TAYLOR LANE

Welcome to the September edition of 78209 Magazine! I hope you all have enjoyed a relaxing summer and are back into the swing of the new school year! September is a special month in our home. My daughter celebrates her first birthday, I celebrate my own birthday, and this year, I am excited to participate in my debut art show with AnArte Gallery as one of the artists in La Cantera Resort’s “Women & Art” event. You’ll find one of my pieces on this month’s cover!

Enough about me - our featured articles in this edition profile some amazing individuals! Check out our special feature on Toddly, a groundbreaking offering (created by San Antonians) that helps parents and day schools navigate the chaos that is finding the best childcare option for your family. Something I know all too well!

Our Business profile this month is Pak Mail. We had a blast chatting with owner Michelle Eastman and her four-legged friend, Emmie. As photographer David Teran and I scouted the store for the perfect photo-op, Michelle tended to customers and shared the history of some pieces in the store! Coincidentally, a machine on her work table was in the packing queue and belonged to writer Bruce Forey! When asked if she would be open to sitting inside a box for her photo, Michelle was more than enthusiastic. It turned out to be one of my favorite photos to date!

Our neighbors made us feel right at home by their pool and on the roof from where the wide pool shot was photographed. The star of the shoot was their dog Kiki, of course. Towards the end of our time together, Alix brought out an assortment of pastries and fresh coffee from the cafe she and husband Gordan own together- Kiki’s Coffee & Spirits! I bet you can guess where they got the name from.

I hope you enjoy the content in this edition of 78209 Magazine, carefully curated just for you.

Blessings,

EYE CARE CENTER WELCOMES NEW DOC, OFFERS HI-TECH LASIK EYE SURGERY

Focal Point Vision, 343 W Sunset Rd, 78209, recently welcomed a third ophthalmologist to their practice. He’s Dr. Josh Iltis, a native-born Texan who was raised in Castroville.

Dr. Iltis graduated with honors from Texas A&M University, earning both his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Biomedical Sciences. He completed medical school at UT Health in San Antonio with a 4.0 GPA, graduating as the top student in his class. He was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society.

His research focused on glaucoma and retinal disease management. He specializes in advanced eye care treatments, including state-of-the-art cataract removal techniques with advanced intraocular lenses, LASIK, PRK, and other refractive surgeries. He offers cuttingedge glaucoma management, including advanced diagnostic testing, medical management, and surgical interventions with minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS), traditional filtering procedures, and more.

The new Lasik treatment offered at Focal Point Vision reportedly reduces the incidence of “dry eye,” something I know too well. Indeed, when I had Lasik surgery in the early 2000’s, the improvement in my vision was amazing. But what was not well known back then was the procedure often led to dry eyes. Symptoms of dry eye include feeling like your eyes are stinging and burning, blurred vision, especially when reading, scratchy or gritty feeling like something is in your eye, and more.

The condition is often treated with lubricating eye drops. But not having dry eyes would be wonderful!

Focal Point Vision offers comprehensive ophthalmology services, including advanced surgical procedures and cutting-edge treatments.

PET TAXI HERE TO HELP

RETIRED

VETERANS

& LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS

idea behind Pet Taxi fell into his lap. Or the back seat of his car.

Hernandez spent 12 years in the Army. When he returned home to San Antonio, he realized some of his buddies, who had returned from war, had service or emotional support dogs. But they were having trouble getting their pets to appointments.

He told me many of these retirees do not have cars or even driver’s licenses. Too often, he said, Uber and other taxi services simply won’t always accept pets.

So Hernandez began driving military retirees he knew and their service and emotional support animals to appointments.

It didn’t take long for Hernandez, who lives in Terrell Hills, to realize this was a business.

He bought a van and founded Pet Taxi in 2021, with a commitment to transport military veterans and retired law enforcement officers and their fur babies, at no cost. The only requirement is that humans ride with their animals. He told 78209 Magazine that he had several friends who volunteered to drive for Pet Taxi.

For others, Pet Taxi will transport them and their animals at a cost that is keyed to the time and distance of the trip. It is not only dogs that serve as emotional support animals. Indeed, Hernandez said he has transported a support rooster, a snake, and, on one occasion a horse. He borrowed a friend’s trailer to haul that horse.

The formal name for his taxi service is St. Francis Pet Taxi, named after the animal patron saint. He drives many people and their animals for free because he believes giving back to our community is important.

