.
patio + large garden, shared parking, close to Seneca college, Fairview Mall
[53] 3 story
[54] Bedroom on 3rd floor, kitchen and living room on 2nd floor, bathrooms on both
1 bedroom with a private patio
The shared spaces include a kitchen, spacious living/dining room, and two full bathrooms. The apartment is very bright, with lots of natural light coming in through windows and sky lights. There is free laundry in unit and some storage available in the main space.
[55] Christie Pitts nearby, a grocery store practically across the street, and a library only 3 min away.
[56] house and has lots of natural light and a balcony out back.
There is about a dozen steps to get up to where the first bedroom, kitchen, washroom, balcony, and livingroom are and an additional dozen steps up to the other two bedrooms
[57] You would share the common space, kitchen, and bathroom with one other person.
[58] features a large bedroom, eat-in kitchen, 4pc bathroom, extra large storage closet and in-suite laundry. The ceilings are high for a basement, and the apartment has a fresh, bright and clean feel. For a basement, we think (and have been told) that it's a nice space.
[59] haring a large 5-bedroom house with 3 other awesome roommates in their mid-30's. The 5th bedroom has been converted into a shared office space. We have a backyard with a firepit, two bathrooms, big living room and eat-in kitchen, coin laundry in the basement, and front porch for your use.
[60] -Basement with tons of natural light. - -One huge living room+ kitchen, fantastic fridge -A nice bathroom with ensuite laundry and a bath (good laundry machines too, I know how rare that is from experience) -A backyard, this is technically the landlords but they let us hang around there pretty freely. If your into gardening they might even be amenable to that too. - -Big bedroom with a closet. (This would probably be your room, though I could be convinced to split things the other way so I'm listing those rooms too) -OR-Modest room we presently use for the big screen, watching movies, playing videogames, etc. Could be turned into a bedroom if you want a private studio. -Connected small studio that works great for working from home on a computer. Could be turned into a small bedroom if you want a larger studio/public room. (Likely what I will do, but once again I could be persuaded if you really want the two rooms)

[61] old (built in the 70s) high-rise building, no stairs to access the lobby. The front entrance to the building has wide doors with sensor activation and hallways are moderately wide. The building has an elevator of moderate size.
[62] Main bedroom in a 1 bedroom apartment that has been adapted into 2 completely private bedrooms.
[63] old (built in the 70s) high-rise building, no stairs to access the lobby. The front entrance to the building has wide doors with sensor activation and hallways are moderately wide. The building has an elevator of moderate size.
[64] Less than 5 Minute Walk to Spadina Street Car 5 Minute Walk to College Street Car 7 minute Minute walk to Bathurst Street Car Large deck, and backyard
[65] The room is located in the basement and has a closet, another room in basement with other housemate, and will be sharing the basement bathroom.
[66] The home is a great size and has good windows and natural light for a basement apartment
[67] a large patio/garden space, a garage (good for storage and summer hangouts) and one mostly unused parking space. The room available is on the main floor, along with the kitchen and living room. The Washroom will be shared between the three of us and is located in the basement.
[68] old Victorian mansion in Parkdale
[69] with 1 bed, 1 open concept Den to furnish as you like, with two skylights, 1 shared kitchen, 1 shared bath, and 1 shared rooftop patio. There is radiator heating, laundry in the house, and street parking. The apartment is located at Queen and Dufferin Street.
[70] Shared two story house with 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 2 kitchens, front yard, back yard with seating, and garage. On street parking available. Available is 1 large, bright master bedroom unfurnished with walk in closet. Plus 1/2 of shared room that can be used as a studio, office etc. Bedrooms located upstairs. Main floor very open living room and kitchen with gas stove plus bathroom. Basement has a sewing studio, bathroom and second kitchen plus lots of storage. House if fully furnished except for master bedroom and 1/2 of second bedroom. Storage space available in garage. Bike parking available in front.
[71] detached house on a side street close to that intersection.
[72] private paved back yard and gate with a small garden, in-house paid laundry/drier. Room is a basement room with an openable window, and medium closet. The basement has a small sitting area where we have set up a comfy chair and futon for quieter relaxing (potential for projector movie space, but we have not gotten around to that yet), and a bathroom with shower and storage. There is also a large uninsulated storage room that has been professionally cleaned.
[73] Unfurnished one-bedroom basement apartment for a lease takeover. One bedroom, living room, kitchen and bathroom - and a small sunny walk in closet (or an office space). Beautiful shared backyard and shared laundry with tenants above.
[74] The apartment has a huge entrance way with a big closet and nook for a dresser, big pantry outside of the kitchen, and a really spacious living/dining space with big windows. It gets so much light and plants THRIVE here! The 2 bedrooms are at opposite sides of the apartment so there’s a nice amount of noise separation.
[75] This is an old unit which has been minimally maintained over the years. It’s a bit grungy in places. Everything is old, nothing is fancy. Things don’t always work exactly as you would expect them to, though everything does work at the end of the day.
[76] -It's a 3rd floor, 3-bedroom walk-up with a furnished living room and modest eat-in kitchen. Paid parking available. Common stuff is all shared. There’s a sewing machine if you are into that sort of thing. Bedrooms are NOT located adjacent to each other which is nice for individual space.
