First amendments of contents page draf Based on personal critical evaluation

From my critical evaluation of the contents page first draf, I noticed some areas which I wanted to change. This is a link to my blog on where to find this draf and evaluation. http://sandrapmedia.blogspot.co.uk/2017/01/critical-evaluation-of-contents-page.html

1. I changed the colour of this heading for it to match the others. I have done this in InDesign by copying the colour of the masthead and placing it on this. 3. I enlarged the font size because as previously mentioned it didn’t stand out enough; it was too similar to the font underneath.

5. As previously mentioned I had issues with placing these headings in the correct way, although both words are of different length the structure of the headings didn’t seem to be straight. I altered this and placed both words in the middle of the each line.

2. I got rid of this unnecessary line on the bottom of the page which looked scruffy by itself.

4. The line of from and the editor had too much space in between, which lef a blank space. Making this gap smaller allowed me to make the context of the note bigger, making it more visible. I changed this in InDesign on the function shown in the image.

6. I adjusted the content of the editor’s note to make it very clear that this month’s issue is aimed specifically at indie music by including the word indie in it.

7. Initially, I thought by changing the signature of just the name to a surname that the magazine would look more professional and therefore more worthy but afer discussing the issue with peers they advised me to keep it just as Sandra. This is because they think the contents page that I have produced seems slightly mature at times, by leaving it at just first name basis the relationship between reader and editor is much more relaxed and therefore the target audience keeps reads this in a preferred way.

8. I tried experimenting with a different font for band names; however this would break the house style of the fonts I have used on the front page of the magazine. 9. In the first draf I realised that the mastheads last three letters had no space in between them which might have looked scruffy. I have adjusted this issue in InDesign.
