CORE1) I have a typical question on Alphaset resin sand usage.

HA says to add 2% (1.8 to 2.2) resin of Sand first and then in that mix after that add 20% of resin as catalyst in sand.

When ever I tried implemented this at Simplex or Besco it failed. I did calculated the bench life etc but I do not remember, but final results was that I failed.

The practical being used in these Foundries is that they add first add catalyst 30 to 50 % of the resin to be used and then add 2.5% resin... They are wrong as per guidelines of HA., But successful in results.

They make both mold and Core by this.

I even called the Gargi representative selling similar solution at Simplex and he also ascertained the practice by the worker.

What is right? And what is the reality? Has someone got successful with HA guidelines. Even Gargi has copied the same guidelines.