[77] The bedroom has enough room for a bed, desk, chair, dresser, nightstand and even bookshelf etc, with a big, very well-lit closet. All four walls are grey, despite the photos. There is an living room upstairs with LOTS of extra storage and entrance to the rooftop patio. Kitchen is loaded: it has a gas stove, dishwasher, microwave, toaster oven and ensuite washer/dryer (free; no coins!).
[78] Victorian home

[95] - fully equipped kitchen with granite countertops, a large fridge and a gas stove - private backyard with a bonfire pit & garden - living room with a big comfy couch and a skylight - 1 bathroom, always kept extremely clean - in-unit laundry machine - I’ve built an indoor rock climbing wall in one of the rooms, so that’s fun!

[96] one unit below
[97] It is a lovely third floor peaked-roof room with lots of light and direct access onto our shared rooftop deck. The room is L shaped with a large closet and mirror and views of the CN tower. It gets both morning and afternoon light and has hardwood floors. Our apartment is on the second and third floor of the house
[98] 2 other units in building
[99] There is in-suite laundry, a big bright kitchen and dining room with a pantry, and a living room with a projector for movie nights. We also share the front porch and backyard with our neighbours, and often hang there together when the weather is nice
[100] two bathrooms, front porch, living room, coin laundry in basement.
[101] Very quiet area
[102] Small fire escape outdoor space (enough for me to hang my hammock and creatively have a lovely little garden)
[103] 3 story
[104] We have a two story house with plenty of natural light and space. There is a beautiful sunroom to sit and have coffee in the mornings as well as access to a private backyard. The landlady is lovely and lets us pick vegetables from her garden in the summer. There is a bedroom available on the main floor and on the second floor.
[105] The house has high ceilings with lots of natural light. We enjoy the occasional drink, so not a sober household but not a party house. There are fire alarms and extinguishers throughout the house. We are a respectful home that values transparent, open and kind communication.
a shared kitchen, 1.5 bathrooms, common areas, a small backyard, and laundry on-site.
[106] There’s a private entrance and porch. Large living room, Kat’s room, small but functional kitchen (+ gas stove), west-facing sun room with the most amazing sunsets, bathroom, and washer/dryer are all on the second floor. The room that’s available is on the third floor, plus a shared large office. The room available is large and bright, with a queen bed and south and west facing windows. All the furniture will stay during the sublet, but I will clear some closet space for storage. The office is right across the hall, east facing, has a large desk and lots of floor space to workout / get creative.
[107] 1960 style apartment
[108] • House comes with a backyard • Plenty of storage in basement area
[109] basement is a separate unit
[110] Our house is 2 floors but the available room is on the main floor, next to the bathroom and kitchen. Laundry down 1 flight of stairs in basement.
- Laundry is included (in the basement), shared with our downstairs neighbours. - Big vegetable garden in the backyard, little flower garden in the front, and a garage for bike storage.
[111] Washer & dryer in basement. Not coin operated! Dishwasher & double sink Butcher-block kitchen counters Front yard & fully enclosed backyard with running water Garage used for personal storage & yard equipment Central heat & AC, control of the thermostat 2 happy cats
[112] the space is a furnished 2 bed/1 bath apartment with a lovely south-facing balcony and 2 spacious rooms and large living room. the room available has a decent sized window and closet.
[113] The apartment is sunny and open, and has a large yard with lots of gardening space.
[114] The apartment is sunny and open, and has a large yard with lots of gardening space.
[115] - The area is right by the road however we are tucked away in the back between two buildings so it’s very quiet for the city
[116] Dishwasher/ Laundry/ Front Porch/Shared Backyard
[117] 2 floors w rooftop patio
[118] kitchen/living room/rooftop patio
[119] Whole apartment, 1 bedroom with large living room, kitchen and sole use of back porch. Small enclosed backyard shared with one other tenant. May be a good fit for a couple.
[120] Your window overlooks the back yard and gets an excellent view of the setting sun. There are 2 bathrooms (2nd floor and basement), 2 kitchens
[121] The common space has two very large windows so we get lots of light ideal for plants. You’ll be sharing the main washroom with one person.
[122] Most of the apartment is on the 2nd and 3rd floor. The 2nd floor being one bedroom, the kitchen, bathroom and living room, with a huge (10 x 10 ft) newly built wooden deck that offers a lot of privacy.
The apartment makes up two and a half floors of a detached house. We have a private entrance foyer that has lots of storage room for bikes, shoes and coats.
[123] The kitchen is huge, with laundry and tons of counter and cupboard space, our living room is a converted storefront with huge south-facing windows and tons of light (and a piano!). We have a big yard ft. flowers, vegetable garden, hammock, trampoline, bbq, much joy.
The available bedroom is also south-facing, modest sized, newly painted, pretty standard. We also have a large unfinished basement ideal for storage of all kinds. 1 totally typical bathroom upstairs, and 1 bathroom in the basement that technically has a toilet, sink, and shower, but is, er, less charming.
[124] It’s over 2 levels, the first is a huge open plan kitchen living space, and the top level has the 3 bedrooms and 1 full bathroom. The space is huge and all the windows face south, so it gets beautiful light.

