PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
On behalf of Sandpipers, welcome to the 30th Annual Holiday Homes Tour. We are so proud to be celebrating such a milestone with the South Bay community. The Holiday Homes Tour is such an honored tradition of kicking off the Holiday Season.
This tour is one of our largest fundraisers of the year. Through the generosity of tour ticket holders, community partners and over 200 volunteers, we are able to support Sandpipers’ philanthropic programs right here in the South Bay, which include over 60 local charities and many more individuals in need. We are proud that 100% of our proceeds make this support possible in our local community.
The Holiday Homes Tour has grown and changed so much over the past 30 years. This year we have a green initiative and created bike route options to travel between homes. We are trying to respect our beautiful beach community and our environment. Our four homes also incorporate both sustainability and South Bay beauty. We are so grateful to this year’s generous homeowners who opened their front doors to welcome us in and help us give back to the community.
Our Holiday Market & Cafe features over 20 local vendors, who generously donate 25 percent of their sales back to Sandpipers. Please make sure to visit the Neptunian downtown Manhattan Beach to enjoy some delicious bites and a little holiday shopping!
This year we also have a Barbie x Balmain photo box, to get your Barbiecore on.
We are so proud of the entire Holiday Homes Tour team including our associated committees and those in the community who support them. A special thank you to our Director of Holiday Homes Tour Stevi Sterns, Fundraising VP Ho Min Um, Sponsorships VP Allyson Barrio, Marketing VP Alex Mandas, Director of Public Relations Caitlin George, and finally Finance VP Kim Fukamoto, who together directed all aspects of this tour with dedication and flexibility. We also want to highlight our amazing Holiday Homes Tour Co-Chairs, Briana Shieh and Summer Hopper, for their guidance and leadership of over 20 chairwomen and their committees that worked tirelessly to make this event a success. Thank you to all of the local business partners who donate time, goods and services to festively stage these homes. And, finally, thank you to all our members who have volunteered during the tour in various capacities—this would not be possible without you.
Next weekend, Sandpipers will be celebrating the 91st year anniversary for our Holiday Baskets program. This philanthropic event is what started our organization back in 1931, and we are so proud to continue that tradition today. Sandpipers distributes over 100 holiday baskets filled with over $800 of essentials and gifts to families in financial need. Please consider making a donation to this amazing program at our Coastal Brownstone House.
It is with your generosity that Sandpipers will continue to dedicate its time and resources to serving and supporting our community. We are so grateful to each of you for attending our Holiday Homes Tour this year. Wishing you a safe and healthy holiday season.

COASTAL BROWNSTONE
Be sure to savor the stunning open kitchen with gorgeous French La Cornue range showcased by the custom brass shelving and hood designed by Waterleaf
The most important area of the home to the family is the backyard They were able to incorporate a pool, grassy area, patio large enough for seating and a ping pong table and pool house The pocket doors from the main house and pool house are always open, which fits their California indoor-outdoor lifestyle perfectly
All holiday decor and staging is by Waterleaf Interiors and Waterleaf Home with florals by Sweet Blooms Atelier Christmas tree, wreath and garland are by Deep Roots Garden Center
HOME THANK YOUS
Welcome to the Coastal Brownstone! This beautiful Tree Section home of 5,200 square feet was completed in 2021 and has 4 bedrooms, 4-1/2 half bathrooms, a music room, a movie room, a surf room, and a lovely backyard with a pool, jacuzzi and pool house This one-ofa-kind home is the inspiration of owner and designer Jill Johnson of Waterleaf Interiors
Jill worked with Mark Trotter Architecture and builder Dave Odle Construction to create this unique home for her family The garden was designed by Teryl Designs and Landscape
Architect Andrew Designs LA
The home is inspired by the owner’s love of East Coast brownstones and London townhouses She wanted their home to have a quintessential city feeling but also fit in with the coastal feel of Manhattan Beach The front of the home is an all brick exterior, and a front stoop with black and white riser tiles that coordinate with the window trim color and stone The custom front door is tall and narrow with British brass hardware and numbers centered on the door
The home has an open airy feel with 10 foot ceilings, French white oak floors and custom woodwork throughout The owner incorporated all of her favorite design elements throughout the home using a variety of colors, patterns and textures to create a cozy, warm feel A wide array of wallpaper is used throughout the home including grasscloth, delicate block print, sepia surf photos, and fabric The trim is painted different colors to coordinate with the wallpaper and fabrics in each room and shiny brass accents, like the Forbes & Lomax light switches are used throughout Fun fact not a single trim is painted white! The art is a collection of personal favorites with a mix of original pieces, vintage photos, and family portraits All of the draperies and window treatments are custom for the home and feature colorful fabrics and textures that add life and character to each room . The home’s indoor and outdoor light fixtures, including the dramatic chandeliers, sconces and flush mount fixtures were all selected by Waterleaf Interiors to enhance the classic feel

Welcome to archemy LA’s ‘Squares House’!
What was once a two story beach cottage snuggled into the heart of Hermosa Beach, is now proudly the “Squares House” The home was transformed in 2018 into a three story 1800 sq ft colorful modern oasis with breathtaking ocean views from the third story and rooftop deck The home boasts brilliant colors with a theme of squares and circles throughout Each room makes use of natural light to filter in and brighten the uniquely colorful spaces The homeowner, a licensed architect and founder of archemy LA was also the contractor, and interior designer on the project She poured her love, creative minimalist style, and talent into maximizing the functionality of each and every minute detail of this home When you walk through the bright yellow front door, complete with stained glass window from the original home, you are invited into a guest room complete with kitchenette and relaxing outdoor patio Every ounce of space in this home has a purpose, from the two story bookshelf that defines the staircase, to the maple wood wall in the living room that camouflages entrances to a guest nook, pantry closet, and brilliant red geometric bathroom During the renovation, what was once the kitchen was transformed into a master suite that faces south, allowing for maximum airflow and light Every carefully selected piece of artwork and decor was either created by a family member or has a special story from an international location On the third floor, the sun floods light through the floor-to-ceiling sliders to the playfully bright yellow kitchen creating the perfect vantage point to take in the serene ocean view The kitchen features a center island that was built on wheels so it can be moved to make way for yoga during the day or allow more entertainment space by night To complete the house with a cherry on top, the luminous red rooftop boasts spectacular ocean views of Hermosa Beach while enjoying a cozy outdoor fire and built in daybed
