Winter Pops is now CITY LIGHTS! We’ve changed the name—and the experience too. It’s hip, classy and cool. With our new lobby lighting, you’ll enter a sophisticated world of entertainment. Our bars offer drinks that you can take back to your seats. Then after each City Lights concert, join us in the lobby for dancing courtesy of our DJ. It’s the sights and sounds of a night on the town!

Friday & Saturday, November 9 & 10, 8pm Marvin Hamlisch, conductor Eldar Djangirov, jazz piano Nikki Yanofski, vocals “This joint is jumpin’!” Tonight the sounds of New York’s famous hot spot returns. If you haven’t seen Grammynominated Eldar Djangirov play the piano—you must! And if you haven’t heard singing sensation Nikki Yanaofski, wow—you’re in for a treat. They’ll perform the hits of Duke Ellington, Count Basie along with the legendary Ella Fitzgerald and the late, great Louis Armstrong.

Grammy Award-winning and nine-time, all-Ireland fiddle champion, Eileen Ivers, joins the San Diego Symphony for an evening of festive Irish holiday favorites including The Holly Tree, Don Oiche Ud im Beithil (One Night in Bethlehem) and Hark, The Herald Angels Sing (in traditional jig time) with many traditional favorites that we’ve come to know.

Ring in the New Year with famous Strauss waltzes, polkas & operetta excerpts.

Sunday, February 24, 7:30pm The Black Watch once served all over the world, and today operates as a full battalion in the modern British Army. The Band of the Scots Guards, founded in 1642, entertained the troops through World War II. Together they’ll demonstrate the military rigors and magnificent spectacle of British pomp and pageantry.

Saturday, May 11, 8pm Russ Peck, organ; Starring Mary Pickford and Buddy Rogers Joe Merrill, son of a millionaire, poses as Joe Grant and takes a job in the stockroom of his father’s department store. There he meets and falls in love with stockroom girl Maggie Johnson. Problems arise when his engagement to high society girl, Millicent Rogers, goes awry. Uncredited as a Flirty Salesgirl is Carole Lombard.