[126] - Shared spaces include kitchen, bathroom, living room and back deck. -We have plans to give the living room some fresh paint and to fancy up the deck. We welcome input from our new roommate. -Living room also functions as a studio space. We keep some of our creative supplies in the living room and do our best to keep it organized. Our new roommate would be welcome to use the living room in this way. -Some extra storage is available in the living room.
[127] 3 story
[128] The bedroom comes with a deep closet and direct access to fire escape as well as backyard shared by all apartment units. The unit has 2 bedrooms with a shared kitchen and bathroom between the two. The bedroom also comes with high ceilings and cute vintage-styled lighting.
[129] We have one and a half bathrooms, on-site laundry, a large backyard with a bbq and a picnic table, central air, we have stove top but no oven but we do have a large toaster oven and air fryer. We both have enough kitchen utensils to share but feel free to use your own.
[130] 1 room in a 3 bedroom house (the room can be unfurnished/ or furnished if needed)with direct access to large balcony! There is a large and sunny living room, fully equipped kitchen, washroom and laundry room in the unit.
[131] Shared spaces include: kitchen, living room, bathroom, balcony Laundry: Washer/dryer and AC in the unit at no extra charge Parking: Residential Street parking permits can be purchased from the city. Green P is very close by
We have access to the backyard downstairs if we ask first, and we love using it in the summer. We love this neighbourhood and location and hope you do too.
[132] The kitchen and washroom are shared and kept clean. There’s also a living room with southern-exposure windows, great for houseplants.
[133] 2 story
[134] We also have a washer/dryer in the basement and a clothesline out back. There is a cute backyard with a small garden, bbq, and table for eating meals with pals

[1] The neighbourhood is very inclusive and there have been many previous tenants along with myself who have been part of the LGBTQ+ community.
[2] However, there are lots of great parks and green spaces nearby (Evergreen Brickworks is a 10-minute walk away). There is also a grocery store right next to the apartment. The local neighbourhood is VERY safe, friendly, and quiet (minus the train).

[1] Our landlords and all neighbors are queer friendly folk.
I want to be clear that I only have experience with how they interact with cis folks. I have no reason to think they would treat a trans person any differently but I cannot be sure. This would be a convo I would have with them on your behalf if you wanted me to vet them first.
I cannot confirm the safety of this space for BIPOC and folks that identify differently from myself in the queer community.
[2] I am somewhat in between an introvert and extrovert. I would say hi and have a short conversation every now and then but I wouldn't get too deep into your space and I expect the same. So, this is a perfect spot for introvert folks out there.
[3] The area feels queer safe, and I have loved living here, although I am a white, Scottish, bisexual cis female who has only lived in Toronto a year - so I can only speak from my own experience.
[4] This is a Queer-friendly unit
Overall, we value each other's mental health and space if one works from home, wishes to study, or is generally very quiet and values time alone.
We're clean, polite, like to laugh, and also love talking and sharing knowledge and experiences. Whoever is willing to live with nice, kind, open-minded, and respectful individuals , feel free to reach out to us to plan a visit!!
[5] a leftist
I’m an outgoing introvert and like being friends with my roommates and am always down to hang but also think its important to have our own stuff going on!
WHAT I’M LOOKING FOR: Ideally you are clean/tidy in shared spaces in a similar life stage who has lived with roommates before. Someone who takes covid precautions seriously and is comfortable communicating directly. I am a pretty direct communicator and tend to do well with those who do the same. A person who is anti-oppressive/anti-racist.
[6] lived with others in the LGBTQIA+ community. I have had great success finding my last roommate via this group
[7] "- LGBTQ+ community friendly home -Must be a member of the LGBTQ community. Must be tolerant of all racial backgrounds, religious beliefs and cultures. - We would prefer someone who is mature, tidy, LGBTQ, respectful of other roommates and their property. No parties, no noise after 11pm and chores are shared - Toilet paper, coffee/filters, dish soap and cleaning supplies purchases are equally shared by all roommates when they need to be replaced."
[8] My apartment is a very queer-friendly place. While being queer myself, I also have many queer and non-binary friends.
[9] We occasionally hang out in the common areas, eat and watch movies together. We try to be respectful of sound, smells, and the different schedules we all try to be as communicative and open as possible.
[10] - The neighbourhood is very safe and well lit. The house itself is well-lit including in the backyard – a motion sensor light by back door, and other lights as well by entrances
Existing couple owns the home.
We’ve had roomates/rented out rooms the past, and believe in transparent conversations; we consider ourselves to be very responsive, fair, clean, generous, and communicative. This is our home, and we’re looking for someone who will treat the space with respect and care. Anti-racism and trans-inclusion is important to us. Work takes up a lot of our energy, and our best roommate situations have been with folks who are open to casual conversations in the kitchen, an occasional shared cup of tea, but are not looking for lots of social interaction at home. The space is ideal for someone who wants a safe, clean, cozy space with lots of privacy, but without the price tag of a fully self-contained apartment.
[11] I am looking for someone that’s mature, clean, and wants to build a warm and mutually-supportive living situation. My current roommates and I like to have fun, cook delicious meals every now and then have a drink and watch Netflix. I would like to replicate that very much.