Hernandez earned a master’s degree at UIW, and he is currently working on PhD in strategic communications.

PATRONS DISAPPOINTED AS GREENHOUSE COFFEE ANNOUNCES CLOSING

It opened in January 2024, and now, just eight months later, Greenhouse Coffee, 223 E Hildebrand Ave., is packing it in.

The Greenhouse Team posted the sad news on its Instagram page, “Unfortunately, it’s time to close our doors in Olmos Park. We loved serving you for the better part of 2024.

“We are going to miss our awesome regulars …Rising costs in real estate make it impossible for us to continue operating…” Chef-owner Rico Torres told the San Antonio Express-News, “The rents were just too high.”

But in announcing its closing, Greenhouse left the door open for a next time, a new life “in a home that will allow Greenhouse to grow and prosper.”

Greenhouse was opened by chefs Diego Galicia and Rico Torres. They pioneered the highly-rated Mexican restaurant Mixtli. It is still very much alive and in business at 812 S. Alamo Street in South Town.

But for now, until mid-September, Greenhouse will be pouring its last cups of coffee and serving its last breakfast goodies.

For Oscar Hernandez, the

TASTY TREATS COMING SOON TO QUARRY

There’s really nothing like a cake to enliven a celebration. Birthdays, anniversaries, job promotions, graduations, births, gender reveals, weddings, and more are all celebrated with delicious cakes.

And now, nationally known SusieCakes is coming to 78209, across from the Quarry, at 7322 Jones Maltsberger Road.

On its website, SusieCakes describes its beginnings. The company was founded by Susan Sarich. She grew up in Chicago, where she was called Susie by her two beloved grandmothers, Mildred and Madeline. Every day, Susie would come home from school to enjoy her grandmother’s company over a glass of milk and a freshly baked treat. This daily baking ritual and special time together in the kitchen left a lasting impression.

When Susie grew up to become Susan and moved to the West Coast, she brought along her grandmothers’ carefully recorded recipes on handwritten 3×5 cards. The pure and simple connection those recipes fostered helped Susan form

SusieCakes bakeries to share her experience with others. Through SusieCakes, Susan honors Mildred and Madeline: both in her dedication to their baking traditions, and her commitment to providing women with progressive careers in the food & hospitality industry.

The company began in California in 2006; soon, it opened stores in Texas and Tennessee. SusieCakes ships its cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and seasonal treats nationwide.

PATIO DEMOLISHED, WILL BENTLEY’S BAR ON BROADWAY REOPEN?

Neighbors near Bentley’s Bar at 8123 Broadway are asking whether Bentley’s Bar will reopen following the City of San Antonio’s order to shut it last April, as I reported in 78209 Magazine.

Faced with a cease and desist order and a number of citations against the property, little visible work had been done to the buildings until recently. Now, the patio that fronted the structure has been demolished. And new windows apparently have been installed on the building fronting Broadway.

A spokesman for Bentley’s told me they plan to reopen in two weeks, but he would not confirm whether city inspectors have given the bar the green light to open up. In a FaceTime post several weeks ago, Bentley’s operator, Jesse Tavitas, said he expected to reopen the bar soon. But that has not happened as yet.

Marcus and Millichap commercial real estate company listed the property for sale. But there is no word on whether there are any buyers.

Oak Park Northwood Neighborhood Association president Gina Eisenberg, my wife, fielded dozens of calls for residents complaining about the noise and traffic congestion from Bentley’s And, she and other neighbors have pledged to continue following developments on that property.

BUSINESS PROFILE

PAK MAIL Pak Mail Approaches

Two Decades Serving the Ordinary and Eclectic Needs of Customers

At Pak Mail, every package tells a story. Owner Michelle Eastman appreciates when customers share the background of the items they want safely delivered to their destinations. Listening plays a critical role in her trade, and it’s one of the key reasons Pak Mail has maintained a loyal following over its 19 years in business.

“When people bring in items, they often share where they came from, who created them, or even if a family member acquired them while living abroad while serving our military,” Michelle said.

Located in Dijon Plaza East at 7700 Broadway, Pak Mail has built a reputation for packing and shipping items that big-brand shippers can’t handle or don’t have the skills to manage. Michelle’s concierge approach to customer service also sets her apart from the competition.

