About TOYbrary:
The TOYbrary at Sandusky Library was created to allow children to learn and explore through PLAY. Each toy was carefully selected based upon its functionality and educational features. Some have won awards, others contain your child's favorite character, and many are great for children with special needs. All toys fall into a category, and each of them helps children learn a variety of essential skills. Use our online or in-library TOYbrary catalog as a guide to selecting the perfect fit for your child. If you need help, just ask!
TOY Checkout:
Limit: 2 per patron Checkout length: 21 days The TOYbrary hub is located at the Children's Services Desk. This is where they are checked out and returned. Upon return, each toy gets a check-up and bath before going home with the next child.
PLAYing:
While some toys need no instructions, others may include some helpful hints on how to get the most out of the toy. Some toys include batteries. If they run out during your checkout, feel free to replace them. If not, just let us know upon return. Some toys contain quite a few pieces; use the attached toy page to make sure you've gotten them all from under the couch or behind the dresser. We understand that things happen - if the batteries run out, a toy gets damaged, or you forget a piece, just let us know! Above all else, through this TOYbrary, we want kids to use their imagination, learn, explore, be kids, and have FUN!