I value compassionate and open house communication. The house is queer, anti-oppressive, prison abolition, sex-positive and 420 friendly.
[12] As I mentioned above we are queer as well so all of our safety is top priority. Being trans myself and my sister being gay we live in an open minded environment. We want you to feel comfortable just as we are living here.
[13] You’ll be living with 4 roommates in their mid-twenties. While it’s a super welcoming, friendly space, we also know that people need their own time
Housemates are queer & non-binary, who openly communicate, respect, support & celebrate each other. It’s a great group and home that I’m sad to be leaving.
you can drop in and out of social spaces as much as you like! The main floor is all shared space.
someone who is LGBTQ+ inclusive and COVID-conscious
[14] We are both respectful, communicative human beings when it comes to mental health and frequently share where we are at. For example, if you're having a rough day and left the dishes in the sink, we let each other know that we're not doing well and couldn't complete a chore.
All rooms get sunlight and we try to use ambient lighting around the house as I & Varda are both neurodivergent. If you have sensory processing difficulties around light & sound, we're both open to communicating & accomodating those needs. We are both respectful, communicative human beings when it comes to mental health and frequently share where we are at.
Our home is a safe, compassionate, inclusive, anti-racist, and communicative space. We’re interested in a communal vibe and are looking for a loving, friend vibe too and not just a roomie! I and my roomie are both artists and so welcoming another artist into our home would be ideal as well
We are prioritizing queer, non-binary, BIPOC folks in our search
He also loves to eat things that are out in the open like plants and human food so there’s a bit of communal care that goes with him. Having a commune/ chosen family vibe is very appreciated.
Me & Varda are both queer and only have queer folk come into our space. My partner is a cis, white, bisexual man who is actively working on anti-racism, anti-ableism practices. We don't shy away from difficult conversations and are always looking for ways to understand each other better & check in on boundaries. This is a beautiful home for BIPOC queer folk to feel safe, grow, and be on that journey with us. My previous roommate was a queer south asian woman who had just started to explore her queer identity so any queer who are just stepping into their identity and so, so welcome to be here. Additionally, It's important for me to have bisexual-allied folks in the space.
[15] I’m always up for casual hangs and I’m also supportive and inclusive. Communication is important to me and I strive to make the vibes at home are cozy and friendly. I only speak English fluently however fluency is not mandatory. - I have a group of LGBTQ+ friends, all from different backgrounds, races, and nationalities, which I much appreciate. I find diversity as a very important aspect in my life and would only accept to live with others that are respectful and accepting.
[16] Especially after the lockdowns the past couple of years, and the amazing high bar that my last lovely housemate set, I am not interested in just co-existing with a roommate. Living together is intimate and an important relationship, and I want to live with someone who is interested in connecting with their housemate. Someone who is excited to build an intentional little home space & relationship that can feel warm, connected, and supportive. We can build what this looks like together! This includes negotiating boundaries and space, but grounded in being genuinely interested in being part of each other's lives.
[17] primarily lived with others in the LGBTQIA+ community. I have had great success finding my last 3 roommates via this group and have formed lasting friendships
[18] In alignment with my values, I will ensure that the apartment remains an LGBTQ+ inclusive, sex-positive, and emotionally supportive living space, while at the same time respecting boundaries. Since I myself am going through various identity shifts and experimenting with gender expression, I can assure you that your identity and lifestyle choices will be unequivocally respected. Please feel free to speak to me about any specific concerns you may have during the application process. I am happy to answer any questions!
[19] Authenticity/vulnerability/genuinity are all synonymous to us & this is what we believe is the opposite of perfectionism. We value accountability for one’s actions as we know that we may unintentionally harm each other; how you show up, communicate, & are open to restoration & transformation with one another, while knowing there are varied perspectives & power dynamics at play seen & unseen. We are keen on cleanliness and have a cute little magnetic face chore chart that we check every two weeks (minus weekly chores) to help sustain our lil home through collaboration. We are hoping you value communal living as much as we do, of which is grounded in kind reciprocal respect, trust, and responsibility of one another in keeping us safe & supported.
: We are very firm in communal & collective living, while being cognisant & respectful of each other’s boundaries & energies. That being said, we do not expect our future roomie/community member to hang out with us all the time or be friends, although it would be a great addition & will strengthen our trust & respect with one another. We spend time watching movies in the evening when we’re not busy with school/work, watching reality TV (Survivor, Amazing Race, Masterchef & all the Drag Race). We enjoy cooking & baking collective meals with each other & our closest pals in our bubble. In addition, we love creating art, going out on long walks to explore our community, perusing Kijiji, finding gems in the neighborhood & supporting each other in getting our new treasures, grocery shopping, skating, tobogganing, window shopping & supporting local shops, going to art galleries, and having singing & dancing parties. We are very open & communicate our feelings & emotions, especially with what is happening in our lives to contextualize & provide the best support needed for our well-being. We cry, we hug & we dream big in just being able to love with such compassion, while laughing our asses off because we really are just living in a simulation & this is just a shared reality we created.

[22] roommates that believe in healthy and strong boundaries and clear communication.
About the Roommates: We are a house of people who are of Afro-Caribbean, African, Asian, and European descent. We are facilitators, artists, dancers, counsellors and a lawyer. We are a community house that actively engages in the practice of embodying authenticity while grounding in the values of loving-kindness, creativity and life-affirming modes of moving through the world.
