President’s Message On behalf of Sandpipers, I welcome you to our 30th Annual Fashion Show & Luncheon. We are truly thrilled that our fashion show is returning after a 2 year hiatus and I cannot think of a better brand to partner with for our return than PAIGE, a brand that has become synonymous with the Southern California lifestyle. Co-Founder, Paige Adams-Geller, shares our passion for philanthropy and uplifting her community. Her commitment to inspiring and empowering others through her support of various charitable organizations makes us proud of our partnership for this year’s event. Sandpipers has always been driven by volunteers willing to give their time and talents, and this year was no exception. I would like to thank our wonderful leadership team during this event: our Director of Fashion Show, Allyson Barrio, Sponsorships VP, Gloria Correa, Fundraising VP, Leah Turano, Marketing VP, Tori Lau, Director of Public Relations, Caitlin O’Hara, and Finance VP, Kaylee Torio, and her team. We are so grateful for all of their hard work this year to recreate this fabulous fundraiser. A special thank you to our Fashion Show Co-Chairs, Dana Washington and Diana Marin, who have guided their Fashion Show Committee through the planning and execution of this day, introducing many of our newer members to this incredible event. Our fundraising efforts would not be complete without our amazing Auction Committee led by Co-Chairs, Katie Moresi, Susan Rosenthal and Micall Weinberg. This team worked for months to reconnect with many of the community businesses that supported us in years past to create our collection of silent and live auction packages. Our Boutique Co-Chairs, Ashley Novak-Schultz and Natalie Sand, took on the task of staging a wonderful shopping experience by creating a boutique with veteran vendors and a couple new faces. A big thank you to all the vendors, including the PAIGE pop up boutique, for participating today and generously donating 25% of their total sales back to Sandpipers. Making sure that everything runs smoothly behind the scenes, our Fundraising & Financial Committee and Co-Chairs, Jennifer Laws and Patrice Radden, work to process boutique purchases and their efforts are truly appreciated. Our Event Programs Committee & Co-Chairs, Amy Keller and Cailey Marcarelli, are responsible for the beautiful event program you are reading, highlighting our generous advertisers. If you find yourself visiting one of these businesses, please make sure to thank them for their support! A huge debt of gratitude to our sponsors and donors for making the event possible this year. We know that the last two years have been difficult for businesses everywhere, but their support allowed us to bring this event back at a level that will help us reach our philanthropic goals. Thank you to Mark Anderson and the staff of the Beverly Wilshire for their continued support and working to get us back into this ballroom. A special thanks to Boulevard Florist and Vox DJ, who both contributed to the vision, atmosphere and enjoyment of today’s event. And finally, my heartfelt thanks to all of our guests for joining us today. Sandpipers is a 100% volunteer organization celebrating its 90th year in the community, and we are proud that all the proceeds from today benefit our philanthropic programs to assist those in need in the South Bay. Welcome back and enjoy the show! With gratitude,

Getting to the heart of issues and finding resolutions is one of Lauren’s trademark styles. Her clients say she is a “jewel”, “tenacious, helpful, smart and creative”, “focused”, “brilliant negotiator, and that the “biggest differentiating factor between Lauren and other brokers is her ability to get things done.” Hard work and a J.D. from Loyola Law School certainly put her in the top 1%. Maybe it’s magic. But, it’s not. What puts Lauren in the top 1% of the top 1% is her consistent hard work, authenticity and integrity. While doing an extremely high volume of sales, she remains available and accessible to her clientele and is consistently in touch with and responsive to her clients so they know they are her number one priority. Meet Paige Adams-Geller From the beginning our Co-Founder & Creative Director, Paige Adams-Geller, embraced change, aiming to inspire as her story evolved. Her journey began in Los Angeles, where her entrepreneurial spirit took her from working as one of the top fit models in the industry to launching her namesake collection in 2005. In late 2006, Adams-Geller launched a men’s line with the same commitment to quality and attention to detail. With the help of her leadership and vision, what started as a women’s denim brand quickly expanded into a full lifestyle collection for men and women, sold at premium retailers internationally. Today, she sits at the helm of PAIGE continuing to lead with her commitment to cutting edge design and passion for creating pieces that you will live in. Adams-Geller’s true passion in life is inspiring and empowering others. She is a dedicated board member of the Rape Foundation and the Women of Tomorrow Foundation, on the Board of Councilors for Annenberg School at USC, a member of RAINN’s National Leadership Council, a trained volunteer at the Stuart House, and a proud supporter of many other charitable organizations including NEDA and the Advot Project.
Our History Born and raised in Los Angeles, PAIGE is a lifestyle collection for men and women. Since it was founded in 2005, PAIGE has evolved into a global fashion brand offering everyday, elevated wardrobe staples, including denim, knitwear, premium basics, silk pieces, outerwear, shoes and sustainable sunglasses. PAIGE’s collections are available at PAIGE boutiques in Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Scottsdale, Houston, Dallas and Austin, and available in stores in over 80 countries worldwide. Our Founders Throughout 1931, Mary Wilke Kellogg, Ann Cox, and Blanche Hazzard considered the idea of organizing a group of young women to help the many people stricken by the Depression in the South Bay. In December, the seven founders met at Mrs. Cox’s home to choose a name for the group and to write the bylaws. They invited 60 prospective members and explained their aims – Sandpipers was born. Strong, beautiful threads of commitment weave their way throughout our 90year history, enabling us to keep alive the mission of our founding members. We are indebted to these seven remarkable women for the wonderful legacy they have given us.

