what is lean? Lean is a way of thinking and acting with the foundation of maximizing customer value while utilizing fewer resources. Businesses in all industries and services, including healthcare and government, are employing lean principles to optimize performance and value delivery. A lean organization understands how to design and deploy processes with zero waste in pursuit of the ideal customer value creation. The ability to eliminate waste across entire value streams translates to less human effort, less capital, less cost, lest time to make products or services, and ultimately fewer process defects. With lean thinking and practices effectively integrated into your organization, you can respond to changing customer desires with high quality, low cost solutions, and very fast throughput times. The lean way of thinking leads to more simple, nimble, and accurate organizations.

how will lean help you? We know that logistics involves managing the flow of information, products, and services to the customer. Therefore, lean logistics is about increasing the speed and flow of information, products, and services while eliminating waste in the processes that drive this function. Learning how to integrate lean thoughts and practices will lead to decreased process and cycle times and ultimately increase supply chain flow and velocity. Furthermore, lean incorporates the cultural element of “Total Cost” or “Total Cost Ownership”, which will result in improved decision making and subsequently optimize supply chain performance.

5 Reasons to Attend: 1. L EVERAGE Lean concepts to optimize supply chain performance 2. IDENTIFY areas for waste reduction and operational efficiency 3. INTEGRATE lean logistics practices into all supply chain functions 4. STANDARDIZE processes to ensure uninterrupted flow of products and information 5. CAPTURE faster turnaround times and experience fewer errors in your logistics processes

In-House Training & Customization

One of the more popular vehicles for accessing the American Strategic Management Institute’s educational offerings is the delivery of on-site trainings and management facilitations. Bringing a training or facilitation in-house gives you the opportunity to customize a program that addresses your exact challenges and provides a more personal learning experience, while virtually eliminating travel expenses. Whether you require training for your department or for an organization-wide initiative, the advanced learning methods employed by ASMI will create an intimate training atmosphere that maximizes knowledge transfer to enhance the talent within your organization.

CUSTOMIZATION We realize that not all obstacles can be overcome by applying an “off-theshelf” solution. While many training providers will offer you some variation of their standard training, ASMI’s subject matter experts will work with you and your team to examine your programs and determine your exact areas of need. The identification of real life examples will create a learning atmosphere that resonates with participants while at the same time providing immediate return on your training investment. Using interactive exercises that employ actual projects or scenarios from your organization, instructors can address specific challenges and align the curriculum of each session to your objectives. While the majority of on-site trainings are focused on smaller groups, ASMI also has the ability to accommodate organization-wide training initiatives. Utilizing multiple instructors, the Institute has the capacity to deliver courses to groups of up to 300 participants per day.

AREAS OF EXPERTISE On-site delivery of single courses, certification programs and entire packages of specialized courses are available in the following areas: • Strategic Planning
