UNPARALLELED ARTISTIC COMMUNITY / LEGENDARY STUDIO ENVIRONMENT / ARTIST-DRIVEN EXPERIENCES SFAI’s Public Education program offers areas of study that span the breadth of contemporary art, including traditional techniques in drawing, painting, photography, film, printmaking, and sculpture, as well as radical experiences, off-kilter journeys, collaborative public projects, and educational experiments.
Introduction to Oil Painting Robert Xavier Burden Oil painting fundamentals, such as drawing, brushwork, color theory, and the technical manipulation of paint will further your skills along with demonstrations and exercises designed to encourage new ideas. 12 sessions | Tuesdays, Jan 31–Apr 25 6:30–9:30pm | $530
Intermediate Oil Painting Techniques Ingrid V. Wells Experiment with a variety of painting mediums. Investigate glazing, alla prima, and pigment properties in oil painting. Become more fluent in the language of oil painting by working on a new skillset every class session.