“We handle with care and offer packing solutions that help keep the contents safe while in transit,” she said.

This approach has earned Pak Mail the trust to ship unique objects around the globe.

One area of expertise is working with family estates to send beloved items to other family members. Furniture and décor make up many of the items, including clocks of all shapes and sizes, cherished family rocking chairs, and even a few large China Hutches. One memorable piece was a life-sized armored knight statue.

“Give us your big, oversized, heavy, or awkwardly shaped items, and we’ll create custom packing for those pieces. This is what we do best.” Michelle added.

Pak Mail also handles a lot of taxidermy, which presents distinct challenges in packing. These items are fragile and often require uniquely shaped boxes.

“Items such as taxidermy require lots of extra care when packing,” emphasized Michelle. “I can’t just quote a set price. I have to sit with the piece, measure it, and figure out how big the box needs to be. The horns aren’t straight—they curve out and make a very big box.”

As someone who appreciates fine art, Michelle particularly enjoys handling these pieces. The story behind each artwork helps her connect with her clients, and the packing and shipping process is meticulous.

“We have a turnkey artwork system,” Michelle explained. “The steps are laid out, and everything is cataloged. Some clients bring us one piece, while others may bring ten pieces of art at a time.”

While Pak Mail has a niche in shipping large and unique packages, Michelle emphasizes that the store accommodates parcels of all sizes, small and large.

“All packages are welcome,” she said. “We can take care of most shipping needs, returning items, small care packages, and shipping left behinds for families to their college students.”

Carol Oliver became a loyal customer soon after Pak Mail opened. Michelle helped Carol, who was a pharmaceutical representative, organize receipts and documents to mail to corporate headquarters. Although Carol is now retired,

Michelle continues to help her ship smaller packages to family members or items she sells online.

“Michelle bends over backward to help me and gets it done correctly,” Carol said. “It doesn’t have to be profitable; you just have to be helpful, and that’s why I only come here.”

A favorite fixture at Pak Mail is canine Emmie, Michelle’s loyal companion for 12 years. Emmie, a Cavapoo (a crossbreed of a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and a Poodle), is the perfect shop dog.

Emmie greets all customers, is very people-friendly, and welcomes all the love and attention she receives daily. Michelle says Emmie hasn’t met a customer she doesn’t become friends with, though she certainly has her favorites.

“Emmie sits by the front door and recognizes certain customer vehicles,” Michelle said. “Then she starts to do her song and dance, getting excited when certain people walk through the door.”

In addition to a friendly pooch and exceptional customer service, Pak Mail offers other useful amenities. The store shreds paper up to 1,000 pounds, sells packaging materials, and rents post office boxes.

“We like to solve problems,” Michelle shared. “Whatever you have, there are no limits. We’ll figure it out.”

MEET YOUR NEIGHBORS

The von Broocks

Local Entrepreneur

Couple Happily

Mix Business with Pleasure Between New York City and Alamo Heights

They fell in love amidst the hustle and bustle of New York City, but today, Alix Mane and Gordon von Broock are equally smitten with the charm of Alamo Heights. This dynamic duo, with roots in vastly different worlds—Alix, a proud Texan, and Gordon, a native New Yorker—are successful entrepreneurs who have found the perfect balance between the high-energy pulse of Manhattan and the serene sophistication of 78209.

Their love story began in an unusual setting: the pandemic lockdown in NYC. Gordon and Alix crossed paths through shared social circles in 2019, but it was an Instagram story that brought them closer in 2020—Alix discovered Gordon was fighting a serious battle with COVID-19. She reached out with well wishes, sparking a connection that led to Gordon asking her out on a virtual first date over Zoom. The rest, as they say, is history. The couple tied the knot in Tulum, Mexico, with their family and friends in 2022, and Alix introduced Gordon to life in Alamo Heights.

“I bought my Alamo Heights home in 2018, and when Gordon first saw it, he instantly fell in love,” Alix recalls. “The house has a craftsman-style charm—unpretentious yet spacious. We recently added a pool, which Gordon designed, drawing inspiration from his summers in the Hamptons.”

Gordon, with his seasoned eye as a real estate agent for Douglas Elliman, immediately saw the parallels between Alamo Heights and the affluent suburbs of New Canaan and Greenwich, Connecticut.

“Alamo Heights has the same rolling hills, tree-lined streets, and homes brimming with character,” he says.