We share food and groceries and have a pretty awesome system that allows for all dietary types to be taken care of. To create ease in relationship we have weekly meetings where we incorporate meditation, movement/play and pragmatic tools in addressing topics in the house.
Pro-liberation: Being committed to uplifting reconciliation, restoration and self-reflexivity of power and privilege in relational dynamics Valuing Multiplicity : Honouring the many aspects of our being and an invitation to bring the whole of our mind/heart/body/spirit and honour ourselves & others Conscious Communication: Active listening, clear communication, & self-reflection (being able to hear, reflect, and empathize with other peoples experiences) Expression: Creativity, play, exploration and a spirit of life-long learning and growth

[24] he rent is pretty reasonable, as the lease has been held by a circle of friends for about 7.5 years
[25] The values of this house are anti-oppression, collective care, and willingness to share chores.
[26] We've only had queer or queer-friendly people living in this home and hope to keep it that way.
BIPOC and non-cis men will be prioritized.
[27] I will not be considering cis men regardless of sexuality
Ideally looking for someone who is trans/non-binary in some way.
I am autistic and I am otherwise mentally ill, so I would say that I am extremely mental illness friendly and I would want the apartment to be a safe space for both of us.
would love to live with another autistic person so we can create a living environment that works well for both of us
polyam-friendly and will never judge you if you have non-traditional/polyamorous relationships.
[28] - I am usually quiet and respectful of others living spaces. I try my best to keep the shared spaces clean.
A preferred roommate will be a cis woman (straight or queer) or a non-binary AFAB person
[29] - Sara and I are both queer and each have lovely queer partners who visit from time to time. Our neighbours below are also a lovely queer, trans couple (30s) who have lived here for several years. They have always made us feel super welcome, inviting us for the occasional dinner party with other queer people. We are also always happy to chat through ways to provide support (i.e. pronouns, gendered language) so you feel safe within our home and with any guests we may bring by.
- Ideally, you like a balance of a community/friend vibe but also value your solitude and independence. (We do love a good roommate movie night!)
[30] pretty low key and respectful of privacy, though friendly and down to socialize over occasional drinks/games/whatever. I work from home full time and often pull long hours, so a peaceful environment is important to me. I'm clean but not a neat freak, very direct in my communication and would love the same in a roomie
[31] As a housemate to 3 women living in the other units, you will be expected to help with the outdoor chores including lawn and garden upkeep, snow and ice clearing, and garbage and recycling duties. I have happily lived here for over 20 years and it is a great neighbourhood with lovely neighbours.

[32] We have been BFFs for almost 20 yrs and roommates for 2 yrs. We are both queer, neurodivergent, and body positive (body neutral).
We hang out in the common areas a lot and would love for you to join (but not required!)
We're looking to rent to one (1) young professional but open to mature students.
[33] Emily and Mirka enjoy sharing the odd meal, having game nights, and watching shows (Buffy) together, but also appreciate having space and quiet to recharge. Emily and Mirka have a close group of friends they occasionally have over, but especially during COVID these gathering are limited in size and frequency (see COVID SAFETY below). It is really important to both of them that their home is a safe and welcoming space. They really love their apartment and neighbourhood and are hoping to find someone else who does too!
[34] The apartment will be inclusive, pet friendly, sex positive, and 420 friendly
[35] Seeking a woman/non-binary/gender-queer person
We are looking for someone who is clean, responsible, and friendly
This is a queer and trans safe space!
[36] My community is very open minded and inclusive so I am looking to create a space that is comfortable for everyone who comes to the home. My home is a safe space for queerness, also body and sex positive.
I am fairly social and easy going. I enjoy good communication and honesty in the house.
But prefer a generally laid back individual that is looking to benefit in shared space.
[37] have a quiet life style.I am also VERY organized and clean. I am looking for someone preferably with similar lifestyle that is willing to keep the shared space (kitchen and bathroom)
[38] Not only am I openly queer, there is a high per capita number of queers living in the building both white and BIPOC. Everyone is super friendly, and literally give 0 fucks about whether or not I'm queer. I have never felt unsafe living here for any reason. Folks living here are generally quite progressive, polite, friendly, and tend to their own lives.
he building is inhabited by a mix of people of all races, ethnicities, and backgrounds. There are families with and without children, roommates, and single folks living here. There are folks who are students, employed, on disability, funemployed, self employed, and beyond. Ages range from 2 to 90, but the average person living here is in their early 30s. I think the ratio of BIPOC/white is 50/50.
[39] We are a queer friendly/anti racist household, and we are seeking someone who holds those same values! We are two queer 420 friendly roomies (one female and one male) looking for someone who is fun, out going and tidy.
[40] We keep a pretty calm household, and may have the occasional friend over for a distanced patio hangout during warmer months
Ideally someone who has good communication skills and is able to have conversations around needs, boundaries and precautions especially around covid.
[41] I love meditation, self-reflection, and accountability. I have worked for 10 years in the nonprofit and art-space creating communities centred around art and design, with a focus on inclusion, belonging and diversity.
