THE RADY SHELL AT JACOBS PARK™ BELONGS TO ALL OF US. This remarkable new performance space is the first permanent outdoor venue in The San Diego Symphony Orchestra’s centurylong history. Designed to host more than 100 concerts and events annually and do so year-round, this venue signals an exciting future for the San Diego Symphony—a future that is accessible to our entire community. Located along the Embarcadero, this site also features Jacobs Park— a public park for the entire community. This amazing San Diego destination—together with the rest of Embarcadero Marina Park South—includes public walkways, open-air dining pavilions, basketball courts, bike paths, exercise stations, picnic areas and spectacular 360-degree views of the Marina, the Bay and Downtown San Diego.

TAKE IN THE ARCHITECTURE Appropriately called the “shell,” this canopy structure, featuring a concentric series of widening rings and tensile fabrics, was modeled after a conch shell. This magnificent form stands 57 feet tall and 92 feet wide, creating a spectacular, world-class sheltered stage area. FEEL THE MUSIC Complementing this exciting structure a re state-of-the-art acoustic systems, which in tandem deliver an acoustical experience rarely found in outdoor venues. SUNDAY, OCTOBER 31 | OFRENDA: A DÍA DE LOS MUERTOS CELEBRATION Ballet Folklórico de Los Ángeles and Mariachi Garibaldi de Jaime Cuéllar team up in Ofrenda, celebrating one of Mexico’s most beloved holidays, Día de Los Muertos, in an unforgettable visual and musical experience. Ofrenda pays tribute to traditional music and dances from different regions, including “La Bruja” from Veracruz, “Retablo Purépecha” from the state of Michoacán, as well as the amazing music from the Disney movie Coco, and homage to great Mexican artists, such as Juan Gabriel, Selena, Pedro Infante and José Alfredo Jiménez, whose music lives on.