Now, as he helps establish Douglas Elliman’s presence in San Antonio, Gordon’s bi-coastal lifestyle involves regular commutes to NYC while embracing the burgeoning luxury real estate market in Texas.

“You can feel the momentum here,” Gordon notes. “San Antonio is attracting more companies, and with that, an influx of CEOs and executives who are discovering the appeal of 78209. As a result, we’re seeing more upscale venues opening up, catering to this growing market.”

Alix, a visionary in her own right, launched Mane and Company, her first salon, at the bustling corner of Broadway and Jones in 2014. A seasoned industry artist and beauty expert, she’s lent her expertise to major networks like CBS, NBC, and 60 Minutes, as well as local news stations. However, post-pandemic, Alix decided to shift her focus closer to home and grow her salon brand, leading to a significant opportunity.

“When Saks Fifth Avenue approached me to open a second Mane and Company salon at their North Star Mall location, I knew it was the right move,” Alix shares.

Together, she and Gordon collaborated on the design and construction, ensuring that the new salon and the soon-toopen Spa Maya, launching on September 12, 2024, reflect the luxury and distinctiveness of both brands.

“I didn’t want to create a cookie-cutter spa,” Alix emphasizes. “Spa Maya is all about self-care, healing, and wellness, rooted in Ayurvedic principles. It’s a unique experience that aligns perfectly with the Saks and Mane and Company standards.”

But their entrepreneurial spirit doesn’t stop there. The couple also owns Kiki’s Coffee and Spirits, a design-forward and dog-friendly coffee shop connected to Alix’s Broadway salon, named after their beloved chihuahua, Kiki. Since its opening, Kiki’s has broken the mold, attracting locals

from all corners of the city who usually stick to their own neighborhoods. It’s become a true hotspot, drawing Alamo Heights residents for its distinct and inviting vibe.

Alix, who built her impressive business portfolio as a single mother of four, now balances the roles of entrepreneur and mother with grace and grit. The abundance of blessings in their lives has also brought them a granddaughter, and they cherish every moment as Mimi and Pop Pops.

They absolutely love spending pool time together. She and Gordon complement each other perfectly — Gordon, the bigpicture thinker, and Alix, the detail-oriented planner. Their synergy has only amplified their success, both personally and professionally.

“We bring different skills to the table,” Gordon reflects. Alix agrees, adding, “I love having Gordon as my partner. Together, we’ve built unique businesses that reflect our shared vision and bring something new and meaningful to the community.”

The couple’s love for NYC remains strong, and they frequently travel back for business and to reconnect with friends. Yet, it’s the tranquility and close-knit community of Alamo Heights that provides a grounding contrast to their New York adventures.

“We adore our neighborhood and are always looking for ways to give back,” Alix says. For Alix and Gordon, life is a harmonious blend of business and pleasure, East Coast energy, and Texas warmth — proving that with the right partner, you really can have it all.

78209 Magazine September Edition Real Estate Market Report

For this month’s 78209 Real Estate Market Report, we’ll examine trends over the summer housing sales season, comparing data from May 2024 to July 2024. The statistics over this three-month period indicate that the 78209 market experienced some cooling. There were fewer sales, longer time on the market, and more inventory. Prices for sold homes showed mixed trends, with the average price rising and the median price falling. July is traditionally a strong sales month, with many buyers anxious to close before the start of the school year in August.

Key Statistics Overview

Closed Listings: Closings dropped from May to July by 15.1%, with 53 in May and 45 in July, suggesting potential buyer hesitation during this period.

Average Price: Home prices increased over this three-month selling period. In May 2024, the average price was $595,528. By July, it had risen by 2.6% to $610,936. While fewer homes closed, those that did were higher in value.

Median Price: In contrast to the average price, the median price decreased from $475,000 in May to $463,750 in July, a 2.4% drop. While some highvalue properties were sold, more mid-range properties may have closed overall.

Price per Square Foot: This metric saw a significant decrease from $269 in May to $238 in July, an 11.5% drop. Causes for this could be more homes available for sale, or the sale of larger homes at lower prices per square foot.

Percentage of Closed Price to Original List Price: Sellers adjusted their expectations to secure contracts in July. The ratio of closed price to original list price dipped slightly from 91.9% in May to 90.4% in July. Out of 31 geographic areas monitored by the San Antonio Board of Realtors, 78209 ranked seventh lowest in this category for July 2024.