[42] We are both very laid back, communal and active people. Love to host our friends for dinner! We're up early (so pls no wild parties all the time).
[43] We are all very silly nerds, who love board games and weird tangents, we have frequent TTRPG’s with a friend via the internets and at home, we like watching movies in the kitchen and relaxing plenty. There are a few avenues to communicate, in the form of a notepad in the kitchen, a Discord group chat of just our unit, and a Signal group chat with the tenants who occupy the unit above us. They are also queer and extremely lovely.
[44] I have several queer friends who have lived safely in the building for years
I’m SO excited to make this sweet apartment a beautiful home for us! I moved here from London England a year and a half ago so I don’t have a lot of things but I do have a lot of ideas and I am committed to making sure this is a safe, cozy, wonderful place we’ll both be excited to come home to.
would like to live with someone who’s down for a good balance of alone time and hanging out! I want us to feel comfortable with each other and like we can happily use the huge shared spaces
also have a few cute queer friends in the building, so when the world opens up it would be amazing if we could all hang together.
[45] We are friendly but not overbearing. Seeking the same. Privacy/boundaries are respected. We all work together to live in peace and tranquility.
ADHD = not the tidiest person in the world! But I try to be considerate about it
[46] We are a fun easy going bunch. Not a lot of house rules in place other than the expectation that people pitch in to upkeep the house without being asked. Ideally everyone should be sharing the workload equally. Just stuff like if you see the garbage is full, take it out; if you see the floor needs to be washed, do it; if you finish the toilet paper or dish soap, replace it, etc. We do have a cleaning schedule, so every 5 weeks you do a house clean.
[47] Our values are open communication, checking in on each other, sharing food, stories, games and creative times. Covid-safe precautions are in effect, but your small bubble is welcome.
Not a party home, we're pretty quiet, although we have selfcare days together.
[48] Ideally looking for other queer folks who respect their living space by keeping it clean, enjoy having the occasional roomie hang whether it’s for a hate-watch of The Bachelor, playing some board games, making the occasional dinner or hosting our own lockdown party! Communication is important, especially during this pandemic! Let’s all get on the same page!
[49] My partner & I (two cis queer women) are looking for new tenants to take over the lease
The people who lived here before us were also queer, and we'd love for the unit to go to someone else in the community. - The couple that lived here before us were also queer, and passed the apartment over to us. We've always felt very safe here in an LGBTQ+ friendly atmosphere.
[50] We strive to cultivate a safe, clean comfortable home space. This includes shared cleaning and yardwork/gardening tasks, regular check ins on spiritual, emotional, physical and mental health. We deeply honour each other’s personal space and alone time as well as needs for love, compassion and support when requested or when it flows naturally. We purely operate on consent and open-communication based principles and aim to facilitate a home that celebrates this.
[51] I’m looking for an easy-going person who enjoys exploring everything that Toronto has to offer
My space is LGTBQ+ BLM+ BIPOC+ friendly and open to all different cultures, ethnicities, and backgrounds
I’ve met some incredible people during my time in Toronto and I want to keep this trend going with my new roommate!
[52] I’m honest and good with clear communication and boundaries. I want my home to be a safe space where communication and care give way for the building of trusting and thriving peaceful house relationship
[53] I’m hoping to find someone who I can share my space with long term
. I hope you feel safe if you move in and we can also discuss what that means as we go. the lady down stairs has an adult age queer child and when I moved in she said “Oh good gays! I was afraid someone terrible might move in” she is pretty cool. The couple next door seem cool enough and have queer friends(very 420Friendly) My friends are loud liberals/progressive types(and notably absent in 2020). The neighbourhood is safe(or I feel safe anyway) I walk home alone at night, there is a very low police presence. There are lots of POC and queer people in the neighbourhood which I think means we have succeeded in making Riverdale great again.
[54] who shares our views of anti-oppressive politics. We live in a quirky charming old house and we are looking for someone who is pro-active and takes initiative to create a tidy and livable home, has enthusiasm for doing regular chores, and looks forward to building a nice home together. We are prioritizing BIPOC women and gender-nonbinary folks.
[55] We’re jazzed for hanging out in the backyard where we will be gardening and hammocking. We have gotten to know each other over 5 months of living together and we agree that sharing space is about honesty, communication and friendship. This includes a non-policed chore chart, stoner hangs, sharing food, drinks and emotional labour
JERRRSDAY (that means watching reruns of jersey shore together)
2SQTBIPOC only who are in the latter half of their 20s and older. Someone who is able to keep up with household tidiness, contribute to occasional shared meals no matter their level of cooking, and actually wants to haaaaang in this wild COVID time.
[56] - We also share the front porch and backyard with our neighbours, and often hang there together when the weather is nice. - There are two other units in the building (a main-floor apartment and a basement studio), all of which are filled with friends of ours. It’s a wonderful queer space filled with lovely queer people!
[57] We are a queer/femme household looking for another queer/femme person to join the space. We try our best to make our home a safe, comfy and accepting place. LGTBQ+ BIPOC friendly and open to all backgrounds
would love to find a roommate that appreciates a clean space and loves to hang out.
- We enjoy the occasional drink, so not a sober household but not a party house
[58] Not sure my landlord ever explicitly knew I am queer, but I've never had any concerns regarding this or having my partner over. Roncy is a very queer-friendly neighbourhood too.