OUR MISSION
What is Sandpipers?
“Sandpipers is a 100% volunteer organization dedicated to serving the needs of the South Bay community through charitable and philanthropic programs.” Since 1931, Sandpipers has been providing assistance to individuals and families in need. For the 2020 - 2021 year, Sandpipers distributed more than $475,000 into the South Bay community. Partnering with over 60 local agencies, our programs give a hand up to individuals and families who have suffered a crisis and are taking the necessary steps to rebuild their lives. Revenues from the Holiday Homes Tour support all our philanthropic programs. The agencies we partner with provide daily support for individuals and families in need by providing the following services: crisis intervention, enrichment services, health services, and support for the mentally and physically disabled and working poor families. A brief look into some of Sandpipers’ Philanthropic Programs:
SANDPIPERS SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM Established in 1941, this is the oldest continuing aid program in the South Bay. It provides funding for qualifying students for 4 years of undergraduate studies. For the 2020 -2021 school year, Sandpipers provided more than $288,000 in scholarships to college bound students.
EMERGENCY CASEWORK Provides immediate and confidential assistance to members of our community that are referred to us by our partner agencies. This assistance can range from Ralph’s scrip to help with monthly grocery expenses, medical care in the form of payment for dentures or other needed prescriptive items, payment of household rent or purchasing uniforms for school and/ or work. For the 2020 – 2021 year, we distributed a little over $11,600 in emergency assistance to community members in need.
BACK-TO-SCHOOL SHOPPING Established in 1999, Back to School Shopping has grown to serve over 70 children. In August, Sandpipers shopped with 75 children, ages 5 – 12, for school clothes, shoes and supplies. Nearly $17,000 worth of clothing and school supplies were purchased for these children.
HOLIDAY BASKETS This is our founding program, and it continues to grow year after year. This December we will provide more than 100 “baskets” to local families consisting of a carload full of new toys, new clothes, grocery scrip, shoe gift cards and a myriad of other household necessities like towels, sheets, toiletries, cleaning supplies, and kitchen goods.
SUGARPLUM TREE Each year Sandpipers partners with the LA County Department of Children & Family Services to provide approximately 1,500 toys to children in foster care. Through the work of Sandpipers year after year, we perform well over 1,300 hours of community service and touch the lives of more than 26,000 individuals. We provide weekly assistance by delivering meals to domestic violence shelters, participating in Meals on Wheels deliveries, assisting with paperwork at dental clinics, providing snacks for after school programs, and purchasing and delivering undergarments, desserts, milk, and groceries to those in need.

Philanthropy Mid-Year Update COMMUNITY OUTREACH DAY OF SERVICE PROJECTS Each year, our Community Outreach committee organizes hands-on projects for our members. This fall, we partnered with Exceptional Children’s Foundation Art Center San Pedro to clean up and beautify their front entrance. Over the two day project, 14 Sandpiper volunteers helped clean up their three front garden beds to make the space more inviting. They painted the wall and creatively used 8 recycled tires as planters. Drought-tolerant succulents were planted so they would last throughout the year and brighten up the space for years to come! This Spring the Community Outreach Committee worked with agency partner Cancer Support Community South Bay (CSCSB) to decorate their kids/teens room. Sandpipers painted the room, decorated the space using an animal and jungle theme, and made puppets for the kids to play with. CSCSB expressed, “from the bottom of our hearts, thank you for making this space feel comfortable and special for our kids who have been affected by cancer.”
ANNUAL BEACH CLEAN UP This September, over 20 members and their families participated in Heal the Bay’s Coastal Clean-up Day. Volunteers picked up more than 200 pounds of trash from Lunda Bay in Palos Verdes.

BACK TO SCHOOL SHOPPING Over 115 Sandpipers Actives, Provisionals, Juniors and Pipers gathered on Sunday, August 22nd, 2021 at Kohl's in Torrance for our 22nd annual Back to School Shopping event. Sandpiper volunteers were paired with 75 children ages 6 to 11 from 10 of our local South Bay agencies to shop for new back to school clothes and shoes. Given the state of COVID and unexpected LAUSD quarantines from the first week of school, we were so happy to be able to welcome 60 kids for in-person shopping, while 15 children were sent their items home with the agency representative. Each child received a $200 gift card to shop and Kohl's kindly offered a 20% discount and tax-free shopping. On top of all the new clothes and shoes, each Back to School participant also received a backpack full of school supplies for the year. SUMMER ARTS Every July-August, Sandpipers fund, organize and teach a nine-week arts program made available to underserved dults and children living in the South Bay. The program enriches and enhances the lives of the underserved in our community and provides meaningful community service opportunities for our membership. This year, we supported the Richstone Family Center and Little Sisters of the Poor.
SUGARPLUM Thanks to all of the support from Sandpipers and the South Bay business community, the Sugarplum committee surpassed their goal collecting over 2,100 toys this year! Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) was overwhelmed with gratitude for all of the gifts that would be distributed this year to children living in foster care. HOLIDAY BASKETS On December 12th, Sandpipers hosted a milestone 90th year of its beloved founding program, Holiday Baskets. The event was held at the Torrance-South Bay YMCA. The basket program provided basic necessities and gifts to 103 families which included 262 children from 19 agencies. Over 200 volunteers from our Sandpiper community shopped for their adopted families along with Rotarians and Amigos who assisted with the event.