New Listings: This decreased by 18.5%, from 108 in May to 88 in July. Despite the dip, there were still more new listings this past July compared to 63 in July 2023.

Active Listings: The number of active listings increased from 238 in May to 272 in July, a 14.3% rise. As you’ll see next, homes in 78209 are staying on the market longer, leading to more unsold properties.

Days on Market: Homes stayed on the market longer in July, with an average of 59 days compared to 46 days in May, marking a 28.3% increase. Interest rates may have influenced this data point, along with rising inventory levels and a slower pace of sales.

Months of Inventory: This metric, which measures the time it would take to sell all current listings at the current sales pace, increased to 7.0 months in July compared to 5.8 months in May. This indicates a shift towards a more balanced or potentially buyer-favored market.

Increased inventory and longer days on the market could offer more options and better negotiating power for buyers. Sellers, on the other hand, may need to be more strategic in pricing and marketing their homes to stand out in a more competitive market. Understanding these trends is crucial for making informed decisions in the current 78209 real estate environment.

On August 17, 2024, significant changes went into effect regarding how broker commissions may be shared or negotiated within the real estate industry. New disclosures included in agreements between brokers and consumers are designed to provide more transparency in the process. I’ll provide more details on the changes and what it means for consumers in the October 78209 Real Estate Market Report.

How One San Antonio Couple Created the Ultimate Childcare Solution - Toddly

These days, especially for working parents, sometimes the first person who knows about your exciting pregnancy news isn’t your family; it’s the nearest day school. When Allison and Brandon Harding found out that they were expecting their daughter, the two engineers immediately got to work on an Excel sheet, categorizing schools based on different criteria. “Do they offer summer care? What are their hours? Why is it so hard to find suitable schools when we both work typical 8 – 5 schedules like every other working family?” Their options seemed limited and simultaneously overwhelming. They waited outside multiple schools at 5 AM before work, only to lose out. As engineers, they knew there had to be a better way to optimize. Not only for the parents, but for the schools trying to navigate the overflowing waitlists to get children in the door quickly.

Out of this staggering experience, Toddly was formed. For parents, Toddly provides an easy-to-navigate “marketplace” to compare local schools based on important criteria, sign up for a tour, and register your child for a spot. No more DIY spreadsheets to compare data from 10 different websites. No more 5 AM lines. No more calling around.

For schools, Toddly allows administrators to accept or decline tour requests, automatically texts parents to accept or decline spots, manages student classroom placement, accepts tuition payments, and forecasts budgets. Countless hours typically spent calling down the waitlist to parents, waiting to hear back, are instantly eliminated. Parents text back quickly. Spots get filled.

Toddly has proven to be a win-win opportunity for parents and administrators in a broken system that leaves parents scrambling for childcare while day schools manually manage a complex waitlist.

As a small, locally-owned business, Toddly provides top-class service, including customization opportunities and flexible pricing packages, allowing day schools to choose which features matter to them.

If you’re a parent (or a soon-to-be parent!), consider using Toddly when you need to find the right childcare for your family. If you’re a day school, reach out to Brandon and Allison to discuss how Toddly can help streamline your processes and get spots filled efficiently today!

Customer Testimony from Laurie Miracle, Executive Director of Laurel Heights Weekday School:

“Toddly has been an unforeseen surprise this year. Since I started using Toddly the administrative time I have spent on enrollment has been greatly reduced. Parents have a professional and easy way to schedule tours and get on our waitlist. I am using Toddly to manage classroom schedules, and now Toddly is helping me to keep a moment-by-moment accounting of revenue coming in. Toddly has quickly become a tool that I cannot imagine living without!”

Conducting with Purpose: Leadership Strategies from a High School Band Director

Why did the band director go to the doctor? Because he was feeling a little ‘off-beat.’

But being off-beat is never an issue for David Stephenson, Director of Bands and Coordinator of Fine Arts at Alamo Heights High School. With a strong commitment to continuous learning and selfimprovement, Stephenson embodies the qualities of an effective leader, ensuring his students and staff stay in harmony with their goals.

In our discussion, Mr. Stephenson emphasized the importance of leadership in guiding a band of 100 to 200 students and colleagues toward a common vision. “First, it’s about establishing the goal and vision, then ensuring everyone is on board and moving together in the same direction,” he explained.