[59] Market. The housemates are a calm diverse bunch but are ultimately unified by shared values of compassion, community care, and open communication. The space is best suited for those who thrive living independently. Besides the weekly sporadic table talk, we don’t always see each other. With that being said, we are always checking in with each other to ensure we’re actively creating a safe and comfortable environment for everyone. And we’re looking for someone who does the same! If you have a green thumb or have an eye for diy, we are planning some lowkey spring and summer projects.
All roommates are queer/queer-friendly. We want to provide a welcoming space, and it feels safe for those who occupy it.
We are currently a big, open and clean house of four searching for a fifth roommate. We are a mixture of students, entrepreneurs, artists and activists. We do not wish to have animals but are open to the perfect fit. We value open communication and cleanliness. It’s a shared space, so contributing to house chores is a MUST.All chores and household item costs (laundry, kitchen, toilet paper, cleaning supplies) are divided equally.
We are a respectful home that values transparent, open and kind communication.
[60] Queer and trans safety is super important to us personally and in our home. We strive to do our best to make sure our home is safe and welcome any specific needs around that.
Our home is pretty quiet, with the occasional dinner party, checking in with each other before hosting. We keep the place very tidy and like to take care of it. We’re looking for a subletter that’s clean, conscientious, and with overall similar home vibe / values of this post
[61] I’d say my home is safe for queers+ as most would consider me to fall within that umbrella
Place is kept very clean and organized and we have plenty of room to not be in each other’s way but, of course, we need respect each other and or schedules.
[62] I can be a pretty accommodating roomate for mental health reasons just need to communicate and we can find solutions . BIPOC friendly space and racism on any level is NoT tolerated.
This is my home and all walks of life are welcome.
[63] We try our best to make our home a safe, comfy and accepting place. LGTBQ+ BIPOC friendly and open to all backgrounds.
Preferred roommate: is down for sharing chores for maintaining common spaces and the yard - likes cooking and sharing food (we like to eat together!) - isn't too sensitive to sound but also isn't too noisy (our house is just not very soundproof!) - is quite self-aware and communicative - non-cis-men preferred. - We also have a large vegetable garden in the backyard that you would be more than welcome to tend as you like! - If you hate the idea of cops at pride and white people with dreadlocks, and love the idea of living with 3 artsy weirdos who regularly watch Nigella’s cooking show and also play DND, we wanna meet you!
[64] try to practice and advocate for intersectional & anti-o values, uphold body & sex-positive beliefs, and hold open dialogue with each other for room to communicate needs, boundaries, or concerns around racial, gender, finance or other positional indicators. - I like to cook, eat, watch movies with roommates and I also value my alone time - I like spending time with roommates but also value my alone/work time - I'm disabled and living with chronic pain
[65] I'm usually pretty busy but I like being social and spending time with friends/roommates. I generally keep the house clean and quiet though i do like having friends over as well. I'd love a roommate who is laidback, friendly, can hang out but also give each other space. i'm passionate about decolonization, anti-capitalism, and anti-racism, open to living with people of any gender or sexuality.
[66] I am open to occasional social gatherings (given COVID numbers are low) but it is mostly a fairly quiet home.
[67] 'm living in the upstairs unit and am helping with management of the property and any tenant needs onsite.
[68] There is currently 1 other roomie, besides my husband and myself, who is a delight and also queer. They are just starting grad school in Sept.
I am the proud mom of a trans son and a queer step-son. I am PFLAG volunteer and I have a lot of love for the queer community. I have had 3 trans kids, other than my own children, live with me in the past.
We've done homestays for a long time and are starting back after having stopped March 2020. Raymond's art is hung all over the house and he has a real hippie vibe. I have also done some portraiture in the past.
would love to have a young person in the house again to add some life. That being said, you are free to come and go as you please, knowing that you have a safe base here. BIPOC ok, all genders ok, all orientations ok. Small, quiet pets could be ok. DM for more info!
[69] Queer Safety: All roommates in the apartment have been queer and/or trans. Landlord is very chill, and does not ask questions or bother tenants about our personal life. The neighbourhood is super queer and there are other queer and trans neighbours on each side of us. This apartment is specifically for BIPOC LGBTQIT2S+ folks only-- no allies please. Priority given to trans folks and folks who are sober.
[70] We are a safe and inviting non-judgemental space, seeking preferably QPOC, we sometimes have discussions about various topics affecting the community especially about mental health, stress and anxiety and how best we can better deal with these issues as a lot of people have been affected by the pandemic and being in quarantine. It's good as we're not isolated and there's usually someone to talk to if one of us are having some kind of issue.
[71] family, kids, kinship
[72] We love all of our queer siblings including transgender and BIPOC people and don’t want to invite anyone in who does not share these beliefs. We’ve met most of our friends through queer positive spaces, and our cishet friends are aware of how to ensure a queer positive space.
We don’t know our downstairs neighbours well, but they have been nothing but nice, quiet and considerate. Sometimes they even make us cookies.
We enjoy socializing, but also enjoy our downtime. We are often out and like to have friends over for some drinks when covid restrictions permit, but sometimes we’re homebodies who keep to themselves. Our vibe is “you do you” so long as we’re all respectful and considerate of each other.