A clear vision is vital for any leader, laying the foundation for success. However, achieving results is just one part of leadership. It’s equally important to develop the necessary skills, traits, and behaviors to guide others toward that vision. Leadership isn’t just about accomplishments; it’s about the values that drive your actions and your commitment to ongoing growth.

Mr. Stephenson prioritizes this continuous learning for himself. “I see continuous learning as a balancing act. On one hand, I strive to become a better teacher and musician. On the other, I consume content on leadership—most of which comes from the business world but is still very applicable here. I try to keep my mind fresh, working, and thinking about new ideas. Whether I’m listening in the car on my drive to school or reading, I always look for ways to apply what I learn to my work with students and colleagues. I want to be in a constant state of learning.”

Research supports his approach. A Bain & Company study found that organizations where leaders have a clear vision are twice as likely to make quick, effective decisions, keeping teams focused on strategic priorities.

One aspect that sets Mr. Stephenson apart is his focus on building relationships. “My unique approach, especially with colleagues, is getting to know the people I work with. The same goes for students— understanding what makes each of them tick. For me, it’s truly about putting the person above the task.”

Prioritizing relationships is a powerful leadership trait that positively impacts both the leader and the team. Leaders who genuinely care for others foster trust, engagement, and resilience. This not only enhances individual and team performance but also

contributes to the overall success and sustainability of the organization.

Caring leaders build stronger, more meaningful relationships with their team members, which is essential for effective collaboration and communication. Mr. Stephenson puts it simply: “If I can help create what’s best for them, then they’ll be better teachers, and they’ll be better for the kids. It’s about thinking of the person first over the goal.”

Leadership comes with challenges, and one of the most significant is dealing with failure. Failure can impact a team’s morale, confidence, and willingness to take future risks. Mr. Stephenson recently spoke at a music educators’ convention about the emotional and physical toll failure takes in their field. “I often hear directors say, don’t worry about it, it’s just band. But for me, it’s not just band—it’s a big part of our lives. We put so much time and energy into what we do that when it doesn’t work out, it really hurts. And it’s okay to be upset about it. The important part is picking yourself up, figuring out what went wrong, and using that experience to improve.”

He’s right. We often linger too long in our failures or rush past them without reflection. Acknowledging and grieving our failures is just as crucial as evaluating them and devising a strategy for moving forward. Mr. Stephenson relies on mentors for honest feedback and

advice after failures. “I rely heavily on my mentors. They are successful people who know me, our band program, and my teaching. When I talk to them, I can count on them to be real with me, give me advice, and tell me the truth—whether it’s good, bad, or ugly. That kind of feedback makes me a better leader.”

Having mentors is an important part of your success strategy. We all need someone more experienced who truly cares about us and can provide valuable advice and support. This person should be dedicated to helping you grow and able to recognize your potential, even when you doubt yourself.

Do you have a personal or professional success strategy? Having one will empower you to live intentionally, make decisions with confidence, and navigate life’s challenges with a clear sense of purpose and direction. If you don’t yet have a success strategy, now is the perfect time to start crafting one. Begin by reflecting on what really matters to you, set clear goals, and create a step-by-step plan to help you get there. But you don’t have to do it alone. If you’re ready to take control of your future and would like guidance in developing your strategy, I’m here to help. Reach out to me, and together we’ll design a personalized success strategy that aligns with your values and aspirations, setting you on the path to achieving your full potential.

FOR THE LOVE OF ANIMALS

Pet Grooming

Pet Grooming is often seen more as a luxury than a necessity. This is far from the truth. The skin is the largest organ of their body. We must recognize it as an essential part of their health and well-being.

When a pet has severe mats covering its body, it pulls the skin tight, causing serious irritation and, in some extreme cases, loss of proper blood flow. It is very important for a pet to be well brushed daily and have a consistent haircut schedule to avoid this problem. While short hair pets have a lower maintenance coat, certain breeds may need de-shedding treatments to help maintain good hygiene.

Nail trimming and grinding are also important. Long nails, if unattended, can slowly grow into a pet’s paw pad and cause joint issues.

Teeth brushing helps maintain dental hygiene in your pet by lowering plaque buildup.

Ear cleaning and ear hair plucking help reduce bacterial build-up in your pet’s ears that may cause infection over time.