We’re very into open communication and consider ourselves to be friendly and approachable people.
[73] two are married
[74] I am somewhat involved in a lot of community initiatives and organizing so I often am quite
[75] This is a very safe environment both inside the house and in the neighborhood. If you know this part of the city, you know how much hipster the vibe can be here.
[76] Happy to discuss needs as they relate to scents, lighting, mental health, support animals, sound, alcohol, drugs, communication, etc.
It is important that you feel safe, respected and valued in this home (and always, sigh). Let me know your concerns, if any, and I'll give you an honest answer.
[77] Mental health: We are aiming to create a trauma informed environment, respecting and having healthy boundaries, expecting open communication about your needs and hoping to be heard at the same time.
In our home we try to keep a welcoming environment that is equally understanding and respectful. If there are issues we try to communicate maturely and it is a goal to try and keep things fair to everyone in the home. Jakey identifies as Gender Non Conforming and we would appreciate people who are somewhat informed and of course respectful to others always. We just really try to keep things positive during such a difficult time
I love hanging out with friends and roommates but I try not to get in your space too much and expect the same. Looking to live with HEALTHY boundaries and respect everyone else’s as well. I am doing a lot of digging on my mental health, self healing and helping others with the same.
I am an intersectional feminist, sex positive, sw positive, body positive, anti racist.
Our partners are the only frequent visitors here who are both cis men.
[78] As some queer homies living together, we provide a safe environment that is open to anyone in the LGBTQIT2+ community free of judgment. We would love to provide a space that is welcoming, where you feel represented, heard, and supported by your new friends!
[79] Some essential things for us in a roommate are: someone who enjoys collective living, is willing to stay organized and clean, is comfortable chatting about feelings, is eco-conscious & happy to live with a cat (and feed her sometimes), doesn't mind the occasional funky smell of a fermentation project.
You can expect lots of convos about tv shows, our days, crushes, defunding the police, plants, dreams, Jewish holidays, body pain, healing, cute animal videos and what to make with that extra broccoli. We do a combo of grocery/meal sharing and doing our own thing.
We try to have a monthly house meeting so that there is a space to check in about all things house n' home related. We often spend this time working together on small house projects to keep things feeling cute and functional. All to say we really all like living together and are seeking someone who is into sharing a friendly, supportive, respectful, quirky, queer, comfy home with us.
[80] We are building a trans friendly home! We have a 3 bedroom apartment, my partner and I in one room, our friend Patty in the second, and the slightly smaller room we hope to fill with a fellow trans/nonbinary/genderqueer/queer person. We are building the community we always wanted growing up and now we get to have it!
[81] I am very passionate and open about mental health issues. I for one have been navigating depression and anxiety my entire life, I am very open and understanding and willing to talk through any issues that come up without judgment and with a supportive ear. All are welcome here; you must be comfortable in your home.

GLOSSARY
Queer ● Queer is an umbrella term that describes sexual and gender identities other than heterosexual or cisgender. Queer can be employed to express the complicated and changing nature of gender and sexuality that does not neatly fit into binary identities. (Planned Parenthood, 2022) QTBIPOC ● An acronym that stands for ‘Queer and/or Trans Black, Indigenous, and/or People (Person) of Colour.’ Cisgender (cis) ● Refers to a person whose gender identity aligns with the sex they were assigned at birth. - (Statistics Canada, 2020; and The 519, 2020) Transgender (Trans*) ● An umbrella term used to describe someone whose gender identity or expression is different than the sex they were assigned at birth. “Trans” can mean transcending beyond, existing between, or crossing over the gender spectrum. An asterisk is sometimes placed on the end of trans* to expand the word to be inclusive of all non-conforming gender identities and expressions. Trans people may or may not undergo medically sup portive treatments, such as hormone therapy and a range of surgical procedures, to align their bodies with their internally felt gender identity. (Planned Parenthood, 2022; Rainbow Health Ontario, 2020) Non-binary ● A gender identity that does not neatly fit into the traditional categories of gender - man and woman. People who are non-binary may or may not identify as trans. (The 519, 2020) Gender non-conforming ● Individuals who do not follow gender stereotypes based on the sex they were assigned at birth. People who are gender non-conforming may or may not identify as trans. (Rainbow Health Ontario, 2020) Gender diverse ● Used by Statistics Canada, in relation to the most recent census data, refers to persons whose current gender was reported as not exclusively female or male. It includes persons who reported being unsure of their gender, persons who reported that they were both female and male, or neither female nor male. It also includes those who indicated that their gender was two-spirit. (Statistics Canada, 2020) Two-Spirit ● Statistics Canada understands two-spirit to refer to a person who embodies both a masculine and feminine spirit and is used by some Indigenous people to describe their sexual, gender or spiritual identity (Statistics Canada, 2020). More broadly, it is understood as a term used by Indigenous People to describe, from a cultural perspective, people who are gay, lesbian, bisexual, trans or intersex. It captures a concept that exists in many different Indigenous cultures and languages and outside of the colonial imagination. For some, the term two-spirit describes a societal and spiritual role that certain people played within traditional societies. (Rainbow Health Ontario, 2020)
